The song is from the film Highlander. It comes in the moment of the story when his first love dies and the Highlander is alone. Over time the song has gained in emotional weight and Adam’s performance gives it such a layer of genuine feeling.
Adam brings his own flair to Queens songs, paying homage to Freddy but making them his own as well. This is a stunning version of this song... and seriously when Brian May and the others deem you worthy to step into those shoes you have to be something pretty dang special.
I've been a Queen fan since 1974 (yes I'm THAT old!) I never got to see Queen with Freddie live but I did get to see Queen with Adam live, and it was electric! Adam hits all the notes and when they show the video of Freddie it's so emotional. Adam isn't trying to be Freddie or take his place, he's just keeping his memory alive and helping to bring Queen's music to each new generation. Fantastic! ❤
I am catching up, you know, summer with family? Anywho, Adam Lambert is the real deal, I honestly cannot think of a better vocalist or a better person, to do what he does with Queen. You can tell they have a special relationship, you see it in interviews and you see it on Instagram. I think Adam has learned a whole lot from Queen and I also think that the members of Queen found something rare and special in Adam. And I honestly believe that Freddie Mercury is loving this situation because there is not a doubt in my mind that he would have loved Adam. I remember the day Freddie Mercury died, it was terrible, and I don’t wish to wait around to acknowledge talent until it is too late. Love Adam and love Queen and love Adam with Queen! T ✌🏻

Adam is phenomenal and the only acceptable substitute for Freddie!!! ❤ That was made clear right from Adam’s performance with Queen on the Idol stage way back when. Brian and Roger were spot on with their choice of Adam as lead of Queen going forward!!! Cannot wait to see him as a judge on the Australian Voice this year!!!

Finally checked that one off my bucket list last fall in Nashville where we saw Queen with Adam. The energy in the room is unbelievable! Just amazing! Adam is phenomenal ❤
Me too! Still cannot believe he didn’t win…but then again, do any of us remember who actually won that year? Adam’s talent and career so far has made damned sure we never remember that he didn’t take out top spot on Idol. 😂😂😂

When I saw Queen and Adam Lambert in Denmark in 2015 it was outstanding. Being there when Queen came along way back and also when Adam took u’s with storm, it was an honor to see them together. What a concert it was. Thanks for showing this wonderful song. All the best, Snug😊
"My God" was my exact response when first seeing this one. The fact that they dedicated it to the Pulse Nightclub massacre makes it even more touching. It's a special moment in time. Then SuperFruit (Scott and Mitch of PTX) did a cover of Rise by Katy Perry and it also was in response to the massacre. Two very moving dedications. I loved your reaction. Thank you!
I really want to see Queen someday but they never get close enough to where I live. I don’t know if anyone has brought this up already but he was also on Glee and there’s a few fun performances there. I Believe In a Thing Called Love, Rockstar, Marry the Night.

He does that spectacularly and with so much emotion, I know Brian May wrote it, but he said Adam's version is mind-blowing and he would find himself being in awe of what Adam does with the song, he forgets he has to play the guitar!
Doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen this video I am awestruck every time by Adam’s unbelievable vocal range & power! With Roger on the drums & Brian May on the guitar, this performance is absolute perfection!

Nick, Thank you for this reaction. I try never to miss a reaction to Adam that you do. I really wish that you would react to Adam singing with KISS from his American Idol days. It’s hard to hold the stage with them, much less eclipse them in some ways, but Adam does. I paid 3x for another reactor to do this performance, and he never did, so I got fleeced out of my money, for sure. Live and learn, I guess…. Anyway, I always appreciate your enjoyment of and respect for the performer!

Ouuf... Just read about that HATE-Crime at Pulse Night Club. So much worse than I heard when it happened. I'm a bit surprised to discover that the person that murdered so many is buried (according to Wiki) at the "Muslim Cemetery of South Florida, Hialeah Gardens, Florida, U.S." Feels a bit strange that someone that murdered 49 people and wounded 53 others should have a memorial place. Adam has the most amazing voice. And he is a beautiful man (yes, I know he is gay). Shame that he hasn't been given the due acknowledgement when so many inferior singers are being put on a pedestal (yep, Sam Smith being one of them).
He has a good voice he doesn't have the voice for a rock singer I agree with Gene Simmons the same thing he has a good voice but he don't have a voice for a rock band and he could never ever hit the notes that Freddie Mercury could hit Florida George Michaels
No, just no. Good voice, too much show. It's simply lacking the depth and class. If he writes his own songs might be better. But I doubt it. Gabriel Henrique has insane vocal talent, yet he will end up singing at small events if he is lucky. Lambert is going to be pushed forward a bit longer though. For all the wrong reasons.
He is the finest, most extraordinarily exceptional vocalist of our time. A truly rare talent. Absolutely masterful. No one has pushed Adam Lambert forward. His phenomenal vocals have pushed him forward. He’s the best in the world without ANY doubt. He doesn’t need any luck. No one can reach him.
@@annette175 Well, people know him, may be not you, but that doesn't matter, does it? Nobody who came out of a entertaining TV show has been taken seriously. Including Lambert. They are used for the wrong reasons.
