There were other artist that do this song brilliantly but why is it after 60 years Elvis is the only one who reaches in and grabs my soul. Elvis was the only rock and roll singer who could aing a gospel song in the middle of screaming teenage girls and get away with it. Can you imagine he could also sing a gospel song in Las Vegas concerts the sin city full of drinking, smoking and who knows what else and they loved it. CV I know you get alot of request and it would be like winning the lottery if mine gets picked but if you want to know the real Elvis. Please do the song Why Me Lord. Thank you, see you next month
CV this is the song I was telling you about where his Bass singer takes the lead and Elvis lets him shine. His name was J.D. Sumner. There’s a good version with video from the early 70’s
A friend asked, “Do you think Elvis was intended to sing Gospel, but took another direction?” My answer, “No. singing Gospel was his witness and he reached way more people then if he would’ve only sang Gospel.” I’ve never heard mention, but am sure that through their love of Elvis and hearing his gospel brought many to Christ.
I lived in Tupelo about a mile from the birthplace of Elvis. My family left there in 1957. I never met him, but I did attend the same school, and we knew some of the same people. I love him still today.
Three years ago (?) only Elvis Presley music was played in all hospitals in England on one day because Elvis music is good for the patients. You can read the article online somewhere.
Elvis voice touches even the hardest soul..and i believe was a true gift from God that reminds us NOT to judge...be kind..be humble & dont think because you have more money or a better job u are superior ❤ Elvis embodied the bible...inc temptations & human frailty...only thru Jesus was Elvis sustained & he said it many times! Born in a dirt poor area...the death of his IDNTICAL TWIN...a single embryo that splits in 2...an analogy to Abrahams willingness to sacrifice his son....the Presleys maintained a strong religious faith despite their poverty..loss and hardships...also similar to Job.....for Elvis this was almost reversed in he started with nothing & aquired massive fame & money...temptations all around..yet remained humble & faithful to God ❤🙏 There is something noone can quite describe when hearing Elvis...or why his voice is so moving...even he didnt understand why HE had such a gift...he brings people to God without them neccessarily knowing lol ❤ imo 🙏😍
Wow i think or thought i knew every Elvis song there was. My dad was a huge fan and my name is Erin because his middle name is Aron lol. But ive never heard this one,. God i love your reactions, as i got to feel them too for the first time with you on this one. Thank you so much❤ Oh theres more lol. The second song ohhhhh goosebumps Im commenting as this video goes, you my friend are not alone ❤
I can’t understand why they are showing Elvis’ Christmas album together with a gospel song ... they are not related at all . This song is from another album .
No ,there was not. I have that LP, and the songs are purely Christmas Songs. As follows: Side A: 1. Blue Christmas 2. O come all ye faithful 3. On a snowy Christmas night 4. It won’t seem like Christmas (without you) 5. Holly leaves 6. Santa bring my baby back 7. I’ll be home on Christmas Day Side B. Santa Claus is back in town 2. Silent night 3. Here comes Santa Claus ( down Santa Claus lane) 4. Winter wonder land 5. White Christmas 6. Silver Bells 7. Mama liked the roses So ,no,there were no gospel songs on that album. Its from 1976 I have, though,a CD With Christmas songs on there ,that I got as a gift 2002, sherry they have mixed in a few gospel songs that aren’t supposed to be there . That’s why I hardly listen to it because it ruins the Christmas feeling . So I am talking about the original (and yes,I am well aware, that the LP was not originally released1976,but 1957…) not the remixed stuff that comes have come out i later days.
I Owe you an apology.🙏 I’m sorry .❤️ I looked it up on the internet ,and discovered that in fact that Christmas album did have gospel songs on it ... It is my edition from 1976, that does not have anything but Christmas songs on there . I thought they were identical. . So it seems ,that my cd that I. received as a gift ,was more accurate with the songs . I don’t get why they do that . I will also apologise for my answer to you regarding ” mama liked the roses ” on Seph plays. 🙏 I wanted to delete my answer to you ,and when I did ,your response to my first comment to Seph, was also deleted... So I’m writing to you here ,instead: I discovered also that ,on my Christmas album from 1976, the record label has added ” mama liked the roses, which was not on the first release in 1957. So you were right . Sorry for being so angry. Was never my intention to being so rude.
Elvis Presley is the most famous person in the world, but also the most underrated artist. Elvis was 100% a musical genius. I've been an Elvis fan since I was 13. Today I am 60 years old. Elvis was always with me when I felt lonely. When I thought that this world was a dark world, Elvis gave me the strength with his music that I was never alone. Elvis was always with me when I needed strength and hope. His gospel songs are something very special. To be honest, no church, no God has given me as much strength and hope as Elvis Presley (especially with his gospel songs). A famous black man once said: "Elvis Presley has given us more than any politician in the world"! John Lennon said: "Before Elvis there was nothing"! And Madonna said: "Without Elvis you are nothing"!
You are right in most polls of top singers he don’t make the top Ten they even have Bing Crosby above him problem is most of the panel consists of day time TV personalities who probably have only heard couple of songs but we know different and just as important top artists know ,Elvis was every kind of singer and the best at it , he had bad days but when on it there’s no comparison
I agree with you. There will never be another Elvis. GOAT! I'm 72 12:36 still can't get enough of Elvis. His millions of fans will keep him in their hearts forever.
I am 71 grew up because of my mama listening to Elvis and I feel exactly as you do ! I saw him in 77 shortly before he died, he was not in the best shape, but his voice was pure magic.
@waynevillette4193 You are right. I think I've only seen one poll where he was in the top 10 and that was a couple of years ago...I also think the pannal consists of younger people who only listen on the surface or perhaps sun recordings...IMHO as you they're have him underrated 😢
No one but no one could sing a gospel song in the middle of a rock concert and get a crowd to love it. If you're religious or not his gospel music moves you. That voice just explodes with emotion. The 👑 is 🔥 and 💗
*YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE* IS MY FAVORITE ELVIS SONG!!!!! - I deal with Horrific Mental Illness - & Other Health Issues and you have to PUSH Through it And Believe - I SAY I KNOW I CAN DO THIS!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH
Bless your heart Tonya! I know how you feel. I have multiple health issues too and deal with depression. I listen to Elvis everyday. His music is very healing. I also tell myself if Elvis could fight through with all his health issues and stresses then I can too. He’s my daily Cheerleader. I Love him so much. ❤
Absolutely beautiful! Elv1s loved gospels. He felt the music deep down. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. Powerful vocals. Very nice reaction CV. More Elvis please! Thank you. 👍
@waynevillette4193 Yes, it's pretty clear in this song and some others early on that Elvis had a tremendous range, with lower notes as well as higher notes, from a young age. At the same time, he strikes me as having grown more comfortable and powerful with the lower notes as he matured. --Marie
@@MMVDupont I wouldn’t say more powerful not when you listen to It’s now or never /surrender / That’s when your Heartache begins and so on I would say still great but less versatile around 71 onwards not that he was any less than great just less versatile than he was 50s early 60s
Not only did Elvis have an amazing voice, but when he sings a Gospel song, every person, religious or not, feels the words and the meaning. I can assure you that Elvis can touch a non-believer with a song better than 100 preachers. God gave him that voice for a reason. Listen to Elvis sing "Take My Hand Prescious Lord" and "If That Isn't Love" and you'll see what I mean. This world is a mess, listen, and you have hope. Long Live The King.❤❤❤❤
NOT ONLY WAS ELVIS GIFTED AT SINGING HE WAS A GREAT MAN. HE HELPED PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS. A LITTLE GIRL HE MET AT A CONCERT AND SHE WAS BLING. SHE WANTED TO TOUCH HIS FACE. HE BROUGHT HER UP ON STAGE AND TALKED TO HER. THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL. HE HAD HIS TEAM TO FIND THE BEST DR IN THE WORLD TO HELP HER SEE AGAIN. HE PAID ALL HE PAID FOR EVERYTHING.. THAT IS WHAT WE WOULD CALL A MIRACLE... THAT IS JUST ONE HE WAS ALWAYS HELPING PEOPLE THAT COULD NOT HELP THEMSELVES..
This was the young fresh Elvis, he never made a secret of his faith. He brought gospel to the mainstream, even by singing a gospel song on the Ed Sullivan show, which they refused at first, he said he promised his mother and had to sing it. Sullivan finally said yes. The song was "Peace in the Valley". Thanks sir you are the best. Be Blessed.
Elvis will forever be the King. To hear another amazing song called 'Believe' check out Brooks & Dunn. It is my favorite song that Ronnie Dunn sings lead on. The video is beautiful & it encapsulates your thoughts on the word.
Happy belated Birthday David...thank you for requesting these beautiful songs ....they were gifts for all of us. Thank you Elvis for giving us so many amazing songs. We love you and will always remember you. ❤
When life gets tough, I sing to myself "You`ll Never Walk Alone" and "Only The Strong Survive" in a loop. For me, it`s the repetition that does the trick :) Elvis`s music has been a part of me for decades. It`s always beautiful to see someone else feeling Elvis the way he wanted to be felt. Thank you and God bless.
Elvis could take us to church every time he sang a gospel song.. he was singing from the heart and I understand what you're saying.. Elvis and a guitar or piano and his voice.. that's all we need. It was so pure how much he loved his music and God. The power the love in his voice.. just phenomenal.
I am a chronic depressive and when i get to listen to Elvis he restores my peace thru his testimony and i get chills and can feel the Holy Spirit comfort me. When i stop his music i can lay down , talk to my Savior and feel his presence with me as I fall asleep. Always the next morning i feel energized and happy. And all that day i hear Elvis singing to me uplifting me all the day. I thank Heavenly Father for blessing us with Elvis and his glorious voice and his precious testimony of Heavenly Father and HIS Wonderful SON JESUS CHRIST !❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@CVTECK1 Hi, actually it's my daughters name. I'm using her old laptop, and all her info was still on there. My name is Gee-Ann, I'm from South Africa. But to answer your question, I just asked her now if the 508 means anything and she said no, the name Courtney Nairn was taken (apparently her name is common), so she had to put random numbers behind her name so it would be accepted. 🤣
@@CVTECK1 I had to Google what City of Champs 508 was. I see it has to do with MMA. That's weird, because my daughter actually did MMA for a while. Never had any fights, it was purely training, and then her trainer, MMA Fighter, Jason Culverwell, closed his gym down and left to concentrate on his own training for future fights. She's still in contact with him, but she hasn't done MMA since he left. She really wants to get back into it now though. Just some useless information for you while I wait for the 45 hours to watch your Elvis reaction. 🤣🤣
Most people don’t know that it’s Elvis himself playing the piano on this song. The story behind this recording is: Elvis was in studio recording for one of his last films and got so angry with the song selection that he stormed out the studio angry. The musicians then just went to lunch. Elvis returned thinking he was only one in the studio and went to the piano and poured out his heart in this tune. Little did he know that the engineer was in the control room and captured what he described as pure , unadulterated soul. RCA was given the tape and added the rest of the music later keeping Elvis on the piano. Considered one of his most passionate recording ever and all done spontaneously .
Hi CV, I am so sorry for being a little late , but I totally enjoy your ELVIS reactions and you know that Elvis was a Searcher always looking for the answers to Why, and even as a child in the ghetto , he always said that he would buy his mama her own house and a pink Cadillac , so the words you talking about When he sings I Believe , is because he always did , church was in his soul and heart and never forgot the roots he came from , He Still to this very day has the greatest selling Christmas Albums of all time , and you can't touch the Gospel in this Man , I really want to ask you to react to Elvis singing Make The World Go Away , because just like you said , theirs some songs that you really take to heart and I know that I am going through so much that when I hear Elvis singing that song , it's like he's talking about me. Truly appreciate your beautiful Elvis reactions and I will always be hoping for more. Thanks CV and God bless you and your family. TCB 1935
God created the world in 7 days. On the 8th day, he created Elvis. God was showing off his best work when he created Elvis. There is absolutely nothing like when Elvis brings out his Gospel. Please listen to Only Believe, Where Did They Go Lord and Without Love and let me know your reactions. You will not only have been "taken to Church", you will think you died and went to heaven. He was remarkable and there hasn't been anything close to his voice yet. I have been a fan for 60 years. His finest vocal to me is his ballad Tomorrow Never Comes.
They played this at Lisa Marie's funeral, She also recorded a duet version with Elvis - also beautiful. Another song you should hear and play is HURT by Elvis.
The Christmas Album released in 1957 is the most played Christmas album ever. It went to 3xPlatinum on release, the Diamond in 1970 and 4 x platinum in 1999( 22 years after his death!) “ I’ll never walk alone was one of his personal favourite songs. Another super reaction as you take in the beauty and talent of Elvis. He does lift your spirit , people at his concerts said they often felt as though he was singing to them personally. 👌💕🕺
