Servants can actually have multiple classes dude. There's even servants in Fate who are literal jack of all trades and can fall into ANY class. Putting them into classes nerfs them from using their whole kit from legend.

The reason we have anime clips in the playlist you are using is because those (Leonidas, etc.) are Servants who got no animation update for their NP in FGO and they deserve better. The anime depictions of their NPs do them a lot more justice.

There are around 400 servants. Some servants have alternate NPs so actual number you'll end up with more than 400. Solomon list at 152, so I'll say you are about a third done.

I haven't read all of the comments so I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this already, but to clarify your question about the gameplay and the looks of it. Some upgrades have been done quality-wise and we have gotten certain events that have changed at least twisted the gameplay a bit. But the biggest reason as to why we haven't gotten like a gameplay overhaul or anything like that is actually because... We haven't really asked for it. The vast majority of the players merely play this game because of the characters and mostly the story. Just the fact that we are so invested in this world and the story behind it is why we play the game despite how "Old" it looks. Also I forgot the mention that the money that they get from FGO goes to other things such as Fate/Grand Order Anime, movies and other things.

Fate or FGO is based on history, myths, and legends. Almost all of them are, except for the anime exclusive characters written by Nasu. The reason why lancer can be a caster because in legend he was taught runes casting by his teacher, because of that he can be summoned as a caster as well. A lot of servants can qualify for other classes especially if in legend they were able to wield other weapons.

by the way it's most likely that Domain Expansions were very inspired from Reality Marbles from Fate since the zuthor of JJK said he was a big fan of Type Moon

Most Heroic Spirits can be summoned in at least one other class, based on their skills and associated legends. Arturia Pendragon is the best example, with a version in almost every class.

There's no upgrade to the base gameplay, because they're locked to it development wise. Ironically, it's cheaper to make a new game, than overhaul FGO's gameplay at this point.

He's so weak as a Servant lore-wise he doesn't even get a rarity. He even flat out tells you he sucks and that you should take someone else into battle. There's also a running joke in FGO in that his existence isn't acknowledged unless he's involved in whatever's going on. He's not even officially acknowledged by the devs; when he got his Interlude (and his buff alongside it), the announcement for it was disguised as a bug report. His Noble Phantasm is theoretically powerful, being able to reflect and amplify any damage dealt to him back onto the attacker. However, the major drawback is that he needs to actually survive the attack in order to reflect it, so anyone who can one-shot him doesn't have to worry about it. This is true in FGO gameplay as well, and it's just as clunky as it sounds.

There is a lot to cover when it comes to how servants in FGO works You have the basics of what a servant is in a Fate universe, a historical figure that can be summoned by Masters each with their own class and abilities to fight with you in the Holy Grail War. In FGO the fundamentals are the same, the main key difference is how and why the servants are summoned into a class, in which comes the possibility of an Alternate class of the same servant. Best example here is our poster girl Saber, Altria Pendragon. All of Fate fans know Saber started off as well, a Saber class servant. Due to the complicated circumstances in FGO plot, it is possible that a Lancer version of Altria Pendragon can exist. She wields a totally different weapon, and possess a different Noble Phantasm. As a Saber, she wields the sword Excalibur, hence the Saber class. But as a Lancer, she wields the holy lance Rhongomyniad. The main reason how come to be is literally in the plot of the FGO Babylonia anime so I won't spoil it but it is how it is

Heracles is extremely broken from a gameplay standpoint. His bond ce which you get upon reaching bond 10 gives him 3 stacks of guts which means he doesnt die when killed until the fourth time. Plus he has an extra guts in his skills.

If u decide to play fgo, I reccomend u trying to get either herc, Zenobia or Emiya as ur starter. Preferably herc since he is still to this day one of the best single target dps servants in the entire game. However, u won't be able to unlock his full strength untill u complete lostbelt 5 part 1. Another thing u need to know is that there's a MASSIVE difficulty spike in the 6th singularity (I'm not just talking about THAT boss fight) so try to max out ur servants as much as u can. Also, it's deceptively f2p friendly. I know that the rates are doodoo but most of the servants are actually usable (except for Angry mango and Phantom of the opera, they are trash). It may be a visual novel with a butt-load of dialogue but the story is really good. However there are 2 chapters that are so bad that it's ok to skip them and those are septem and agartha, I know that London is also pretty bad but there's important shit there so don't skip that. One thing to point out is that Scathach's name is probably (one of) the most wrong pronouced names from none naitive (irish/scottish in this case) players, if u wonder how it is pronouced it's Skaahaa (I'm not irish or scottish so I may be wrong, pls correct me in that case). In Fgo there are also 3 card types, Quick generates crit stars that increases the crit chanse of a certain card (each star is 10% so if u get 50 then all cards on ur hand will crit), Arts main job is to generate Np gain and lasty Buster just does beeg dmg (well all 3 types does dmg but dmg is the sole focus of the buster cards). Lastly, as mentioned in "is fgo still worth playing" the 6th slot in ur party is reserved for a rental servant and for that slot I reccomend picking a support, mainly Merlin (buster), Castoria(arts and is the single best servant in the entire game), Waver, Skađi (quick) and Koyanskaya of light (buster). I'm looking forward to a playthrough of fgo from u, tho I reccomend finnishing the main timeline series (Zero and Stay night) first.

Ye, lancer missing or being blocked is one of the most underrated plot holes in the fate series as gae bolg’s power(which is never rly explained in the anime) is to literally switch cause and effect Basically, before he even threw the spear(the cause), it already pierced the intended target’s heart(the effect). The act of throwing the spear doesn’t doesn’t rly mean anything beside being a visual treat so it’s really an attack that can’t be block by anything below warping causality or be evaded by simply having good luck

I recommend checking out is Sekhie reacts to FGO. Their videos tell the true history about the person then do fate lore see any difference and characters other class.
