Okay, once again a great intro and after watching that dungeon run, I cannot disagree. Here are some of my notes, observances, and comments from that run. Warning - very long. I want to preface this as to say I don't want to give away any surprises, gameplay cheats or anything that could lessen the first-time-player experience. The best part of this game is the discovery & exploration and I will not reduce the value in that. Alright. You went thru Deadmines with some people who know who you are - and I say that on purpose. Here are my takes from it. You'd have to go to last video to math times mentioned. So, let's start with curses. You were asked to heal them and at 4 minutes - 33 seconds, you tried incessantly with no avail. One reason is that the curse was no longer on that player, but more importantly, you were targeting the Dynamiter instead of your party member. You need to target a friendly and then click/press the dispel. I personally use F1-F5 to target my self (F1) and F2-F4 for party/group members. This can be done in the Options menu Keybind section. NEED/GREED/PASS - I mentioned this in one of your vids prior to heading into Deadmines. On the good side, you were with some very friendly players who gave you a lot of leeway. When you get into PUG groups or are at higher levels, ninja looting is more frowned upon. I've seen some toxic stuff in chat from groups who've been ninja'd. Good practice not to do it. NEED - An item that is an automatic or future upgrade for you. Mouse over it and if the stats are green, it's likely worth NEEDing GREED - An item that you maybe could use, or maybe you could sell or maybe send to an alt character. Don't worry. If somebody else NEEDs it, they'll have priority. If nobody NEEDs, it will roll and the player with the highest /roll score will win it. BOE & BOP: Know this. Remember this. BOE is Bind On Equip. This means that the item when picked up isn't bound to you. You are free to trade, sell, auction or mail it as you choose. BOP is Bind On Pickup. These items when picked up are locked to your character and cannot be traded, auctioned or mailed - though they can be sold to a vendor. NEEDing on BOP items that your class cannot use is what drives playes nuts (in general). The item will say it's one or the other when you mouse over it. But if you make a mistake, a Bind On Equip item gives you the freedom to fix that mistake where Bind on Pickup does not. PASS - Only do this if you have absolutely zero interest in the item. I know you hit GREED a few times and got the warning that the item will be bound to you - that's only if you win it. Just accept it. If somebody NEEDed on it, they'll get it over you anyway. Be more active in the dungeon. Mages are expected to be in the top 10% of damage dealers in pretty much any scenario. You sir, were at the bottom 10% on this. The only thing you don't want to do is pull threat from the tank. At 17 minutes, see the Minor Johnson picture frame at the bottom? See those three icons under his bars? They are called debuffs. They are put on him by you and your party to lessen his health, damage output, increase damage taken, etc. See the one in the middle with the number "2"? That's Sunder Armor. It's what warriors put on the mob to reduce their armor while increasing their own threat to hold agro. Once that number under the mob's nameplate hits 2-3, you can just start popping off for the most part. You're going to be asked to polymorph as it's one of the better crowd controls in the game, make sure you can visually see the target you morphed so that if you need to do it again, he's not out of Line of Sight (LoS). At 20 minutes 46 seconds, easy he's in sight and you poly him. But at 20 minutes 56 seconds, he's behind the wall and door, so you can't reapply it. And it shows at 21 minutes 12 seconds as it breaks and he's on top of you. Polymorph is quite strong as it can singlehandedly change the shape of a fight. But it needs to be watched as an early break or LoS issue can make things problematic. Most often, the Skull target marker is your target to hit unless told otherwise. Markers aren't needed all the time unless it's a sketchy area with multiple mobs who may have certain mechanics. Most, if not everybody uses a skull for the primary, but some have different secondary targets and crowd control targets. My usual way to look at is is this: Skull - primary target X - secondary target as two lines make an X Triangle - third as it takes three lines Square - fourth as it takes four lines Moon - Crowd control #1 (makes me think of sleeping) Star - Crowd control #2 (no real reason) Those to me make the most sense. But it's often good to ask your tank (if he's marking) what he does for three-mob situations. Two-mobs you just melt. Four+ aren't super common, and even if they are, AOE damage can pretty much just group-kill them down. Outside of dungeons - just questing. One thing of note - since you'll be in many multi-level buildings, is that WoW doesn't have a Z-axis. Meaning that there is no distance understanding when you go vertical. If a mob is 3 levels directly above you while you're maybe going down the stair, it can actually melee hit you as it understands you're inches away. So, if you're close to dying and bail out in a tower, know that you can still very likely be hit vertically as if you're right next to them. You seem to know how the tier system works with quest (green, yellow, etc). Same works with mobs to kill. Those furlbogs were level 11-12. If you looked at their nameplate, you'd see their level number was gray. Gray gives no experience. Green gives moderate experience. Yellow gives more and red gives quite a bit, but there's a higher rise you'll die. This is how you figure out what mobs are worth killing and what aren't. Lastly, at least for now, memorize boat routes. Know that Menethil Harbor in Wetlands takes you to two separate areas in Kalimdor. Know that Ratchet & Booty Bay are locked together and that the one in Darkshore can take you to the Night Elf starting zone as well as Eastern Kingdoms. Knowing these will save you time as you travel.

Bolts of Linen are something you make with linen cloth using your tailoring skill. It was on your screen while you were saying "Where do I get bolts of linen? I guess I buy it somewhere. I'll check later."
I am terrible at not seeing what is right in front of my eye's. I have missed many things without realising. Thanks for the heads up and will have another look at what exactly I have in my bags and the bank :)
@@zedexgamingchannel Also check your tailoring screen to study the recipes there of what you can make, and don't forget to scroll all the way down. Many recipes have several steps where you have to make cloth and/or material before you can make an item. Bolts of cloth you make, thread you buy from a tailoring shop. If you don't know where it is, ask a Stormwind guard to mark the tailoring trainer.
Really enjoy another great video from Marc the adventurer and now the dungeon runner 😃 So much fun running dungeons we people with good attitudes. Also made me smile seeing the photo at the end. We would do that at the beginning and end of our first run of each dungeon, brings back the memories. I am so happy for you Marc and company! 🎉 🎉🎉🎉

I'm so used to having loot be shared in the games that I used to play with groups - save for legendaries, which was random between members - but here it seems that if there's one item dropped, then only one person can take them. Took me a while to realise that that was what was going on, else, vacuumed the lot! :P And yes, I will need to do that with the nameplates then as there are a lot of 'above-head' bars for me to wade through to select the target I need to. Thank you. :)
Yeah they're a pretty decent bunch over there on my Discord. A little crazy, but all have good intentions and hearts and love to help me out, which is great. On to the next region to see what awaits me! 😁
Thanks. Wow, I don't think I ever pressed TAB once during all of that. I think it's because I was a little overwhelmed at times and I had to target specific enemies to poly. But yeah, I need to learn to press TAB more often! :) Glad you're still enjoying the vids 😊
@@zedexgamingchannel The lack of TAB targeting was the only real issue in there. It's really really hard to put your pointer on one specific moving pixel in a chaotic mob 😅

ooh, this will be VERY hard on me hearing the voice chat, because I want to join in all the time with instructions , but this is a time machine and this all happened in the past . maybe for the better... you don't want my 'NOO target him first!!!' all the time :D I think this is the best learning experience, doing dungeons, you have to be focused and you learn to work as a team. You can see your targeting skill going up all the time
I was confused a lot by what my other party members were talking about tbh and all I pretty much understood was ... 'Okay Marc, sheep' lol Apart from poly-sheeping, I was pretty much just blazing fire at whatever moved hehe
Was a lot of fun. I was a bit overwhelmed with what was going on and had to listen and poly and speak, but me being me, can only use one part of the brain at any one time. Than you so much and look forward to the next one! Guess I'm going for a swim.
My first ever dungeon! Thanks to those that came on to help me out! I had to turn the game sound down halfway through as I had trouble hearing everyone, but will sort out OBS for the next dungeon. Had a great time and can't thank you all enough. Sorry for the lack of commentary as I was too busy focused on listening to instructions :)
Love how long it took you to find the kobold camp! Also, why was the wolf so upset at you killing the chicken but the kobolds are happy to let you slaughter them one by one?? 😂 Old games hey
Always fun to help out, and running around just for fun after was pretty cool. All ready for Deadmines now, will of course be on hand if needed, but otherwise have great fun and try not to die too much :P
Yeah was good. I didn't record any speaking from me during that run around as I was basically just watching what you lot were doing and practicing my chat-window, so I didn't include it in the edit as it's about 35mins of silence. Was cool though to see a few places and see how the vets do things. :)
Yeah mounts are a big deal. You really need to work hard to get them. Its supposed to be rare and it helps you a lot. Level 40 is a long way and the price for riding skill and mount itself even longer, unless people give you a lot of money. On retail Wow and other newer expansions its silly how easily can you unlock a mount, but this is classic vanilla wow. The good one! You need to deserve it! :D
Many of us have had the Messenger die on us. "Who needs a group for this? I can handle it." Escort quests are hit and miss. Some are easy - some just suck. You'll hit 19 and likely fairly deep into lvl 20 upon finishing Deadmines. I agree with others who said go to Duskwood. You can travel there right from Westfall. Keep your eyes open for Stitches - he's a lot of fun. There are also quests you can do for Ratchet (goblin town in Kalimdor) as well as Darkshore (night elf leveling zone on same continent). Each gets you lined up for Ashenvale as well to offer more questing options. You looked at a bolt of linen cloth. Last I saw, you had plenty of linen cloths in your bags to make bolts. No need buying. After linen bolts, you'll start needing woolen bolts which come from wool cloth - which you'll be getting in mass once you hit level 20 zones - such as Duskwood. I see you now know how to buff people - nice going. I remember hearing you say something like, "i can target somebody and give them more intelligence? why would i want to do that?". Yes, it's targeting a friendly player as well as yourself. Your next dungeon options will likely be Wailing Caverns or Blackfathom Deeps. Either way you'll need to open up Kalimdor. At your level, you should have no problem going to the Ironforge (remember the tram?) and running thru Dun Morogh, thru Loch Modan and into the Wetlands to Menethil Harbor. That's where you can take two boats to the other continent. Wetlands is also a pretty good leveling spot if Duskwood's not your thing. Keep up the great grind!
Yeah someone said they don't like the escort quests and that to do them solo it's better to be at least 5 levels above the enemy to stand a chance with them. A few others in the comments have pointed out the cloth I can make - I just don't know how to craft it. edit: just figured it out! :) Surprised you remember what I said when I first looked at the intellect thing - good memory! :) Duskwood seems to be what others have mention and on to Ashenvale, so I think that's likely what I will do. Don’t forget to put new spells levels on action bar. Also sell bags on auction house to help you make money. I posted another message earlier, about tailoring, but I’m not seeing it. Hopefully, you did get it

Glad to see progress being made 😂 You use the linen that you pick up to make bolts of cloth for your tailoring, it’s at the bottom of the tailoring tab
Unless you’ve done something with it if I remember from a previous episode you have TONS of linen in your bank to make bolts of linen cloth then “tailoring supply” vendor sells the corse thread

It was a lot of fun doing the quest together and faffing about afterwards! Though, I see that you're hiding the fact that you want all your loyal viewers to bow for you! They don't know yet about Marc's evil-arc. 😛
I was called Saruman after 2 videos. They know it :D But seriously, yeah, it was fun to run about slaying with vets and watch you all interact with enemies and randoms alike. Was cool.
You are getting better! I saw some good gameplay here , and we all know I am a harsh critic. (oh and Xappit is just the best with her little torch, lighting up our spirits)

Once you're done with the Deadmines (and Westfall in general) I think a cool place for you to quest would be Duskwood. It's south of Elwynn Forest and is similar to Elwynn, but has a creepy haunted feel to it. I can not fathom why it took them so long to stop making escort quests in WoW. Vanilla, TBC, Wrath. There were probably some in Cataclysm, but I can't remember Cata at all tbh. They're the absolute worst of the worst quests. Hate them.
ooh, some are hilarious, like escorting that poor turtle in Tanaris.... Or those stupid mechano chickens, and then the reaction of the owner.. If you don't like them, just skip it or make sure you are +5 lvls above so it will be easy..

Will go there as it sounds intriguing and to be honest, I had not thought too much of what I would do and where to go after the dungeon - would most likely have gone online to research what people trend to do most after it; will still do that, but your suggestion has come first, so may just take a gander at Duskwood! @@zedexgamingchannel I would go to Wetlands, to take the boat to the other continent, and see the city of the Elves. That is part of the Alliance. They are weird but you should see all 3 Alliance strongholds. And Ashenvale in the moonlight, with music enabled is something else , you certainly have to experience. And if you keep your Hearthstone in your current area you can always pop back in a blink of an eye if you have enough of those tree hugging hippies. (warning: in thousands of years they still failed to invent the concept of walls, their houses are just open spaces under a tree ) And don't try their cuisine, they don;t have any
@@Blackadder75 Ashenvale is also cool. He's not on a PvP realm so thankfully he'd not have to deal with all that lol. My first real PvP experience was in Ashenvale.
Press the ENTER key to start chatting. You only need the slash command to change the channel. So, if you're already in whisper with someone, the enter key alone will bring up the box where you can type. If you're in a party and want that channel, press enter and then /p. You only need the enter key after that. If someone is standing nearby and you want to speak publicly, press enter and /s ("say") and then after that you only need to press the enter key. If someone just whispered you, you can also press enter>/r for "reply". I think the reason you're struggling with chat so much is that you haven't figured out the enter key. (If you get into combat with the chat typing line open, your spells won't cast. Press ENTER to dismiss the chat line.)
Thanks again, interesting to watch these :) And few tips. 5:50 You could always sell those gray trash items on vendor. Remember that some addon marks then with the "gold" sign on upper corner. Those you should be always to sell even without thinking at all. Frees up the valuable bag space. 9:00 Very well done, but small detail, which caused the mob hit you once. When the freezing spell broke, you could have casted your Frostbols just like second before the freezing ending. That way the mob would be instantly slowed when it starts to run towards you. Now as you used just wand, it run full speed towards you. Not a big deal with that one hit, but overall good to keep things slowed efficiently. You just need to be aware of how long the freeze and slow debuffs will be on the mob, by looking icons and their durations near health bars. (actually later at 10:15 you made it nearly perfectly though, good job! :) ) 9:52 When you target and mouseover that enemy, you can see the tooltip in right bottom corner, telling the mob name etc. In the same window, some addon makrs that he drops quests items, those bandanas. Really worth to look at those tooltips too.
When fighting the knuckledustter at 10:50 - You can see that she does some kind of kick animation.This is called an interrupt. Players get them too. An interrupt, interrupts (duh) the spell you're casting -and- it locks you out of the school of the spell that you were casting, for a couple seconds at least. She used it twice during the fight.
@@zedexgamingchannel Back in the day, hardcore players of mana based classes would use a macro to automatically replace all their gear with 'spirit' stacked gear when they sat down to drink. Then automatically put their real gear back on when they moved. It did cut down on the downtime, but if they were suddenly caught off guard while drinking and attacked, the macro wouldn't work and death would soon follow lol
12:21 Easy hint here. Use your damn polymorph. Sheep one, kill the other. When sheep breaks, it's a one v one. Mages are the best crowd controllers in the game. Once you see the odds against you, target who you want to sheep. Then simply Nova the other in place and burn it down. Mage is a class I've never played, so I could be wrong. But that's how I'd go about it. Once you hit 20 and get Blizzard, things can get fun. Said this before and I'll say it again. Dump turn left - turn right and change them to strafe left - strafe right. Turning your back while running from a mob can cause you to be dazed. If you strafe instead, it greatly reduces the chance of being dazed and you can actually auto-attack while running away with your staff. Try it - tinker with it. It can save you - especially in caves and such. Keyboard turning is highly inefficient and often deadly. Always look around. When you're going to fight somebody or something be aware of what can jump on you randomly. Mobs in WoW follow specific patterns. Know the patterns before engaging or make sure you're in a spot where nothing will add on. 18:52 Xappit may have been offended at this moment. It's nice of Xap to help, but honestly, it'd be better to do things yourself and figure things out on your own. In a dungeon or something, fine - but you get the better experience figuring out your spells and such by trial and error. Keep up the great work. Props to whoever's doing the intros - they are funny af.
Got to shoot off to bed, but will edit reply in the morning. I didn't realise that loot was not shared to begin with until a lot later (today) when I played with her again and someone else and they explained the loot system of killed enemies to me :) Also on who gets to have the loot crate in various places. I didn't want to take it away from them so asked what normally happens and was told that everyone rolls for it - a mechanic I didn't know existed. I will however, let Xappit on my Discord know I am sorry for taking her killed loot and let her know it was not intended, but thought shared. Thanks for letting me know. :) I am doing/making the intro's :)
I have the same problem with the chat tbh….you should try making the background of your chat box completely black the text seems to stand out better cause of the contrast 👍 also….only have to type /p once when you hit enter you will notice it says “Party” instead of “Say” and from there on you will defaulted to Party chat unless you type /s to speak in say once more
