Yes, it's a real anime (2 seasons and a movie so far). Basically it's the casts of Re:Zero, Overlord, KonoSuba and Saga of Tanya the Evil getting isekai'd to a Japanese high school. And there are full versions of all 4 songs if you want to check them out.
The writers are all different, but Kadokawa made all the animes, and the writers of Re:Zero and Konosuba are close friends. And in season 2, they get special guests Shield Hero crew and the protagonists of "hero is overly strong but extremely cautious". Consider this 2 seasons of hilarious crossover.
Oh man, this show was like a dream come true. It's like one of those crazy ideas that you make with your friends but you think "They'd never do something like that" and then they just go and do it. My only gripe with the show is that the distribution of character screen time is a bit skewed.

This show is two seasons & a movie. All the anime involved were made by Kadokawa. It’s just a great comedy anime. I had only seen Konosuba before watching Isekai Quartet & it honestly got me into the other three. Definitely worth a watch. Especially after watching the main four series.

Yes this is a real show. It started out as a series of chibi bonus clips from Re:Zero. Then Kadokawa (the corporate overlord of anime) decided to make a fun cross over of their most popular titles. There are actually six shows in total that have characters in this show, but the four you mentioned are the main ones.

The Light Novels for these 4 anime (Re:Zero, Overlord, Konosuba and Tanya) are all under the same publisher (Kadokawa), so they did this spin-off comedy anime with their casts. It's actually very fun, so it ended up getting a 2 season with the addition of the "Rising of the Shield Hero" and "Cautious Hero" casts as cameos. Also, I believe it had a 3° season announcement.

i literally watched Tanya, Re-Zero and Konosuba just to watch this crossover with Overlord, i loved every one of it, but even that said, ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT! Best anime crossover in history :D
I would say Tanya is the odd one out seeing as how her show is pretty realistic while the other three are more of a fantasy setting. Although you could say that Ainz is the odd one out, him being a skeleton and the others being humans.
In a world of supernatural events, Kazuma is still the most normal and rational one. (Tanya is a almost normal, but she is still pretty extreme in her rationalizations and abilities) I think Tanya eats chocolate a few times in the anime. The one that comes to mind is when she talks to Ulger in the street café. One amazing thing with these character songs is that the artists are singing while altering their own voice to stay in-character.
Just imagine what kind of weird interaction can happen between an udead when he meet Aqua, a goddess that hate undead, and Tania who hate god and goddess. 😅
There are some series that are "technically co-canon", like _How Heavy are the Dumbbells you Lift_ and _Kengan Asura,_ where you'll get hints and inkling and maybe little shadows here and there, but they otherwise could work just as well as totally different universes. But then you have things like the Toaru universe. It started with the main story, _A Certain Magical Index,_ but then that spun off two side series; _A Certain Scientific Railgun_ and _A Certain Scientific Accelerator._ And the characters from all throughout the series will constantly show up in the other stories. Sometimes, you'll even see the same events from a different perspective depending on who the series' focus characters are. In Index, there was a certain fight involving the MC of Index helping one of the major deuteragonists, who is *also* the MC of Railgun. And they re-did that same fight in Railgun, too, but with slightly different perspective because you have a different focus character.

Isekei Quartet is just the BEST cross over ever. You should definitly give it a watch if you have finished all 4 (overlord, tanya, re:zero and konusuba) Its a "mini" series where they are getting pulled in a school like setting and its just amazingly funny. its 2 seasons with each 13 Episode but each episode only have 10 Minutes. also there is a movie
I'd say that Overlord isn't quite as big you seem to think it is, so I doubt it would win the votes on youtube for a considerable amount of time. That said, you're clearly very interested in it, so if you're gonna insist that it needs to be on youtube, I encourage you to just go for it. Actually, all 4 animes are extremely popular in Japan, I think all of them would have even more season if not by two limitations, takes time to create animations, and they lack source material

I have several stories where the anime One Piece crossed over with Dragon Ball and Toriko. This was a special time. Gintama and Sketdance had a crossover story in the original manga, and it was also broadcast in the anime. All of these original manga are published in Shueisha's magazine "Weekly Shonen Jump".

The main reason this exists is that all four shows are done by the same studio, so theres no loop holes to jump through to have them all on screen together

I've only previously watched Re:Zero and Konosuba before learning about Isekai Quartet, I knew I had to get through Overlord and Tanya asap before starting this random gem.
basically they're all an isekai anime by KADOKAWA so they decided to make this anime collab~ Studios and Publishers like making this sort of stuff, recently with the anime ONIMAI, in an episode where the MC entered a bookstore, the manga shown were all by ComicREX which is the manga's serialization partner

What the five series that comprise Isekai Quartet (Re:Zero, Overlord, Saga of Tanya the Evil, Konosuba, and then starting in S2 Rising of the Shield Hero) have in common is they are all isekai light novel series that are published by the Japanese media conglomerate Kadokawa. The premise of this series is a total fever dream... keeping in mind that each of the protagonists of the five series have all been isekaied into their story universes, the main characters of each of these series get isekaied into yet another universe where they all go to school together. It's just completely wild.
It is very real and very entertaining. Just in case you're confused... 'Isekai' refers to a ganre of anime where a charachter either gets Reincarnated or summoned to another world and this is a story of 4 isekai anime where the charachters get summoned to a high school so where in Japan and attend classes by the higher ups in those worlds. The interactions are comedy gold and I highly recommend you watch it once you've watched all 4 anime involved 👍🏻

The "A Certain" series of animes are connected, but they are directly connected. You have the main series "A Certain Magical Index" and the 2 spin off series "A Certain Scientific Railgun" (I like it better than Index) and "A Certain Scientific Accelerator".

There used to be a special episode where Ranma met Inuyasha and them stumble upon Lum and her "honey", but that make sense, since all 3 was created by the same writer and the main guy character was voiced by the same actor,
9:53 I don't know about an anime, I do know there's a manga series called Mayoi Neko Overrun! That has characters from another manga the mangaka made showing up in it, which is To Love-Ru, which I highly recommend watching the Openings and Endings to (It is a VERY cheeky anime series).
Luke, if memory serves me, Carnival Phantasm by Type-moon was the first to do an anime like this over a decade ago. It crossed over all the Type-Moon Nasuverse characters from Fate, Tsukihime, Garden of Sinners, etc. Since then we got Isekai Quartet 1 and 2, Attack on Titan High School, Chibi RWBY and a handful of others dipping their toes into the Chibi anime art style.I know there are a few others as well but can't recall them at the moment although there was one recently on Hidive.
To answer your question, there are occasional cross-over episodes in some shows, but this is the only anime I can recall at the moment, where it's literally just all the main characters from one show interacts with main characters from another show, and that's the entire show.

In Lucky Star there are a shitload of references to "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". Even have some of the characters in a couple scenes. but nothing like in Isekai Quartet. Also, Im convinced every female japanese voice actor can sing. The first ED for Quartet is really good. there's a full song on the youtube sung by the voice actors.
I'm not gonna spoil anything - all I'm gonna say Kazuma and Subaru "comparing notes" on living in their respective worlds is one of the funniest interactions in the series
Carnival Phantasm and Kaginado are other two "Anime" which are spin-off, crossing several Anime from a certain same company together. Isekai Quartet from KADOKAWA, Carnival Phantasm from TYPE-MOON, Kaginado from Key (Company). Next to that there are also regular Anime that just have a tons of references to other Anime, in which Gintama is one big-big Anime who does that. Others are Lucky☆Star, Hayate no Gotoku, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai/Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga nai (Haganai/OmeImo, well, these two were more, characters were shown as cameo in each other's Anime on a certain episode), One Punch Man/Mob Psycho 100 (and well, here it's just Mob Psycho 100 having Shigeo/Mob's phone wallpaper set to Saitama), Osomatsu-san, Aoi Sekai no Chuushin de (lot of references of real-life games, like from SEGA and Nintendo). There's also Isekai Oji-san, who is just more of a SEGA fanatic without much censors on SEGA and games and terms. There are for sure others/more which I haven't mentioned/knowOthers might have some fitting as well? 🤷♂
You'd "need" to watch Re:ZERO and Overlord to watch season 1, but in season 2 of Isekai Quartet, characters from "Shield Hero" appear as well, so do with that information what you will. I'd personally love a reaction to this show, maybe on your Twitch, after you've seen the included franchises first. Would fit well since it's a laid-back comedy all about the characters interacting with each other. Each episode is also 12 minutes long instead of 24 minutes, so you'd do 12 episodes in a row instead of 6 in a row like you usually do for streams
Yes it's a real anime and in the second season they also add The Rising of the Shield Hero. I think it's a pretty fun watch especially if you have watched all of the other anime's first.

Isekai is a type of anime, in those the main character dies and reincarnates in another world. Isekai quartet is a crossover of 4 (that turns into 5 later on with Shield Hero) isekais, it's a comedy and even so all the character are as cannon as possible with their personalities. They also use the chibi models to simplify it and unify in a unique artstyle, yes, it is a anime and has the duration of 10 minutes per episode, they're pretty free from spoilers too aside from the literal basic stuff you learn in the first 3 episodes of each anime
A lot of Japaneese VA's are also Singers. Also vice versa. A lot of singers have done VA at one point of their careers. You just need to search the internet and you will find songs from them. The VA of Tanja for example also plays a role in a music anime, where she voices one of the main characters, both in voice and singing. (Symphogear)

it takes place in another universe that they all got brought to. they make references to the 4 main shows plus some other Isekai's get cameos so watching them all is helpful although not entirely necessary . it's more of a fun tone show especially compared to the main shows.

So this is a short series made to kinda celebrate the "Isekai" genre of anime thats been surging for a while now. Isekai in japanese means "different world" and is usually used to refer to anime series where a character is sent to another world and has to live life there in whatever way. These 4 initial series are all isekai and are all published by the company Kadokawa. Im also pretty sure all the authors are good friends.
The only other anime I know of that had a direct crossover with another one, was that Zettai Karen Children had an episode featuring characters from Hayate the Combat Butler. Aside from that, crossovers are usually limited to works by the same artist, and are typically little easter eggs (someone in Mob Psycho 100 reading an issue of One Punch Man, Yu Yu Hakusho keychains being sold by street vendors in Hunter x Hunter, etc)

9:50 apart from Gintama parodying different shows, crossovers in anime are usually cameos in background or the characters reading/watching another anime that is done by the same studio or owned by the same copyright company like Kadokawa in this case. full crossovers like this are rarely a full show tho usually just a special or a movie.
Japan is actually usually pretty okay with crossover and references to other anime - as long as permissions have been asked for and granted. It's not that uncommon to have giant crossover specials between anime from the same companies (like various Shonen Jump properties) as well as things like Video Games and such. Super Robot Wars for example, is a game series that has been going on since the Gameboy that is a giant crossover between basically every single robot anime out there. And even it is technically a spin off of an older series of games involving Ultraman and Godzilla and other Super Sentai and Tokusatsu shows crossing over. Isekai Quartet is special in that it's one of the first long form crossovers. Most things are just simple references, or a one off special or movie here and there, not a full anime season.
I know of two examples of anime crossovers and they both take series from the same studio. It is pretty well known most of the series from CLAMP happen in the same universe, so you can see characters from other series pop up, from time to time. But the biggest crossover series (second to isekai quartet) is probably Carnival Phantasm, who takes type moons stable of rather serious and heavy serious and mixes them into a hilarious gag series.
