Funny to think that the amount of time between Trumbo writing Johnny Got His Gun and the movie being made, is only 2 years longer than the amount of time between when MTV first ran this video (Metallica's first video, too) and today. Timeless music and messages don't care that they're 31 years old.

In the movie Johnny Got A Gun and in one!!! Since he couldn’t see, hear or speak all he could do was shake his head. Being a soldier knowing Morris code he shook his head in Morris code repeating “kill me” meaning he can’t live like this this is Hell!!! A Complete vegetable!!!

I like this reaction, you guys just got the song just perfectly! I don't know if u read the comments together or by separate, but i just wanted to say that there was a part of the video that u missed (because u were headbanging so hard to the song to put attention to the video xD), it's a clip from the movie, and in the scene there were "army people" (u know, generals, veterans and all that) trying to figure out what was the young boy doing because he didn't stop moving his head all the time, and they realized that as he cannot speak, he was trying to communicate by Morse code, and they bring a translator for them to know what he was saying... and the translator says that he is saying "help", and that then he started to pleging in morse "kill me, kill me, kill me" all over again. It's really deep and sad this song and the meaning, it's really really shocking when u realize how shitty war it is. That's all i wanted to point out, thumbs up! loved ur reaction to thrash metal!
