This will hit a lot harder when you reach that point of the story. MHA has a highschool setting. Any anime set in highschool will have an sport festival (which I guess you already watched) and a cultural festival (in which this happens). Bakugou has surprinsingly high stats in things you wouldn't expect.

I kinda wished they put more money into the festival arc. It was much more impactful and fun for me in the manga, because I actually expected they would bring the same energy they put into fights. Unfortunately that didn't happen and not to mention they cut down the exam arc (deleted all meaningful narrations) and replaced a lot of scenes in Gentle arc (which was bad decision, as Gentle arc had one of the prettiest fights in the whole mang - best choreography and camera work).
