As someone who's been listening to Sleep Token for years now, this is actually my favorite song from them. Not sure how to put it exactly but it's so calming and "ethereal" to me, just takes me away. It's a simple song, but more isn't always better imo.
Technically this isn't the first recording they did - there were two eps and a handful of singles out before the full albums. This song has become somewhat of an anthem in retrospect, much like that first scene in a movie when you're introduced to the main character. Maybe not a banger, but more of the sentiment of what the song evokes both initially and in hindsight.
The dear hunter is a great band that has 5 albums that are actually a story and each song bleeds into the next! The story fascinating and the music is excellent!
Listening to the last album first and then going back is like watching the climax of a movie then going back and watching the beginning and setup for the first time. TMBTE was an epic finale that referenced parts of their work, this song included. Listen to Euclid again and check the lyrics and the ending melody.
Put this one in your back pocket and when you finish Take me back to eden album take it out and listen to it again. You might think differently. I know I did. Love yalls reaction 😊
This song for me is one that I would listen to when I am relaxing. It is beautiful. For example, the next one (The Offering) is one that gets you fired
They go back farther some really good heavy songs early on... Go to there tube and look at the oldest videos. Goes back to before 3 and 4... Vessel played everything back then
It’s hard to like all their songs in the beginning, especially if you like a specific sound from Vessel/ST. It took me some time to get into all their songs. Just realize that genres mean nothing to them and Vessel sings his songs with a purpose in mind, to feel what he is feeling. Every note, breakdown, and rhythm is specifically thought out to convey his feelings so we can also feel it in the moment. It’s an absolute genius quality, in my opinion. Definitely keep an open mind when going through the albums from start to end. We are on this journey with you!
The story starts at Ep one and progresses through to Euclid. This was not their break out, EP one was their break out. Go back to Ep one and begin the journey . Also their singles jaws and the way that you were are also part of the story Personally this isn’t one of my favs either but it’s an integral part of the story There are so many call backs to other song throughout this journey that ties it all together
Told you guys early on to not go to the beginning first! Finish TMBTE, it is the best album. Previous albums are great, but not as great. Will be here to Worship! ❤
