The late Bobby Hatfield! I was 15 years old when I watched him sing this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. His voice was so awesome! No auto tune, just pure raw talent! RIP Bobby! We miss hearing your beautiful voice! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bobby Hatfield's live solo performance was on the Andy Williams TV 1965 Valentines Day show. Both Brothers (not real brothers) already performed a few songs together. Both brothers do solos on every album. They are from California USA...not the place you'd expect "Blue Eyed Soul" to get it's name from. There's a RU-vid video of Bill Medley and Bobby chatting & joking with Andy Williams before this song & explains a lil about them. This performance remains one of the best live ones in TV history with Bobby's amazing vocals done with ease. It's a love song recorded 10 yrs earlier about a man in prison wondering if his wife will wait for him to be released. Bobby even had a cold this night & always had extreme anxiety b4 going on stage & his mom was in the audience hearing him perform professionally for the 1st time so he wanted to do good & he nailed it. You''ll hear both Bobby & Bill perfectly blended but different voices in "You Lost That Loving Feeling", "Soul and Inspirations" and "you'll Never Walk Alone". The list of their recordings goes on & on. Sadly Bobby died before a concert in 2003 but Bill Medley is still performing at the age of 82 with a new partner. Great reaction. I subscribed.

Mr. Zippy, I appreciate your interest! Respect. It's totally #2. -- A love song. It's a song about a man far from his girl, wondering if things are still ok "back home" The message is please 'wait for me' I'm coming home, just wait a bit! (This song is older, but this version came out in the middle of the Viet Nam war when many men were for from home for years) I like the way you appreciated the tough parts!
Thank you for explaining that this is a love song. A desperate love song about a separation and a man hoping that his woman is still waiting for him. Beautiful.
Yes it did. It was the around early 1960's when they first hit the scene. All of us, of every shade of color known to man, thought they were black. Never had a white person created that sound before. I am now 77 years old. We all fell in love and went all the way up to magic. He sadly died in 2003, while resting up in a hotel room before going to the nearby Huge Arena to perform. He did not show up, and no phone calls to his room were answered. He was found dead, from a heart condition and cocaine. To this day, I am so sad that we lost him. He and his singing partner produced sound never before heard and never since then.
Bobby Hatfield was 24 years old when he sang this. He is from California USA.. Please react to another solo of his "Summertime". He will blow your mind with it
As a Black American Man. I love this classic # 1 hit song of all time. This song is 10 years before my era , but it's now a newer generation song. Your response was a pure joy to watch !
Aw this is a love song. This is THE love song. I don't think there's a woman on this planet who doesn't melt when they listen to this. Oh yeah. And I can't believe he's just smiling while he does the whole thing, even at the end, makin it look sooo easy.
It’s a prisoner’s song, first heard in the 1955 movie Unchained. The inmate longs for his release, hoping his love will still be there for him: ‘Time goes by so slowly’, ‘I’ll be coming home’, ‘Wait for me, wait for me’, etc. It has been sung/adapted over 1500 times. The movie ‘Ghost’ used the 1965 Righteous Brothers’ studio version in its soundtrack. This video uses the take from the same years’ RBros appearance on the Andy Williams Show.
“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......
You hit the nail on the head! "7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance". Literally breathtaking. How does Bobby even have time to breathe? Aside from the beauty of the melody, amazing voice control and perfect pitch!
Lyrics: Woah, my love, my darling I've hungered for your touch A long, lonely time And time goes by so slowly And time can do so much Are you still mine? I need your love I need your love God speed your love to me Lonely rivers flow To the sea, to the sea To the open arms of the sea, yeah Lonely rivers sigh "Wait for me, wait for me" I'll be coming home, wait for me Woah, my love, my darling I've hungered, hungered for your touch A long, lonely time And time goes by so slowly And time can do so much Are you still mine? I need your love I need your love God speed your love to me

We were at the concert waiting for Bobby and Bill to come out on the stage in 2003 ..in our hometown..Kazoo , Michigan..we had front row seats ..we were told there would be no concert ...the next day it was announced that he passed in his hotel room ..😢😢Sad day for all ! 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎼🎼🎼❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
@@vallee3140 I don't disagree with his thoughts, BUT all the constant stopping to say something is annoying. I watch/copy hundreds of reaction videos from dozens of reactors, many have their own folder, Zippy won't be one of them.
Bobby passed away in 2003 he died right after he got inducted and in the Hall of Fame he was a great singer it's so sad that we've lost him but listen to Summertime the Righteous Brothers summertime listen to it
Talke a look at the 2 of them being interviewed for Legends to see how "down to earth" both were. Ìt seem strange that ñobòdy mentions the milliòns Bobbÿ made for Cĥarities doing R and D on diseas like lupus, which his wifè Linda surrered from. But Bobby began the Bobby Hartfield annual Classic GOLF TOUŔNAMEÑT. All money to those charities.

The constant interruption from you listening to this HEAVENLY song and singer is EXTREMELY ANNOYING, just sit QUIETLY and listen to this INCREDIBLE music.
It would be great to let the song finish before you keep sloping it . Complete your reaction at the end of the song because it really ruins the whole reaction
Best reaction to that performance I've seen, and I've watched a bunch. It's an extremely well-done performance all around, and the singing is spell binding . . (as we used say when it was performed ; )
He totally disrespected this song and the late Bobby Hatfield with all the pauses. Let the music play and react at the end unless there is something specific that needs to be said. Don’t pause a song like this 500 times.
my boyfriend worked away and it would be months on end before we saw each other, so the lyrics are so meaningful to me ..even to this day all those years ago ..and when it was used in the movie ghost geeeeeez my heart wept
