If you doubt Rick's musical genius, see Eddie Murphy ( Party All The Time ), The Temptations ( Standing On The Top ), Teena Marie (Sucka For Your Love & De Ja Vu ), Maria Carey ( All My Life ), both Mary Jane Girls albums, and others . Rick is doing something, that is called SCATTING , Ionly the most capable and soulful artist are good at it,obviously Rick James is one of those that can scat . Most artist ,band and performers lip sync and pretend to play instruments in their music videos! Just for shits and giggles Rick James plays piano,synthesizers,clavinet,Fender Rhodes, 12 & 6 string acoustic and electric, and bass guitars . Rick also play harmonica,drums and sitar, & percussion.
