He left to go skiing and he got on the Ajax chair on Aspen mountain and the song just came to him. He skied down and came home and wrote it down... Initially it was a love song and it was given to me through him, and yet for him it became a bit like a prayer." "

This man was a legend. He was one of the greatest singer/songwriters in music history. He had one of the most beautiful voices that can soar to a counter Tenor high. You must go down the Rabbitt Hole that is the late great Folk Rocker John Denver. Great reaction. Now you understand why the people gave him such an ovation. Priceless! This song has also become a wedding march for people around the world. .

I had all his albums as a teen and still have them. His music got me through all those difficult teen hormones and coming of age issues. I will love his music forever.

I love watching reactions to this beautiful song. His love of nature was deep, and to describe his love for Annie as being as meaningful and those senses in nature shows how pure that love was. I still hurt from his early death. What a loss it is. Please listen to his song "Rocky Mountain High". It'll touch your soul, too.

John wrote this for is wife Annie. It is beautiful. John often use nature as a way to express his joy in life and the wirkd ariubd.He was a master singer and songwriter and a wonderful person. He has a huge catalo of original songs and songs given to hin=m by friends that composed the music for. Have fun. Knew what yor reaction would be! It showed on your facece.John is nolonger with use He died in a planed accident in 1977. He was only 53 years old.

If you enjoyed this (which he wrote in 10 minutes on a ski lift after a row with his wife) then you will love the live version of 'For You' from his 'Wildlife Concert' . John Denver is a great singer and song writer with loads of fantastic songs. He sounds just as good live as he does on the studio versions.He is more a folk singer than country singer. John died far too young and the world is a worse place because of this.

I remember John Denver and some of his music.if I'm not mistaken he died in a plane crash ,many years ago.

I still have the LP rocky mountain high album( vinal record long player) 12 inch records are generally manufactured for full-length (LP) albums. At 33 rpm they hold around 15-22 minutes per side. 33 rpm is the most common speed for 12 inch records. Yes I'm an old git lol. The funny thing is as a young lad I would sing Annie's song with a bit of a change lol You fill up my senses. Like a night in the pig farm.And it stuck.
