Join me on my inaugural journey into World of Warcraft Classic playthrough! After many recommendations, I've decided to dive into this iconic MMORPG. As a newcomer, I'm open to any hints and tips you have to offer.
World of Warcraft (WoW) is a beloved MMORPG released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment, set in the Warcraft universe. It's been four years since the events of the previous game, and Azeroth awaits exploration!

Enjoying the grind to try and level up; appreciate that things may not really start to kick off for me until I get to higher levels? Maybe one day I'll look back upon these early times, in envy. Having a blast though :D Thinking about doing a RU-vid live stream, but I'll need to tutorial the hell out of that as I have no idea.

Trinkets do give you some buffs, sometimes even special abilities. But they're exceedingly rare in Classic. You usually get them through dungeons, but there are a few you can get from quests. Maybe from a few open world mob drops, but I can't remember. Your mana pool will increase as you level up, and get gear. If you find gear with the Intellect stat, that will increase the pool, and the Spirit stat increases how quickly it regenerates. You don't need to worry about getting stuck in an area with infinite quests. Eventually you'll get a quest that tells you to go to another area. Generally (but not always) that means you're probably strong enough for the area. If you notice that the quest is of a higher level, (the color being orange or red), you should hang back until you level up a bit more. There was no quest this time because you had already completed it in a previous episode. In your fight against Garrick Padfoot you struggled a bit because he was not selected. Sometimes in the heat of battle it is difficult to click on your target with the cursor due to things like corpses and other interactable objects getting in the way. If you hit the Tab key, it will cycle through possible targets. There's usually nothing stopping you from going anywhere in the game, but since Classic doesn't level scale, you'll quickly come across enemies that are much higher level to you. And the detection radius for enemies is determined partially by your level, so if you're significantly weaker than them they'll detect you easier. Higher level enemies are also better at dodging and resisting your abilities, like you saw with the Prowler wolves. The little jumping companion you saw was for the Warlock class. The Mage class will get a water elemental at I think level 10. But if you want a cosmetic pet to just follow you around, there's a "secret" quest to get a pet chicken. Select a chicken, like the ones you saw in Goldshire, and type "/cluck" in the chat bar. I think you need to do this a few times for it to activate. (Though the quest might be a bit too high level right now. I'm not actually sure what level is appropriate. It takes you to tWestfall, which the earliest quests are roughly level 10) At 34:40 you couldn't train those abilities because you already knew them. There just wasn't anything to learn there.

Thanks always for the advice, have made notes, and thanks for being a part of my test live stream, although I doubt I'll bother with live streams in the future - was just always curious to try it. I don't think they're for me :D

Ha! Was so tempted to venture further into Westfall but decided against it when I saw the first enemy was beyond my capabilities lol. Was a great feeling knowing all that still awaits me, and then I zoomed out on my map and realised that there's still so much more out there for me to do. Best feeling in the world for a gamer. Glad you enjoyed it and happy knowing Vets are watching too. I shall run full force into this bloodbath you speak of! :D

Thanks for nice videos! Very interesting to see you experiencing and learning the game. Few tips: - Try to sell stuff always when you can, bags will always get full anyway. Every item thrown away is lost gold, and you will need it to buy spells etc. - Learn the Polymorph-spell. It helps you when 2 enemies tries to attack you at same time. - It's often useful to play with more zoomed out. That way you can see your surroundings much better. - As a mage, you don't really need to buy any drinks. Use the conjure water spell you have, you'll "craft" water for yourself. Basically when you start gaming session, craft 1 stack of water, and spend when you need it. Same goes for food. - For the gold, you can find the auction house in main cities (like Stormwind). If you get something useful, it might be worth to sell it there for other players. Basically the color of the item tells the quality. Gray is always trash, sell just to vendor. White are usually things which can be used for professions in some way. Then rarity and value will raise up in order: Green-Blue-Purple. - Armor concept. There are 4 types or armor, from light to heavy: Cloth-Leather-Mail-Plate. As a mage, you can only wear cloth, so that explains why you couldn't use some of your armor in bags. Same applies to weapons, mages can use only few types, not for example shields. Tooltip has some red words if you can't use it. Even though new weapon skills can be trained in cities, but only for certain types. Enjoy WoW. As you've already seen a bit, there's so much things to see! :)

Thanks for watching! Yeah I've had to resort to selling at whatever vendor I come across to get rid of stuff from my backpack, which I don't mind as it gives me coin, which as you said, is needed for upgrades. Someone else mentioned that I didn't get Polymorth and have made a note to the next time I jump on - it never occurred to me to use it when there's more than one enemy. This will really help me out! Zooming out makes sense to keep an eye on my surroundings; will do. Didn't know about the auction house - will have a run over to Stormwind and check it out, thank you! Armor concepts - thanks, I was scratching my head as to what Mail meant. I'll keep Cloth only Thank you for the tips, they're greatly appreciated and needed! :)

@@zedexgamingchannel Nice from you to react on comments too, makes it worthwile to give tips. Don't want to spoil things for learning, but still some general tips more, to get your experience much smoother: Consider picking gathering professions from city (ask guard for trainer locations). That way you can collect valuable materials during your leveling, and sell them for others in Auction house (AH). Mining gathers different ores/stones, Herbalism gathers flowers around the area. You can track either of those in minimap then. Third option is skinning, where you can skin the animals you will kill during the leveling. Practially always beneficial to have 2 of those professions, skinning + other of mining/herbalism. And then remember to sell things on AH :) You will need the gold, especially to keep up with learning all the spells, and eventually buying your valuable mount at level 40. For combat and early mage playing, one really good advantage is to buy some crafted wand from AH. First one is called "Lesser Magic Wand". That does way more damage than using your staff to hit enemies, and is good practice to save mana, like casting 3-4 spells, and finishing the mob with shooting with wand. Of course, prices of those vary in AH, but worth to check if you can afford any. :)

Thanks. I can't imagine how far back I would be without everyone's help and advice, so I'm deeply appreciative of it. It nice when things fall into place eventually for me. Will see to skinning and mining when I next hop on tomorrow following the video that releases tonight. Thanks again ;)

Hey Mojo, thank you very much, really glad you're liking it - have a feeling it may take me some time to learn things but I'm slowly picking things up with the help of what seems to be a great community around the game! Oooh, Christopher Lee - will take that as a compliment. Will probably morph into Gandalf as I get older though. Cheers buddy! :)

Heh, “Wow, there’s so much!” I remember that feeling a long time ago. It’s so cool. Good to see you getting to grips with it now. Suggest you make use of Questie a bit more to identify quests at your level. Check your map for quest markers. You missed a few south of Goldshire, so you went from super easy Northshire to overly tough murlocs!

Ah, thank you very much! I haven't explored 'Questie' as much as most noobs, most likely, so not sure what options to select with it. I was just happy it was showing me some things, but agree I may need to fine-tune it to my advantage. Thank Mirandelf!

Just a heads up to know you have the bonus xp gains your bar is blue while it is purple that means your gains are not buffed 👍 good to use your hearthstone b4 you logout so that way next time you play you’ll have built up a bit of rested xp overnight or however long till your next session loving sharing in your experience learning the game….PS I noticed you did not buy “polymorph” skill from your mage trainer should train that allows you to turn a enemy into a sheep very helpful for when you find yourself fighting more then one monster 👍

Aha! So that's why the bar was changing colour! Good to know, thank you. Hearthstone usage on exit, got it. Glad you're enjoying it. And yeah, I debated getting 'polymorth' as I thought at the time of seeing that it wouldn't be od use to me if the enemy turns back to its original form if I inflict damage, but now that you said it's good to use on an enemy if I'm facing down more than one, now it totally makes sense. Will pick it up when next on. Thank you! :)
