INXS (in-excess) were Australian. The video was filmed in the gorgeous city of Prague, Czech Republic.

INXS ("in excess") was formed in Australia and became huge in the 80's w/ their pop anthems and their rock star singer Michael Hutchence. They were comprised of 3 brothers - Tim Farriss (guitar), Andrew Farriss (keyboards), Jon Farriss (drums)... w/ Garry Gary Beers (bass)... INXS broke big in Australia... then Europe... and America... w/ massive hits like - 'Need you tonight' ... 'What you need' ... 'Listen like thieves'... 'Suicide blonde'... 🔥🔥 Michael Hutchence was clearly the star of INXS and was hailed for his distinct voice and live stage presence... Offstage, he was famous for his dating life... In the 90's, he began a scandalous relationship w/ Paula Yates, wife to a major British personality Bob Geldof and mother to his kids... Hutchence and Yates welcomed a daughter together while she fought for divorce & custody of her children. INXS struggled w/ declining record sales in the 90's but were still popular, releasing the album 'Elegantly wasted' in 1997... Michael Hutchence recorded a solo album and hoped to put it out the following year. Late in 1997, Michael Hutchence was hoping to see Yates and his daughter for the Christmas holidays but was informed that the court cases were delayed and he would not be able to see them... After making a number of desperate phone calls w/ no results, Michael Hutchence apparently took his own life in his hotel room, where he was found in the morning by staff. A few years later, Paula Yates passed away from her addictions... Her daughter w/ Hutchence was raised by her ex-husband Bob Geldof. INXS tried to replace Michael Hutchence... but it was impossible to find someone w/ his charisma and voice, so the band split up after 2012.

As everyone will say you pronounce their name as In Excess..clever right 😂 This song was responsible for many babies being conceived!! Beautifull song, beautifull video..set in Prague before the fall of the iron curtain....so was quite a unique setting.

You have to do more of this wonderful band from down under. Darlings of the 70s, 80s, and 90s until Michael Hutchence tragically took his life in 1997. I was beside myself when I got the news. I would suggest Devil Inside for something upbeat to do next. Need You Tonight, What You Need, and Suicide Blonde are other staples. So happy to see you discover them!

When this song was released INXS were one of the most well known bands in the world. INXS means doing something a bit too much i.e. in excess - Aussies like to shorten things but unfortunately sometimes foreigners are not quite sharp enough to pick up on it.. 😊

Hey! I just noticed the Raytown hoodie! Shout-out to a local friend! Repping Independence over here. INXS is from Australia, but I saw them at Worlds of Fun in 1982. They said "So this is Kansas!" Nope, 😂. Unfortunately Michael Hutchence, lead singer, passed in 1997.

The lead singer, Michael Hutchense, had a very sad and unique demise in Las Vegas ,I believe, in the aughts. I know I cried along with the rest of Gen X.

Now that you've had a small sample of them, I'd recommend checking out any of their tracks from the Live Baby Live concert at Wembley Stadium in 1991. If I had to pick one track, I'd watch/listen to New Sensation. RIP Michael Hutchence (lead singer).

You pronounce it like "in excess" but say it as if there's no space between the words. :) I saw INXS live three times, including twice in the first few rows in front of the stage. They ROCK. You should definitely hit up New Sensation next. Fro the same album, but a totally different sound. And if you want to go back to their beginnings, probably check out Don't Change or One Thing, which were the songs that broke them onto the charts back when they were babies.
