Yes, J-hope album's Jack in the box is so unique and demanding in many ways. All the members had carte blanche for their solo projects but J-Hope took full opportunity to explore and express a darker, edgier side of his personality that we never saw before. My favorite song on the album is Pandora's box, it's not a song that is mentioned often by fans as their favorite but it's a jewel musically. I admire Hobi so much for coming up with an alternative album without thinking about commercial considerations. I'm glad you appreciate his craft. ✨️

1. I've been waiting for your reaction to this song for so long! I knew you were going to enjoy it. This is why ARMY always say that BTS is beyond K-pop. They explore so many genres both as a group and as solo artists. 2. The 10-track album that contains "More", called "Jack in the Box", is a masterpiece. The concept, the message, the lyrics, the music, all tells a cohesive story from beginning to end. It's worth doing an album reaction, it's only 22 minutes long. J-hope is known as the sunshine of the group and his songs prior to this album reflect that persona. But he explores darker themes and concepts in this album, so that's why you get that sinister vibe. 3. J-hope's 70-minute Lollapalooza performance is fire. The songs were rearranged to have a rock vibe, especially the first half. He killed it on that stage. He's a consummate performer. As the first BTS member who officially debuted as a solo artist last year, he set the bar really high. 4. There's a video essay called "BTS are rockstars" by boracity magazine. The creator, who's a rock/metal fan, explores why she stans BTS, and the similarities between BTS and rock/metal bands. Near the beginning she compiles snippets of BTS/members songs with rock elements; I'm sure you'll find songs there that you'll want to listen in full.

Yes I would highly recommend BTS are Rockstars by Bora city Magzine as well. There's a huge amount of ARMY who are Rock and Heavy Metal fans.

I would say that you have the BTS ARMY mentality, which is to love and support all seven of the members, way more than any solo stan that visits your comments section. ARMY's do not condone or accept that kind of behavior. J-Hope is an amazing and versatile artist. We love his vocal grit, and his project really surprised us. It's quite a bit different from his last project HOPE WORLD, Please react to his title track ARSON. I think you will like that one a lot as well. I look forward to you discovering J-Hope's versatility. And discovering more of BTS. I can't wait for your reaction to SNOOZE, it's one of my favorite Agust D songs

This was a pleasent shock for me when I first heard it. I love rock and I didn't expect to hear this rock sound from J Hope. I was blown away. What a great song.

JHope is my bias and this album was such a pleasant surprise. But I'm so happy that they're all together and I'm a proud ARMY for all their solo works. Indigo is a masterpiece imho. JK is killin' it, right now. Such an exciting time for ARMY. 💜💜💜

Thank you for a great reaction! Please don’t pay attention to those that are telling you that you need to like a specific member. Those people aren’t true Army. If you are a true Army you appreciate and like all seven members!These young men are all so different in their individual musicality. If you could would you please check out V’s slow dancing just to get an idea of how different they are. He is considered the old soul of the group. He likes Jazz ,r&b and neo soul and has a very unique voice. I’m a71 year old grandmother who did not like rap but RM, Suga, and J-Hope have totally changed my mind! Thanks again and enjoy your journey discovering BTS!

You'll love his performance at Lollapalooza. JHope had a live band and the songs just rocked the whole time. I read stories of people that were at other stages (and had no idea who JHope or BTS was) and heard the crowd, the music and saw the light bombs and had to go over to JHope's stage to see what was going on. Most were very happy they went to see the performance. The 'complaints' were people saying they didn't understand him, but that the 'vibe was good'.

Also, whenever you get into reacting to live performances, I think you will really enjoy J-Hopes Lollapolooza performance. Based on what you said you enjoyed about 'More', I think that live would be perfect for your tastes. He performed a lot of songs and the live band had a gritty feel that added a bit of stank even to his songs that weren't from this album.

If you think this was "polorazing in kpop" you should listen to BTS's entire first EP + Ma City + Boy In Love + Danger + Not Today + Persona + Dionysus + countless others that I can't even name right now. This is why army say BTS are not kpop. Kpop is just one part of their identity and as artists they explore and push boundaries of what kpop is supposed to be. And they have been doing that since debut. I've recommended this in the past since you're a metalhead and I've seen ppl recommend it as well, boracity's video "bts are rockstars" does an amazing job at presenting BTS in aspects that are similar and different from rock star and from kpop acts, for me the most glaring one is the social commentary present in all of their music.

Interesting that you got a Joker vibe from this. This song is from his album 'Jack In The Box' and the art direction of how he was styled, the album artwork, the merch, the live performances, etc all leaned into the dark clown aesthetic and the jack in the box toy mixed with the story of Pandora's Box. This MV is a two parter. Arson is the continuation. I'm glad that you are being firm and clear that you aren't supporting solos. Because they are so obsessive, they tend to come in big numbers the more reactors cater to them and it means more views. There are many channels who tried to keep solos happy to avoid backlash or losing views and that just made the space toxic and shallow over time. Don't waste your breath trying to tell them that BTS is a group and they should be respected as a unit. Many of them are delusional and ignore their fave members whenever they say that they love their brothers. Solos think it's all a lie and BTS secretly hate each other and they're constantly trying to get the company to disband them so their faves can be "free". It's weird and toxic and borderline abusive the way they act. The best thing you can do is be honest and avoid pandering to them. You're doing well standing your ground. They will try to dictate what you say and what you watch and how you react.

I’m sorry the solos found you. We dont claim them. The diversity in the BTS solo projects all unique and amazing never stop blowing me away. JHope especially went way outside the lane one might expect from the guy nicknamed the “sunshine/happy pill of BTS”. His song Arson goes as hard and he headlined Lolapalloza with this album in an unforgettable set. The whole album is a damn mind blowing substance filled concept. Jack in the Box this the joker and box themes. He’s felt confined in a box of expectations and broke out. I’m so obsessed. His flow is him dancing on the beat totally unique. Can’t high enough recommend the whole album and his live solo concert which has a live band and is more rock intense live. He commanded the crowd of about 110k people.

BTS does all kinds of genres. Hip-hop, edm, pop, rap ballads, etc. Too bad people have a misconception of what they think K-pop is. It's an industry, not a genre. You will li,e jhope Arson since it is also on the darker side.
