I have to say that I have watched a ton of reactions to Phil Collins!!! You have the most Authentic reaction!!! The anticipation in this song is like no other!!! He is my generation, I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in that era!!! I can tell your reaction was genuine!!! Thank you 💥💥💥💥💥
One of the greatest musicians of all time. He is right up there with my other favorite entertainers Bee Gees..Phil Collins susidio albumn was amazing as well
Mugnify... The intensity of his stare (he's pissed and he'll never be the same) and just his Posture and his Pace... I wish we could have seen it on screen more, Mug... It was a vignette of pain and emotional reckoning playing out that ought not to have been missed by the audience...💕JUST SAYING...one and only...🙋🌹GA USA 🇺🇸✌️
One of the premiere drummers of all time!!! Never piss this man off or he'll write a song about it and the whole world will know!!! A gift from the Music Gods!!!🎶🎼🎵🥁🥁🥁🥁🎸🎹🎤🎙🎧🤘🤘🤘
He's the drummer for this band. It always makes me laugh a little. It's why I watch the reactions for this song. That stage has two of the best drummer on the planet. Match made in heaven Phil Collins and Chester Thompson. Search their drum battles, they're amazing together. Phil is left handed and Chester is Right. It's amazing to watch.
He recorded the album in his basement after his divorce and played most of the instruments as well as writing the songs. He is known as a drummer and believe me, it isn't easy singing and drumming at the same time. Phil Collins, songwriter, singer, drummer, actor all around performer.
im going to beg to differ on the playing drums and singing at the same time. i've known many drummers through my years of roadieing and most of them can be seen singing along while playing. what might be more true is being GOOD at singing while playing the drums. (sorry Ringo Starr but its true lol) 😉
@@s4ss1n my mother used to go to the bingo Hall with Ringos mum....😳 I'm a scouser 😊 and yeah, Ringo could NOT sing bless him..😊 but he was probably the "real" Working Class Hero John sang about, Ringo grew up dirt poor, John lived on Menlove avenue with his auntie Mimi, Paul wasn't poor either, George's background was OK too, but Ringo was the little scally amongst them..I was SO happy he married Barbara Bach, she loved the real Ringo, who was quite an idiot at times. 😊
@@annettemoore7264 ringo is my favourite beatle, damn good drummer and unfortunately terrible singer lol even though he knew the words and would mumble along while drumming. but hey, none of the other beatles did thomas the tank engine so who is the real winner 😜
Oh I LOVE your genuine, fun, happy, joyous reaction. Thank you so much. The more I hear this (& I heard it when it 1st came out!), the more I love it. Epic. ❤😁💕
That was in a time when artists could sing, dance, play instruments while actually singing and without autotune...I saw this same performance in Florida on his First Final Farewell Tour and the entire concert was amazing. He sang (perfectly) the whole night...fantastic live performer! One of the best for sure!
💯 Now all you need to get a recording contract is a large social media following, autotune and AI will do the rest. No singing ability or real instruments needed.
Was lucky to see Phil on his Both Sides Tour, the Big Band Tour (which was a complete departure and a blast!), Dance Into The Light Tour, and the First Final Farewell Tour. ALso lucky enough to see him with Genesis twice, including The Last Domino. He is ridiculously fun to watch live, even when he couldn't stand anymore.
Unfortunately, we'll never see him perform like this ever again. Phil can no longer even hold his drum sticks or walk for that matter. He has severe nerve damage. But he really had an amazing career. He was just the drummer in Genesis. When lead Peter Gabriel left the group for a successful solo career they couldn't find a lead that was a good fit. But they found their lead in their drummer. Phil IS Genesis! Just like Peter Cetera IS Chicago. Glad you reacted to this one. Like I said in the other. No matter how many times I watch this video I always feel like he isn't going to make it to his drum set LOL. Which is ridiculous, I know LOL
In Gabriel's Genesis, he wasn't just the drummer. He also sang backing vocals and harmonies with Peter. When Peter left, they tried to hire a new lead. After teaching all the applicants the parts for their auditions, it became clear that Phil was the one to fill Peter's shoes. When you listen to the old Genesis with Phil, it's sometimes hard to tell when Peter is singing or when it's Phil.
Just like John Fogerty was CCR. It's funny, a few years back during a conversation with my sister I asked "If I say Genesis what's the first thing that comes to mind?" Without missing a beat (no pun intended) she said Phil Collins. When I asked the same of The Eagles, instead of Don Henley, she named a song. Now I mean no disrespect to Don Henley. I personally love him. My point here is that yes, sometimes the individual makes the band. As Phil Collins definitely did. ❤
I never tire of this video. The balance of solos, lighting, and vocal interaction-It's like "the perfect storm" of live performances. Thanks for featuring it.
There's a reason we watch reaction videos; to see a reaction!! And usually the bigger the reaction, the more fun it is to watch if it's genuine and yours was great.
I saw this concert in Hartford Connecticut with my son when he was probably like 11 years old and it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I absolutely love Phil Collins and Genesis probably most of my life and I had to see them back. I think it was like maybe 2007 around there and that concert was freaking amazing and after every concert they have a digital download of the concert that you went to! I think my son said that that was one of the best times he ever had in his life but he’s told me that a lot!
THAT'S a great memory to have made with your kiddo ❤️ He will have those memories tucked into his heart through his lifetime. There's truly nothing more precious that we can leave for our children than beautiful memories for them to hold onto. ♥️
Hi there Mugs. I Love Phil collins!! My first ever slow dance was to his song ONE MORE NIGHT. I actually have a couple of his albums on 8 track. Lol. Great reaction.
This reaction is the best I've seen! 😀 amazing song and performance from Phil, I bloody love him! Give his song 'Easy Lover' with Philip Bailey (from the group Earth Wind and Fire) a go, it's so good!
Love this reaction!! Please do more Phil! You won't be disappointed 😁 Here's some of my favorites; Sussudio, I wish it would rain down, In too deep, Something happened on the way to heaven, Groovy kind of love, I can't dance, Two hearts, You'll be in my heart, Do you remember, Easy lover, Against all odds, Another day in paradise, One more night, Mama & sooo many more 😁🎶😁 And yes, the lives tend to be better than the studio version lol, he's just magical🎶🥰🎶
The studio version of this song is great but this performance takes it to a completely different level!! My all time best live performance of any song!!
its like phil plucks your sould out of your body to another dimension and holds you there then you land back in your body. then you are like 'did that just happen'??? AWESOME feels like an understatement.
Yes, you have that right. I heard that it was from him seeing someone drowning and watching someone else letting them drown which is false. You have the right meaning of the song. It was like a great release to be able to leave and never turn back to someone who is Not meant to be with you due to cheating. This is one of my Favorite Phil Collins songs. I did this song on my TikTok. Now to subscribe to this channel....
The 'Face Value' version (1980) is epic and made Phil's name as a soloist. But THIS! Another level. AND LIVE! 2004 just amazing performance. Never tire of hearing this tune. FIRE! (so is your reaction)
Phil Collins was arguably the biggest rock artist of the ‘80’s. He was everywhere back then and his songs were amazing. He was the drummer for the English rock band Genesis, and then reluctantly became its lead singer and eventually a solo artist, although I don’t think he ever left Genesis. He probably had more hits than anyone that decade and was one of the best ever. He could really command and audience’s attention. I’m glad a new generation is discovering him.
HON... YOU GO ON PLAYING AIR DRUMS ALL YOU WANT... And you backtracking for a second hit was exactly what everyone in the audience was thinking and needed...WE GOOD...💥💕🙋🌹 GA USA 🇺🇸✌️
I've watched this performance dozens of times now and watched several reactions and it does not get old😂 I still get goosebumps and feel the thrills everytime...and NO ONE can NOT air drum to this! I remember saving up y allowance to buy his first solo album and trying to record it off the radio, back when they released singles only to the radio for weeks before the album dropped. Watching people having their own "moved by the gods of music" moments when hearing and watching this for the first time is fabulous. It proves good music is good music. We all know it when we hear it. Phil Collins is the blueprint! Just the most incredible drummer ever and amazing song creator. Which makes sense, drummers have to be all about the timing. The fact that he can sing and command a room, too...all gravy❤
Lol...I loved your reaction to this!! This song, when I hear it, reminds me of the TV show Miami Vice...I loved it!! I actually cried through laughing as soon as Phil started on those drums...Your reaction was genuine, priceless!!! You can rewind it back as much as you want...I was rocking with you!!! ❤
