Angelina wrote this song to deal with her homesickness. The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces (Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps) recorded the album "It's Magic" with 16 tracks in 2017/18 to mark the 200th anniversary and released it under their record label Forsvarets Musikk. Because of the special anniversary, they asked Angelina (Angelina was 11y) to do the vocals on the album. As a special tribute to Angelina, two originals by Angelina were also released on the album. On June 16, 2018, for the official celebrations and tribute to the orchestra, there was this spectacular concert "It's Magic' with many test screep prominent guests including the Prime Minister at the time, Erna Solberg. 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣

If you look at the first songs penned by Angelina they are all about what she loves. "What is life" is full of references to her family, most notably her little sister who she calls "the love of my life." This song "Olso" is about her home and "Shield" is all about her appreciation for her family taking care of her. "Million Miles" is obviously all about her grandfather. It isn't until her last two songs "7th Heaven" and "Love Don't Let Me Go" that she moves on to themes that are somewhat philosophical in nature

Angelina is at age 12 and the Band is the Armed Forces Military Band .. .. in the Audiance also was the Norwegian Prime Minister who is a huge Fan of Angelina .. and of course it's her Original .. and maybe it is the secret National Anthem of Norway .. the, fact that Angelina is a National Treasure of Norway

I understand that Angelina started to write this song on the flight home to Oslo (from USA) in 2016, included it in the album It's Magic. This concert was to launch the album. Angelina moved to LA in March that year, so she flew back to Norway. This must have made the song much more meaningful and heartfelt... I have listened to this so many times, still I am left in awe as to how a 12 year old can do this...

Thanks for choosing this song, Britt, and for the fantastic reaction. Almost none of the reactors get there and it's a shame, because this song is so full of nostalgia and so incredibly harmonious that it could become the anthem of the capital of Norway, it beautifully communicates the emotions that Angelina feels when she returns to home from her many trips. Angelina and the Norwegian Military Band worked a lot well together. I love the simplicity and ease with which this girl manages to transform her passions and her feelings into beautiful music. Angelina is pure and fantastic talent, mixed with a wonderful musical sensibility and a unique maturity and this is an outstanding and sweet song written at 11 but with the sensitivity of an adult. 💛 🧡 ❤

I could not agree more. Angelina has a very classy look of elegance and distinction, as is also clearly demonstrated in her appearance - the white dress, the hairstyle and flowery adornment. In an industry that is predominantly characterized by sexuality and quasi-pornographic exhibitions our barefoot princess stands alone, like a voice of reason crying in the wilderness - a definite outlier. Like so many others have said, "she's not from this era". Norway should definitely designate Angelina as a National Treasure because to her fans she is an international treasure with immeasurable and unparalleled talent. Dear Britt If you want to do yourself a big favor, take a trip to Norway and also to Oslo. I know what I'm talking about. A beautiful country and great people. And if you want to do yourself another favour, rent a motorhome and take a month to really see the fjords. When you have reached the North Cape, stay there for one night. One night? Thank you Britt for that awesome and fun reaction to 12 Angie. She started writing this song at age 10 on the plane coming back from visiting LA California. She finished it and put the final touches on it at 11. There's a video of here doing just that as she writing and playing. You'll love the video showing her music process. I think Oslo is a great song - curiously underappreciated... I do wonder though whether the ending could be strengthened a bit ? It seems to fade a bit at the end. But my main point is appreciation of the song - so different from her other originals. Yes: Norway faces my country (the UK) across the North Sea :) It is a beautiful country with an incredible long convoluted coastline... (Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" has fun with that :) )

Ho, that last “home”… so short here. I “know” she laugh a little after the end because she knows the profound effect it causes in the CD version. This is a concert inside the medieval fortress in Oslo City center where this Military Staff Orchestra is located. The Orchestra was 200 years old and this was their jubilee concert with prime minister and other dignitaries present. In addition they made this record called "It's magic". Be aware that this concert and those others you see with Angelina (except the outdoor when she was singing for the Nobel Piece price winners) have been in June-July-August when the weather have been good. Do not believe the weather is like that all year. The song "Oslo" is written by Angelina herself.

One thing that is note-worthy about Angelina that seems not to be mentioned as often as it should (perhaps because it's overshadowed by her inimitable vocal ability) is the poise, grace and unmistakable elegance that she exemplifies . What is striking to me is the fact that in an industry that is over-sexualized by immoral conduct and quasi-pornographic attire, this precious gem projects an aura of pure class that one might expect of a lady from an Elizabethan era of aristocracy, and simply des not conform to today's standard of sensationalism. Call me crazy but I think our bare-foot princess has no equal, and I hope she never cowers to the pressures of the industry or its objectionable practices because right now she is in a class of her own and is clearly above such antics. Surely she has been officially declared as a national treasure in Norway because, as a commentor noted, she is fast becoming an international treasure to her legion of fans!

If you shot a photograph of this song in a brown sepia tone film or filter, you would swear it was taken in 1872. The music itself is slightly reminiscent of Dr Zhivago, or Fiddler on the roof, and perhaps a european national anthem or two.

Britt, you have no idea how accurate you were with the comment about the experiences of "city kids" vs. nature. You have to experience Oslo to appreciate how un-city-like it is! From he air it simply looks like a fairly densely populated rural area and there is a town-size-like center with a modest high-rise (well, medium-rise) center. It does not LOOK like a big city, nor does it FEEL like a big city for all that is IS a fairly large city. In my opinion, most of Oslo is interwoven with Nature.

This is meant to be a constructive criticism, so here we go, no need to react to every 10 seconds of an artists rendering of a song. If the song is 3 minutes long, try to hold on to your thoughts for at least 1 minute so that the listener and even yourself can enjoy the fluidity of the music. Just saying..
