Decided to leave Elwynn Forest and the lovely Malika and have myself a little trip up north to see what's going on up there. It was um ... interesting 😂

don't forget it's a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER etc rpg. if you get stuck, confused, feel free to ask for some directions in world chat. ( type /join world) People there will be as keen to help you as here in the youtube comments and you DID achieve much, you broadened your horizons and got a peek how immersive and grand this game was and still is. When wow started it sold 500,000 copies which was 5 times more than they anticipated... (not to mention millions more in the next year) Imagine hundreds of thousands of players discovering the things you experience.. For me it's 20 years ago and I forgot most of that early time, you give us the opportunity to travel back in time.

Thank you - have made a note of that command and will have a look-see later when I hop back on. That's really cool. Cannot even begin to imagine what it must have been like back then; there must have been early online chatrooms, idk; my 2004 was at Uni doing Animation, just before FB and social media. I guess vets must have played mostly alone to begin with and made friends in that world. Must have been something. I envy it, really. But I'm having my moment with WoW and glad that it's still a thing; I'm fully immersed and even though I am alone, I don't mind it. I'm glad you get to think back to your early beginnings as you watch me play. That's nice. :)

Heh, so impressed with you this episode. You had a go at corpse running, you found the Deeprun tram and then made your way through the Wetlands without dying with the help of a friend. Good job. You almost made it over to Kalimdor but for those damn barrels!

Thanks, had such a great adventure in this. Was super excited before I left as I had no idea what awaited me. I didn't think I did much but yourself and someone else has said that to get to where I did, is good in-of-itself. I possibly thought that the ship I was on was just stationary eye candy, but knowing it can actually take me somewhere? h'm .... interesting :D

You can keybind autowalk to a key and you just press it and character walks forward by himself. Just steer him by holding right click or with A or D. I bound it to mouse 3 (back mouse button). Thank you for this series btw, I am watching along while replaying my first expansion, Cataclysm Classic. Take it slow and enjoy, no need to rush. Another quick tip: bind everything on the bar except 1 through 5. Most common keys are the ones around WASD. You can bind Q, E, R, F, T and console key(the one left of 1) for start and when you get comfortable, you can bind other ones using modifiers: Shift-Q, Shift-E and so on. You can then play with one hand for 20-30 Spells and right hand just for movement. Also, use Tab for targeting instead of clicking, it will select the closest enemy to you and then cycle between them.
@zedexgamingchannel
@zedexgamingchannel 3 месяца назад
Thank you, yeah I might try that as those keys are really close to my WASD keys, so it makes sense. Might be a while for me to get used to it, but seeing how I am still in the early stages of things, I have time to readjust things and relearn. Thank you! :)

All of the races have their own specific mount that they can get. As a human you can get horses. Dwarves ride rams, night elves ride big cats, and gnomes ride mechanical birds. You can eventually get the other steeds, but you will have to increase your reputation with the racial factions first. What you saw at 23:10 , the massive flying lion is a Wyvern, is the Horde's equivalent of your gryphon. It's what the Horde use to fly from place to place. You were standing in the Horde base, so it's a good thing you were already dead lol The accidental taxi you took is probably for the best lol. It was going to take you far longer to do that than to take the tram. And you're fine being in Ironforge. It's one of the Alliance main cities and is in the starting zone for the dwarves and gnomes. Enemies are the same levels as you were dealing with in Elwyn Forest. Depending on what race you play, your starting experience is different. So if you ever want to make a new character, pick one of the three races other than a human and you'll get a new place to explore. Loch Modan is a good zone for you to level in. The game doesn't really have any set zone that you have to do at any time, but they kind of nudge you places. After humans hit level 10 the generally go to Westfall. When dwarves and gnomes hit level 10 they usually go to Loch Modan. But there isn't a rule that says a human can't level there. From the boat in Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands you could even take a boat to Darkshore to play in that level 10 zone. To thank someone you can just type out Thanks in the chat and they'll see it. Or you can select them, then type in /thank and your character will say it out loud. There are a few emotes like that. /cry /laugh /silly

Did not occur to me for a second that different classes have their own mounts. Makes sense come to think of it that they have pretty much different of everything, including how classes jump, apparently. Good to know I can work toward getting a different mount though, but I guess I'm a long way off from even getting the default Mage Mount. One day :) Good thing I was already dead in that Horde place haha. Was kinda blown away with that hellish region I have to say. Yes, I fully intend to stay in Ironforge for the foreseeable future and level up there before going down to Westfall :) Thanks Mathis, solid advice as always

Suggestion for movement. A = strafe left, W is forward, D = strafe right, S = backwards. Then 'steer' the camera with the mouse. Then additionally (if you prefer), go to keybindings for action bar 1. Put 'Q' for action bar button 11 and 'E' for action bar button 12. They are the easiest to reach buttons so put your best spells (frost bolt for instance) on there. Once you set them, they will be all the way to the right on action bar 1. Where your mana potions and health potion are now.

Yeah, I have thought about Vets that were around from the start, almost 20 years ago? The world was a different place then and people who played games back in the day, are a couple of decades older too - so must be nice to watch and remember the times when you first jumped in and had a somewhat similar time of things as I am having now, all these years later, if that makes sense. I'm glad you're both enjoying my playthrough though; brings a smile to my face that it does. Having said that, watching a first-time WoW player fail so miserably in 2024 must make you want to pull your hair out, surely!? hehehe Seriously, thank you.

@@zedexgamingchannel I surely lost some hair watching your 'progress' good grief it's adorable and infuriating at the same time. That being said, your plan to reach burning steppes was really clever and you also showed some keen playing once you reached the 'mordor gates' and reaching Morgan's Vigil in one go without dying again. You can now safely conclude that IF it's THAT hard / impossible to go somewhere there 100% MUST be another way, so step back, analyse the situation again and look for that alternative.
@zedexgamingchannel
@zedexgamingchannel 3 месяца назад
Yeah, that was exactly my thought process at the time too. I realised that I was in a place that I really should not have been, and knew that I could go to Loch Modan as I had been told too, so thought that there must be a way there that I have not realised yet. Was only by pure luck that I found that tram, which took me to the area I needed to be. Had a great time nonetheless! :)

Haha, good episode, especially that accidental flight and stuck behind barrels. And congratulations for your wetlands run. During the old days, our Night Elf friends walk all the way from their starting zone to Elwynn forest for partying and doing quests together. Its basically same route, taking a boat, walk across swapms, loch modan to ironforge and take a tram to stormwind. It was fun times, no to mention them forgetting to set hearthstone😂. Also as you noticed, "air taxi" will only stop at flight masters' location. They wont drop you off anywhere. And some of the flying routes are inaccessible by walking such as connection betweem burning steppes and elwynn forests. those are mostly there for eye entertainment. Btw, i just noticed you play on EU server. So i can't join you atm as i am subscribed to us and oceania servers. Sadly, Blizzard doesnt allow cross connection of WoW between US or EU zone, i have to purchase EU subscription separately, greedy buggers.

I knew I was going to be making a journey out of Elwynn Forest at some point, just didn't really know where I was going to go. Just so happens that the quest in Stormwind wanted me to go north, and once I hit lvl10, I had pretty much decided I was going to have a little adventure and was really looking forward to it, and when the time came, I had a lot of fun. Nervous excitement mostly, but all fun! :D

16 minutes on video. It was some random priest buffing you. Bit same as I earlier told that you can buff the Arnace Intellect on someone. Good example of random friendliness here. :) And even druid buff there, that Mark of the Wild. 18:30 That dying tactic is sometimes working! If you want to do it more, it's recommend to take off all your gear, as every dying take durability away, and will costs on repairs. 23:10 That was a horde flight point. As alliance use gryphons, horde have those. If you had been alive, there's always very angry elite guard on those enemy flightpoints, so as corpse it was safe to see, but don't go there as alive :) When you set the home in Dun Morogh, overall it's good practise to have you hearthstone set to some of the big cities, if not doing much quests on some area. Now when you set it there, it's not very likely you would want to get back there anytime soon, if you are heading elsewhere. 36 minutes. You can thanks someone by targeting them, and then typing /thanks into chat. It's one of those emote commands, like the /dance thing. And it so fun to see you experiencing the world. Kinda made me scary as you went to level 50 area as level 10. But that's the joy of WoW. Experiencing things for first time. Can't really do that myself anymore after knowing too much. So enjoy these first time experiences, they are really golden! Waiting for your adventures.

I never know who is buffing me. I look to the chat dialogue in hope it tells me, but it never does :( I feel bad for not personally thanking them. The dying tactic got me places lol As @xaulted just said, he they were rooting for me to corpse-walk to Ironforge lol During my session, I did actually just how far the game would let me corpse-walk. But then, I'd still have to get back to my corpse. I'm sure someone has tried it over the years. That Horde place was hell. I was both scared and in awe. I wanted to stay there but wanted to continue. I do hope that I can get back there one day for some quests! I am finding a lot of joy in this game, more than I thought I ever would. I saw all the ads, even ads on TV, promoting the game, but I just ignored it. I am kicking myself for ignoring this game for so many years. But I am here now, and realms need me lol As always, thank you for you advice and kind words. Marc 🐣

@@zedexgamingchannel Just a tip from a veteran/competitive player: To get better mobility you can keybind your A and D to strafing left (A) and right (D). Alternatively, what I've seen friends do, you can leave your strafing keys as Q and E and unbind A and D. This does a couple of things: 1. You never want to turn with your A and D keys, as it's just slow and ineffective. 2. You now have two (!) new slots for keybinds. You can now (depending on which method you chose) bind Q and E (or A & D) to your actionbar, giving you two easy-to-reach buttons to put quick spells on (this is really useful!). Now you can move and turn using A, D and W, -while- holding your right mouse button pressed down. Holding down both mouse buttons (when you need your left hand to reach a "far" spell) works as well. One last tip: You can unbind your S key, as strafing and holding your right mouse button, will always be faster than backpeddling (pressing S). This would also free up another key you could use for a quick spell. I know this was a lot of information to take in at once, but trust me, this will help you a lot in the long run. :) Also, feel free to ask questions!
