She is considered tanned and ugly as per Korean beauty standards so she lost a lot of auditions because of it. She wanted to lose weight bcz she was called fat. I just wanna say I’m so happy I was your first Patreon request!!!! Ahh this made my week :). So I will give some context on their name tho. Moo (무 Mu) is Korean for Radish, when you see their lightstick (like an ARMY bomb) it's shaped like a radish. Their reason for going with MaMaMoo was it signifies the sound that babaies make "MAMA". So it mean that they want to approach their listeners organically and instinctively with their music. The come from another small music company called RBW and since these girl debut they have been well loved in Korea for having some of the BEST vocals live. There is an on going joke within the MooMoo's fangroup (yup they call their fans MooMoo's). But the joke is that they just eat CD's cause they sound just like they do on their records, if not better. They have even said I believe in the past that they don't mind making mistakes while singing cause it shows they aren't lipsycing at all. I can't remember the show they were on, but the show had them lip sync and they had such a hard time doing it. BUT as for members! Solar is the cute one that you loved in Orange. Moonbyul is the blonde one also one of the two rappers of the group. Hwasa is the tanner one that has a deeper more R&B sounding voice. And you also have Wheein, the one in the green at the start (my bias) who has such a rich strong voice while she sings ugh I can go on forever. But here is some info, just wanted to share it! They made me forget Blackpink and Red velvet or any other kpop groups when I watched Egotistic. I just love their sound and how natural they are performing and off cam. They are badass and dorks plus they are involve in making their songs
personally i always considered mamamoo as the korean little mix; not to compare or anything shady but they are both so carefree, passionate about music, funny, openminded, authentic, powerful vocals and....freaking hotties
there's a decent amount of overlap between the two fandoms, and they help each other out with streaming and such. also, one member of little mix has mentioned wanting to do a collab with mamamoo

Mama moo is one of the MANY groups I stan and I live their vibe so much! I’m really glad you were able to react to them! They are one of the few groups (like BTS) that doesn’t have a set concept. They used to do a lot of retro style music but every comeback is different and their voices are top tier!

Mamamoo, Yes!!! They are a great great group and vocal queens! Like for real, one of the best voices in kpop (their live performances are amazing). The girl you liked a lot in orange is Solar. She has power vocals and is the oldest. The blonde is Moonbyul, one of the best rappers in kpop and also sings pretty well Green oufit in the "playground" is Wheein, also power vocals but more soft than Solar Girl in the bathroom is Hwasa and she is a queen. Strong with some rasp voice, one of the strongest stage presence ever and I can't handle how she sounds live. Very jazzy voice as well. Their older songs are more jazzy/ r&b/ retro style and the new concepts are more pop driven but still has some retro vibes. I hope you continue checking out their songs. They are amazing.

Welcome to one of the deepest rabbit holes in kpop, aka "Once you Wheein you can't Wheeout." lol That's a moomoo (Mamamoo fan) expression referring to the member in the first scene, Wheein. Mamamoo was originally the title of a song written by legendary kpop songwriter Kim Dohoon (the co-CEO of their label, RBW) for Quincy Jones. While MMM were still trainees and before the group had been named they performed the song for Quincy during his visit to Seoul. QJ passed on the song, which was then partially rewritten and retitled Mr Ambiguous (Mr Ememoho in Korean, which sounds like Mamamoo) and became the debut single for the group, which got the original song title as their name. Kind of a long story but I think it's interesting. Mr Ambiguous and most of their early songs were in a retro, jazzy r&b style and they've since done everything from hip hop to bossa nova to ballads to pop dance tracks like Gogobebe. They're extremely versatile and aren't saddled with one of kpop's typical girl group concepts & musical styles like cute, innocent or girl crush. They've been around since 2014 so there are lots of MVs and hours of live performances to watch if you fall deeper into the rabbit hole, which is hard to resist. Fyi, Mamamoo is best when they're live because of their amazing vocals and riveting stage presence and they're generally considered to be the best singers among the currently active girl groups. Members in age order, oldest to youngest with their two primary responsibilities in the group: Solar - Kim Yongsun (hair barrettes): Leader & vocals. Moonbyul - Moon Byulyi (head thru sidewalk): Rap & performance. Wheein - Jung Wheein (merry go round): Vocals & performance. Hwasa - Ahn Hyejin (bathroom): Vocals & rap. Other than Solar as the leader Mamamoo doesn't really have official positions. Each can sing, rap and dance and they usually do their own choreography. They also write some of the lyrics and compose some of the music. They're known as an all-star group of multi-talented artists who could each be a soloist, and in fact each of them has a successful solo career on the side. Moonbyul's head popped up through the sidewalk because it went through the low ceiling of the stifling office environment she was stuck in to start the MV. The concept is that each of them is stuck in various ruts but they put aside their troubles and dance and party and remember that it's important to have a good time. Or, as the lyrics say, "It's ok to not be fine" but you should "Throw away troubles" and "Shamelessly have fun" anyway. Gogobebe is the final title track in Mamamoo's year-long four album series called 4 Season 4 Color in 2018-19. The 4S4C project is an unprecedented artistic achievement by a kpop girl group (or any gg of any era, language or country for that matter). Coincidentally, today they dropped a pre-release single called Dinga Dinga from their upcoming album Travel, which will be released on Nov 3 along with the official title track. Dinga Dinga is meant to be a fun song to enjoy while we're all stuck in a corona rut so in that sense it has a similar vibe as Gogobebe (and Solar even references Gogobebe by wearing hair barrettes in one scene). You might also want to check out the other title tracks in the 4 Season 4 Color project: Starry Night, Egotistic, and Wind Flower. If you want to see what I mean by saying that they're best when live then check out Immortal Songs Medley (concert), I Miss You (Queendom tv show), or their viral, show-stopping 8 minute performance at the 2018 MAMA award show. Mamamoo's rep as singers and performers was established while they were still rookies when they began appearing on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2, where they competed with many of Korea's best mainstream singers and groups by performing covers of classic (immortal) songs by older artists. To date they've been on Immortal Songs 14 times and won 3 episodes. No other kpop idol group has multiple wins on IS2. Edit: forgot to recommend some of those performances. Delilah (the Tom Jones song) and Backwoods are my favorites but they're all spectacular. Bring hankies if you watch Backwoods.
