First Time Reacting To All One Piece Openings Part 1 

Honestly, I think the only reason I can remember so many characters from One Piece is because I'm probably obsessed with it. One Piece has become my favorite fictional story I've ever read and watched. So it's easier for me to keep track of so much information when it's something that has become so important to me.

I think another reason to remember so many characters is that they are presented a few at a time so you get to the ep 500 and realize how many people you know you get shocked

Hey man, great reaction. One piece does get dark, in fact as dark as any show you can think of, genocides, drugs, wars, slavery, racism, literal concentration camps, poverty, starvation, pandemics, sex slaves, corruption, etc. But one piece tries it's best to make everything fun and emotional, so it shows all these dark things less explicitly than most shows, they focus a lot on the emotional side of these dark events, while other shows try to exploit the dark themes to the maximum to make the show seem serious, gory and adult .

20:18 the characters have tons of charisma and are really memorable, That's how. One piece has over 1100 named characters and growing (a lot of these are background characters that just happen to have a name though). But there's literally dozens of characters that are more charismatic than some popular shows protagonists.

The reason why it's so easy to keep up with all of the characters is because Oda does a flawless job of making every single character feel real and unique and unforgettable. It's a testament to the writing

I feel like the show always has its serious moments. It’s a goofy show by nature but it gets tone shifts a lot

Memory is contextual. The more connections you make in your brain from one piece of information to others, the more likely you are to remember that thing. The story of One Piece is vast and interconnected, so it's actually very easy to remember even specific names of minor characters after a while. And if you're 'in the community', talking about the history of the series and where it's at now... well I can tell you that the name of the Bandit guy who attacked Shanks in Luffy's flashback is Higuma.

Yes One Piece has alot of characters but they all keep coming back and each character plays their role well so it's easy to remember them. Even in these openings if you really pay close attention (which ik is extremely difficcult if you're watching for the first time) you'll notice you've already seen most of the characters in the previous openings but at the same time there are other new characters introduced too

This confuses a lot of people, but at 15:00 this is the first opening sung by the straw hat crew's voice actors as a special release!

That first opening is so iconic, makes me happy just to hear it :)

The very first OP of One Piece has to be my all time favourite OP of any anime.

What i like about 90s anime is that almost most of them their own art style, this days most anime has same kinda style you know, except few like demon slayer....

One Piece has its share of dark and serious moments. Topics include:starvation, kidnapping, absolute corruption, racism, government conspiracies, and even cannibalism.

"How you keep up with this many characters" The real question is how does Oda create such memorable Characters Arc after arc.

Notice you're watching a video that only goes through op 23. Op 24 came out a month or so ago so don't forget to watch that. They also came out with a special one off remake of the first opening updated with new characters and outfits for episode 1000, which is pretty neat. And lastly, there's also an opening for a piece called Romance Dawn which was sort of a prequel that the author Oda wrote prior to One Piece that sort of became the current story, with a great song and gorgeous animation. Think you'd like all of them

And one more thing: man, you should check out the German version of the first opening. I mean, instead of translating this song into German, they decided to write their own song, and it's a damn MASTERPIECE! It's called "Die Legende (or The Legend)". Well you see when a character's back story leaves a deep impression, the story and the arc gets stuck. And well most of the characters that appear don't just disappear after their arc, especially the ones with the deep and emotional stories. Besides there are so many easter eggs to so many twists from the very first episode, and it's so much fun collecting all the pieces to complete and solve the mysteries.

Opening 13, the last one from this part fits so well into the story going on in the episodes going with it always hits me when I rewatch it. Of the early openings of One Piece definitly my favorite.

Probably not the best idea to watch all these as you're starting the series, but hey! Knowing who joins the crew isn't as cool as getting their introductions in the story, but it's not like you already know the one piece is -an umbrella- or that Luffy is actually -an alien- or that Whitebeard -only has a moustache.-

if you're having trouble with copy right what you need to do is for some reactions reverse the video like picture so images will be reversed, and make the video less visible like fade it out a lil should help with copyright stuff also for trailers u can just cut some of the audio too still show the trailer playing.

There's so many characters because you know it has been 1000 episodes and the world of one piece is so vast and big, no wonder there are a lot of characters. And these characters are not just background character who just appear one episode and then gone for the entire series, and Oda did a great job developed them even the side characters. Can't wait for the part 2 for my fav Opening (OP 14}

You will remember most of the characters because everyone has there beautiful story on their own, you will get see their stories and feel them and thats one of the beauty's of one piece 🖤☠

If you have time, you should react to the 1st German opening - it has a very different take, own sound editing and a crazy talented voice actor for Gold Roger - it's really a banger

As someone who has watched all the episodes and caught up to the manga, I do in fact remember every major character, and most minor ones. When you love it like most of us fans do, it comes second nature

About the characters, well There are like some side characters you won't remember but most of the arc characters you'll end up remembering due to all the things that happens during arcs, i watched most of the canon one piece except foxy arc and i can remember most of the characters by their faces except maybe some from the beginning of One piece.

I know more One Piece characters (and more about them too) than I do my neighbours or other people in general... 😅 To the question of: Why? ...why not? Also it's Luffy/One Piece so... 🤷‍♀ just roll with it, it is better for your sanity. It might seem daunting and discouraging to be only 4 episodes (by now probably way more) in and know that there are more than 1000 episodes ahead. But at the same time, you can look forward to 1000+ episodes of the greatest manga/anime ever at this point in time. All the adventures that still lie ahead... I'm happy I'll probably still be alive when One Piece ends, but at the same time I will be increadably sad that it does. It will probably leave a giant hole for a lot of people, as if a part of your purpose for existence has been taken away. Whatever comes afterwards and wants to take One Pieces place will have to step into some giant shoes.

"I get up at 3 am for work" Fuck I know that, I used to work at 4 am so I woke up around 3 for it, there is no way to organically wake up at that damn hour, and less so to have energy for the day, my mornings were orange juice and rockstar with energy bars, I usually slept 4-5 hours before my shift then slept another 2-3 after work if I needed it. Did that for nearly 3 years straight was hell I refuse to ever work before 8 am ever again.
