I am Japanese female. I’ve been listening to :Western metal like Iron Maiden since teenage never into Japanese rock&metal. 30 years later, Boom these gorgeous musicians came out where I live., and they are all girls!! What a fantastic surprise!!
good reaction bro, Their live performance is much better and will make you fall in love. Please check the live video called "five of a kind"concert for the next reaction : Lovebites - Thunder Vengeance Lovebites - Holy War Lovebites - We The United Lovebites - The Hammer Of Wrath Lovebites - Raise Some Hell FYI - Their songs are inspired from 80s heavy metal such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest etc and several European power metal bands. - became the first (Japanese) female band to appear on Wacken, Bloodstock and Graspop - won the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 in the best new band category - they toured with Dragonforce last year in the UK
@@TheMetalMixtape If you do Shadowmaker... then rather than doing music video, do the LIVE from this link (2020 Five of a kind concert): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QREnuWkGz-0.html
Interestingly both guitarists started playing relatively late. Midori who plays the white ESP started when she was twenty and Miyako, who plays the Dean started at eighteen. Miyako also trained has trained as a classical pianist from the age of three and plays a mean bass. Miyako is the maib songwriter and arranger abnd you can hear influences of Chopin and Rachmaninof in some of her compositions for Lovebites. They are now both in their mid to late twenties. Before Lovebites both played in death metal/metalcore bands. Check out Lovebites "Epilogue", "We the United" and "Thunder Vengance" (all live recordings). Other all female Japanese bands you should check out are Aldious, Mary's Blood, Doll$Boxx, Gacharic Spin and Asterism and D_Drive which are mixed male/female bands.
These women shine live. Pick songs from concerts “Battle in the east”, “Wacken”, “Daughters of the dawn” and “Five of a kind (2020)”. Avoid Bloodstuck (bad audio). My suggestions: - Hammer of wrath - When destinies align - Signs of deliverance - Shadow maker - Rising - Thunder vengeance - Epilogue - Dancing with the devil - Swan song - Empty daydream - Edge of the world - Break the wall - Raise some hell - Crusade - Under the red sky
I got into this band about 6-7 months ago and have not stopped listening. There are so many layers to their music. They have it all. Great musicians, songwriters, lyricists, and vocals. They are even better live. Good songs to react to are The Crusade, Shadowmaker, Break the Wall and Edge of the World. Actually, any song you pick of theirs are great to react to.
a priceless reaction. pure joy. a big thank you, omar. thanks helping to spread their music.I love these ladies too. I hope they´ll get the recognition they derserve. check out "holy war live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020". and have a chilled and happy sunday. ❤
one of only a couple of bands i've witnessed in 67 years of life that is even better live. if you can react to stuff from either the'daughters of the dawn' concert or the 'five of a kind' concert you need to see them. songs are 'hammer of wrath' , break the wall, empty daydream and especially scream for me [their tribute to bruce dickinson]. thunder vengeance , holy war, signs of deliverance, mv's for shadowmaker, the crusade, golden destination, and the first mv from 2017 don't bite the dust.you WON'T be sorry
Thanks for an enjoyable reaction. I like the popup comments by you during 'play'. Though not often mentioned 'out loud' 4:40 uplifting music, uplifting lyrics. The LOVEBITES difference...
LOVEBITES - Signs Of Deliverance - LIVE, LOVEBITES - Edge Of The World - LIVE (slowly at first, then it builds up violently), LOVEBITES - We The United - LIVE, LOVEBITES Swan Song - LIVE, primary the Videos from ZEPP DiverCity Tokyo (Five Of A Kind)
LOVEBITES - Epilogue LIVE LOVEBITES - Break The Walls LIVE LOVEBITES - Thunder Vengeance LIVE LOVEBITES - Dancing With The Devil - LIVE LOVEBITES - HOLY WARS - LIVE LOVEBITES - Golden Destination - (Official Music Video)
@@ChrisPage68 😁 actually all songs are great, at live concerts I would only avoid Bloodstock, because they had nasty sound problems, monitor system + in-ears were a total disaster, they were just unlucky, they could hardly hear each other, there were probably also communication problems with the sound guy, they didn't want to be unfriendly and then they nodded, it just happens sometimes! As far as I can see, they have now purchased an independent custom in-ear monitoring + instrument wireless system from Samson 🤨🤔
Great reaction!!! Next!!! LOVEBITES / SWAN SONG (FIVE OF A KIND Live) LOVEBITES / Thunder Vengeance(Official live MV) LOVEBITES / Holy War(Official live MV)
What an awesome reaction to an awesome band. Two freaking years ago I was trying so hard to get reactors to react to Lovebites and now I see them everywhere, some good and other to damn critical. Those who are critical are those who don’t like Asami’s voice which is phenomenal, screw them is all I gotta say, when there are guys like you buddy knows true talent when they see it. Obviously you have been directed to the live shows of the beautiful young ladies only avoid bloodstock shows horrible sound. Best bet are the live shows from Tokyo you can’t go wrong there. Miyako and Madori are two of the best shredders that I seen in a very long time.
Recommend Thunder Vengeance live from their official channel. It opened the show for their new concert bluray. Follow that up with Holy War live, also on their channel, which they just released and was the second song of the night after Thunder Vengeance. Both kick ass.
Man did your eyes light up. From the first riff to the last riff you were hooked. That coda on the end was killer. You are right about the structure of the songs. Excellent phrasing. Miyako did the music and a lot of the arrangement on this song. Next video Thunder Vengeance live, then Holy War live and Swan Song live. Here is a video link of just Miyako playing Gary Moore's Parisienne Walkways ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bMmkDttnR7k.html and note the range and precision of her feeling and technique. Let me introduce you to Lovebites lineup. From left to right. Midori (with white guitar) - Lead/Rhythm guitar Miho - Bass Asami - Lead Vocals Miyako (with Dean guitar) - Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Keyboards, Piano Haruna - Drums and percussion Band-Maid is a bit more hard rock and I can hear a bit of Aerosmith while Lovebites is heavy metal of many influences. In Thunder Vengeance you will hear a heavier vibe similar to classic Metallica. I won't say which band is better because they are both awesome. Looking forward to more of your reactions.
Much love Charles. Thanks for the comment. Tomorrow i will be doing another video. Can you suggest a song that it awesome but doesnt get enough credit? Or gets reacted to much ?
@@TheMetalMixtape We the United ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i9OEaVapKcE.html would be a real good one. From Zepp DiverCity Tokyo concert 2019. This is a fun song to watch them perform live. Another song is Empty Daydream ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lXh_uMM94jU.html where you get to hear Miyako play piano (which she started on at the really old age of 3). This
Nice reaction dude you just sow the winners of the 2018 year in category for best new metal band. Lovebites are formed in 2016 by bassist Miho and the drummer Haruna. I gonna recommend some songs from the last concert Five of kind in Zepp Diversity Tokyo from this year. Because you want to see live just check the open show song Thunder vengeance, then Rise some hell, Signs of deliverance, Swan song, Holy war. I'm stopping here, the all concert is mind blowing stuff. By the way the last album Electric pentagram from this year is nominated for one of the best 20 albums for 2020. Stay safe and stay metal
Every track is good, if I had to suggest I'd be at a loss but if I needed to pick like if my life depended on it. I'd say the wolfpack anthem "we the united' or "set the world on fire" depending how bad you want to be shredded from existance lol. Your reaction was prime and genuine, hope to see more
Great reaction. For a great live video, check out "Thunder Vengeance." If you want to see the Japanese Queen of Shred, watch Mary's Blood. "Marionette" is a good introduction to them so you can get a great guitar solo from Saki. She is an amazing metal guitarist.
That promotion to the mainstage was last minute and is why the sound is not mixed well and the cameras don't know who is soloing, etc (unprepared crew). Unfortunate for the video, but great that they got the exposure at that festival on mainstage. I think the setlist is same as Wacken, which has better sound & camera work even though that gig is at 12 noon! Starts with pre-recorded The Awakening into The Hammer of Wrath, one of their best thrash, lots of transitions & breaks, Flawless. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MXQ0PjOKmHw.html Looking forward to them coming to Oregon.
Thunder Vengeance, and Break the Wall are straight thrash, they automatically get compared to each of big 4, & Testament. But also have a deep purple/Whitesnake/Judas Priest song, and one that makes me think Michael Jackson, one straight power ballad, and quite a few garyMoore/thinlizzy blues Rick sections... but they always run home to symphonic powermetal, Helloween with a smidge of nightwish.
The bass lines have definitely changed with Fami. More detailed and intricate. Asami's voice is the best I've heard from her. Miyako & Midori seem tighter, especially Miyako with a bump up in speed. And Haruna note intricate with her cymbal work.
MY first reaction...oh noooo, another one starting with a music video... Everything they do is even better live! And avoid the festival videos, with bad sound. I dont know what is up on RU-vid, but they have three whole concerts released on discs. Many checked the opener to last one...Thunder Vengeance
Believe me morgan I usually dont do a video version first but a subscriber who comments on all my videos reccomend this video so I want to show some love and did it. I usually do live videos first but next I will 😀
No loss in the lives ... Band Maids lives alnost sound like new vwtsions of the studio track, Lovebites goes the other way in that their lives are almost identical to the studio track... which is absolutely amazing and appreciated.
Under the Red Sky is my fav. Maybe better to hear more from them first; a balladyish one, a thrash one, and one with classical piano. It doesn’t have these things, yet was inspired by Rachmaninov, has piped in choir(&synth maybe), plus it references two of their earlier songs, so it’s best to know them a bit first. And the composition is awesome, and matches the (subtitled on the live) lyrics, about hope in the face of nuclear explosion (lyrical sequel to their Apocalypse, which is underrated because it has no video)
If you want Lovebites Live, I believe there are 2 main videos people will be (rightfully) recommending to you: "Holy War" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bgAxpEpEcno.html) [which is my recommendation as well] "Thunder Vengance" (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yWE7PqCpGi4.html) [which is also awesome]
"Scream for me" LIVE "Swan Song" LIVE "Thunder Vengeance" LIVE "Holy War" LIVE "Epilogue" LIVE "We the united" LIVE DO NOT Watch lives from BLOODSTOCK concert. The audio was god awful and setting was not optimal. It does not do justice for them.
You want subscribers? Do more Band-Maid, Lovebites, BABYMETAL, Aldious, Mary's Blood, Unlucky Morpheus, Bridear, Doll Boxx, Show-ya. All from Japan. I have subscribed. Note Aldious has a new lead singer I think she had a health issue. So you'll have to listen to old as well as new stuff new singer sounds great but it's not quite the same but both good I linked stuff here but I have no idea how to. Old dude who is technically challenged but does loves his music hard and loud. Have you heard the band The Hu? They're from Mongolia....
@@TheMetalMixtape your reactions I've watched deserve my subscription. This November I'll be retired 3 years and about 2 years ago That's when I discovered all this great Japanese music via my daughter and also went headfirst into RU-vid reactions. Back then I went a little overboard and subscribing and I still got a bunch I probably from a year or more ago that I need to someday get around to unsubscribing but keep up the good work and I'll be there for you
Aldious is actually recently on their third singer, my fav. First one had the hits, second one stayed a long time (easy to spot, long blonde hair) My personal fav is Doll$Boxx. They get full metal cred from musicians, asked to host Takayoshi Ohmura ‘s BDay show annually (he’s from Marty Friedman band, and mainstay of live BabyMetal, many others). And singer is from Unlucky Morpheus(gothish powermetal), and Ninety other releases in only 10years. But I’ll start ya off with Bridear, somewhat outsiders (re Tokyo & Osaka Metal scenes), all female, powermetal? Metalcore? Known to cover pop songs, but this is one of their great early song, official live 2018, done as they were transitioning members. Krank it! (Fun if you know lyrics first; it’s English but too hard to hear that) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Mwp8RKL9RyY.html
Great reaction dude really enjoyed it. These ladies are killers! Ill leave some LIVE suggestions. Thunder Vengeance: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yWE7PqCpGi4.html Raise Some Hell: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x2r5LDNWjtI.html Shadowmaker: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QREnuWkGz-0.html (Has the band also "reacting" to their own DVD) I would do Shadowmaker or Raise Some Hell first just because it might get taken down soon. Stay safe!
Whatever live performance You is gonna react to: DO NOT choose Bloodstock. Awful soundenginering and one of the guitars is not i tune as well....I think that must be the worst liverecording of Lovebites ever. The other ones? You gonna dig gold! :-)
Their first ever full show is up, underworld nov? 2017. Horrible. But could see they were shooting for the stars. They’d been writing for 1.5yrs, finally signed, released full lp, but only played a short opening set here & there. But just amazing that it’s only 27? months from then til the recent flawless live dvd, and they have already over 40songs. Also notable?, they chose London for their debut headliner, having consciously decided to write in English and explicitly writing to honor nwobhm & European powermetal. Set a goal, work hard, that’s the Japanese way
