Outside of “making love in the rain,” this is my favorite Janet track (yes I know it’s Herb Alpert) It’s the aura the production gives off more than anything. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are unreal

You are right that she didn't use any of the current new jack swing or the emerging hip-hop soul sound of Uptown Records on this. It's just pure Janet.

Michael Jackson is a king and Janet Jackson is the queen a pop music of the culture Kings and Queens a lot of people is not respecting Janet Jackson but she's my favorite I don't care what nobody say I love her to death as the same as I love Aaliyah and other female artists everybody always put Beyonce out all the time and not putting Jenna Jackson out you know

I love Janet to death but Madonna is the real Queen of Pop. And its funny cuz I always thought Janet was like the black version of Madonna down to the singing style, pop hits, dance routines and acting career, plus neither were great vocalists but still put it in. Janet is just ONE of the Queens of Black Pop (if you wanna call that a category) along with Diana Ross, Beyonce and Whitney Houston.

@@Israel-nb7ip Actually Janet is MUCH MORE than the QUEEN of pop. Janet Jackson has attained 10 hot 100 singles, 16 hot r&b #1 singles, 20 hot dance/club #1 singles . She is the only artist in history to produce 7 top five hits from one album (Rhythm Nation). Holds the record for the most top 10 entries on U.S. Billboard 100 single chart . And last but not least, Janet Jackson is one of only 3 artists that have had #1 ALBUMS in EACH of the last 4 decades,the other 2 are Barbara Streisand and Bruce Springsteen. Madonna is not at Janet's level YET, MAYBE she can reach Janet's level one day.

@@Winnib7479 lol Madonna isn't on Janet's level? Ok...check the numbers since you want to detail accomplishments. Madonna is the highest selling female artist of all time irrespective of genre having sold more than 250 million albums. She's in a category with The Beatles, Elvis, Michael Jackson, etc. The only other woman in that category is Rihanna and that's mostly cuz she came up in an era that includes digital sales and streams. I love Janet but you're delusional. Madonna is her own individual music entity.

A incredible song. This song came with a special ambiance during this song. This RnB ballad was a very good love song and also a calm voice during the song. Not a ballad traditionnal like ''Again'' and ''Where Are You Now'', this ballad have a new sound of ballad. This song was timeless. For info, the music video exist two version, one with the original version and a another with the R. Kelly remix. The song also released in single and peaked n.2 in US charts

This was my favorite song off this album. I was 18 when I copped this the day it dropped and remember liking it but not thinking it was a great album and I played it a lot especially in my college dorm room when girls were hanging out. Gotta give it another listen to see if its evolved to classic status over time. A lot of people who call things classic are usually just hype off the nostalgia of their youth or whatever they were going through at the time. To me a classic is much more than that.
