In fact, Jess at Soprano Notes just dropped this TODAY! Opera Singer Reacts to Post Modern Jukebox feat. Haley Reinhart Creep | MASTERCLASS | What are the odds? Just my lucky day I guess!
Haley's voice is really something special! She came in 3rd place on the 10th season of American Idol! Postmodern jukebox collabs with a lot of amazing artists!
Vintage is a discription. Post Modern Jukebox is the ensemble. Scott Bradlee is the pianist and does the arrangements, he's brilliant! Check out "Seven Nation Army", "All About The Bass" and "Habits" for more Haley.
One of my all-time favorite covers (their Seven Nation Army being another), PMJ’s Scott Bradlee is a dope arranger and the band supports Haley perfectly. Haley is so freaking underrated! Her vocal control, range, and authenticity give me goosebumps. She’s an old soul ❤
She's underrated exactly because she screwed herself over by refusing to sign a record deal. Hence, the overwhelming mass majority of the public has never even heard of Haley.
And fun fact... Haley was super duper sick when they recorded this. Might have even had pneumonia. Everyone told her to just reschedule, and she was like, no... everyone is already here... so she just ripped it... in one take. She's a beast.
Not 'sick' or pneumonia. Haley recorded this w/ PMJ after 8 days after landing in Germany from an East Coast red eye flight, directly to the venue in Berlin. They then toured Europe for 8 or so days before their first day off in Zurich, Switzerland, so Haley had no time to recover, so she was tired, not 'sick'. Obviously as a young mid 20's musician on her very first tour, she had the energy. In a recent interview, Haley said maybe it was because she wasn't 100% helped the performance because she had to pull more from herself.
Stop propagating this “sick” rumour. Here’s Haley’s comment on the matter “For PMJ Creep fans, Haley officially answers an often mischaracterized ‘fact’ about the recording of their iconic cover of “Creep”: PMj had just done five shows on the road across Europe and she was feeling a little tired But she felt it was that she wasn’t feeling 100% that gave her that extra tug of emotion she needed for the performance. “It’s been five shows, I’m pretty tired, I don’t know about this one….when it comes to those kinds of performances, I always give it 100% but I think emotionally, I was in a different place and really challenging something because I didn’t feel quite 100%, as far as being tired. It’s always really unique because I get to take my own stab and do the vocal arrangement…we’d only done it a few times on the road before that video. Alot of it is very jazz, very impromptu”
@@JeffTokayer ok. I apologize. I stand corrected. I didn't realize there was such a controversy about it. I heard the sick thing and didn't think to go full Sherlock Holmes mode. If you'd like I'll delete my comment.
@@TehZombish Not to speak for Jefftokayer, but my opinion is maybe you should leave your post. It might clear things up for others who have probably heard that same story. Those stories have a life of their own and I'm sure you're not the only person who heard it and believed it to be true.
@@TehZombish not your fault, it’s a mischaracterization among many PMJ fans that’s been repeated infinitely on practically every reaction to this performance, some have even said PMJ/Scott had to ‘beg’ Haley to give it a try , even as “sick” as she was, which paints Haley as a ‘Diva’ which is ridiculous as the 2015 European tour was her first professional tour after Idol. Who would act like that on their first professional tour?? Anyways, no biggie, at least you know, I even made a quick video to summarize how quickly “Creep” happened (about a week after Haley joined the tour) to how quickly Creep went viral and became PMJ’s most viewed video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eVASTaIoTYw.htmlsi=-ww0fIVR03_jvc2q
JUST starting my BP/AR reaction journey, and what an AMAZING one to kick off with. FUN FACT: if you check the description on the original video, this was the done on the VERY FIRST TAKE. This is probably my favorite female vocal performance of all time.
You guys did this justice from a reactor perspective. Between one of the most amazing vocal performances EVER, AND the incredible musicianship behind her in the instrumentals... This is one of the best single musical performances I have ever seen. I have watched this SO many times, and I STILL melt every time. Great job!
For me it would be nice if a reactor had some clue as to what they are watching " is Creep the name of the song" do a little home work people. Anthony clearly understands music and what is going on .
I've seen a ton of musical performances on RU-vid, some live, some studio, some new to me, some I know. This is my absolute favorite performance so far. Just amazing!
She's from Chicago, and sang in her parents band, mom sings, dad's plays guitar. Actually, Haley's father was the FIRST parent to perform with their child on American Idol and it was Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin.
Eventually all my favorite people and performances on YT are converging-crazy! This PMJ version of Radiohead’s Creep blew my mind several years ago and it still hits hard. What an amazing demonstration of vocal techniques by Haley Rheinhart. Watching it with you two gentlemen was icing on the cake ❤
Absolutely beautiful cover. You should check out The Charismatic Voice reaction. Elizabeth's facial expressions just capture the feeling this woman's voice can evoke. Haley's voice is hypnotic.
Anthony's faces were absolutely the highlight! Loved seeing you react to this, and you absolutely need to react to her and PMJ do Seven Nation Army. I haven't read many comments yet so thought I'd point this out quickly in case it hasn't been mentioned yet but this is also a "one-take". They were touring and at the end of one night they got together to record this - ran through it once but apparently Hailey wasn't feeling too great so they went with it. And it's become their most played song!
This was such fun to watch... Anthony, dude, the way this woman unlocked your soul is just amazing. And I know you wanted to play on it a bit for the camera, but dude... BP: How did I not know this?! The lyrics... the poetry... the delivery... the style... the oldies... Anthony: Yeah... yeah... oh, man... yeah... oh, man...🤣🤣🤣 Thank you. Great fun! P.S. She does the same to all of us... AND she f*n knows it, man... I don't mind if it hurts, I wanna take control? Yeah. She knows
Postmodern Jukebox has some amazing talent on there. Sweet child of mine New Orleans style and Umbrella vintage with Casey Abrams is a must imho. Oh, and i really like the Duck Tales theme song they did.
Kathy here - I love this song and Haley. She has such an amazing voice and range. And love the style of music PMJB does. As others have said, she was on American Idol and placed 3rd. You should check out some of her performances from that show. Especially House of the rising sun. I love watching you two interact and your banter back and forth. But as I am typing you are paused talking, and I can't wait until she gets to the "best part" to see your reactions then! Yep, there it is! But wait! There's more! Then the finish! LOL Thanks for such a great reaction to such an awesome song.
Haley tours around singing jazz, blues, and 60-70s rock. Check out her and PMJ's version of No Doubt's "Don't Speak" as well as other songs that came from this album.
Post Modern Jukebox is amazing. But Haley is a beast. You definitely need to do more Haley reacts. She started on American Idol and has grown since then.
I love the original Radiohead song so much, but this is also the cover that made me fall in love with PMJ. It's fascinating because Thom Yorke's ethereal voice is practically the opposite of Hailey's.
Nigel Lythgoe had his heart set on the hillbilly twins be in the finals from the outset. He dictated to the judges to fault Haley at every possible turn pointing imaginary and inappropriate faults, making her wear mile high heels and climbing down steep stairs etc etc. Haley was in the Bottom 3 three times! Haley survived all that. But, young girls who were fans of the hillbilly twins flooded the phone lines and Haley’ fans including Tom Hanks couldn’t phone in to vote. American Idol tanked after Haley was ousted and the show went downhill thereafter, leading to Nigel Lythgoe’s eventual departure and AI died soon after.
Haley Reinhart came in 3rd place on season 10 of American Idol, but everyone thought she should've won that year. Haley's sexiest PMJ songs; other than Creep, are: 🤯❤ Seven Nation Army - by White Stripes (New Orleans Dirge/Jazz Cover) ft. Haley Reinhart🔥 Don’t Speak - by No Doubt/Gwen Stefani (‘60s Style Cover) ft. Haley Reinhart🔥.
American Idol screwed Haley on purpose. It was the last year I watched because of the obvious "thumb on the scale" efforts by the judges to sway people away from her.

As far as im aware, PMJ is the brainchild of the guy on the piano. Ive seen them live and i can honestly say it is an EXPERIENCE. So many talented people and so many songs reimagined.
You guys are gonna loooove this! It's perhaps my all time favorite cover of any song (with the exception of the great Johnny Cash with Hurt, of course) 💗🦇💗🦇💗
PMJ is a deep and wild rabbit hole, Scott Bradlee always brings in amazing vocalist. One of my favorites that doesn't get a lot of attention is their cover of Old Town Road. The vocalist is the legendary and incomparable Blues singer Miche Brade. Her sass just pours through the screen
Post modern jukebox are a great band. Saw them live when they were in the UK in April this year. Hayley, Morgan James... They did a great cover of "all about that bass" and check out PMJ's versions of all the small things, mad world and Halo (trust me... Their Halo cover is STUNNING!)
I recently introduced my granddaughter to Postmodern Jukebox at a concert in our city. Man do they put on a show! To be honest, as an older person, I may not recognize all the songs, but what they do on stage is amazing. Taking modern music and reimagining it into different musical genres is just pure genius!
5:37 speaking of Sam Tompkins.... He dropping another song tomorrow.. Because of the time difference idk what time it drops in US. But its 8 pm Norwegian time. (In 14 hours)
You two guys need another Haley song. You MUST do a reaction video to her singing, "Don't know how to love you", the live version in Austria. Another reason to completely FALL IN LOVE WITH HER. WOW! You guys will melt into the floor. Get the oxygen ready for Anthony Ray .............. have an ambulance parked in the driveway for him. hahahahahaha
Anthony you not alone, this performance can make any man crumble. Love the original but this took first place for me. Check out this one as well " Can't Find My Way Home • Haley Reinhart ft father on guitar"
Any single man who doesn't fall in love Haley and have to pick their chin up of the floor at the end of this song.....You don't have a pulse! A blind, deaf, drain dead man in a coma, If they have a heart beat....They're in love, Don't even try to lie!
There was a chewing gum commercial that came on during winter and the holidays...it's been a few years back and she did the singing...I believe it was an Elvis song ..falling in love with you....Haley is a terrific singer that deserves more credit than she gets
AR knew whats up. That Smokey voice, melancholy lyrics, blues jazz bar band, noir vibe, and pure raw emotion from a beautiful lady. Just hits like a truck to the chest.
Haley is a gift of life I listen to her every single day and that's what keeps me going and brighten up my day thank you Haley for your music God bless you and your family Aloha from Hawaii
I agree with everything you both are saying. I've been watching jukebox for almost a year and a half now and this girl is sensational. I could be at Nice elegant cigar lounge.. I will play her song and women what classy they would be like who is this singing sensational
So glad Anthony enjoyed the physical performance as well as the vocal/instrumental. She really puts a lot of effort to match her movments with the song. Thx for hitting this!
@@dropbarracuda Haley Reinhart counts Chicago as her hometown, but has resided in Los Angeles since she appearing on American Idol. Her fiance Drew is also a musician from Chicago. Both were living in LA when they first met--in Chicago at a wedding.
Pau (the drummer from the warning) did an excelent cover of this song . She done it as a challange on instagram to learn and preform a song in 4 hours. Its just her and a piano. It may be less technically perfect than this preformance but no less great. I honestly couldn't say which one of the two i prefer.
So many great female artists that came out of American idol They may not have won it wasn’t their time. But I was upset about this loss. I just adore her
Ya this song is amazing. I have watched reactions for years on her.. ever since she did this song. Also Her doing Seven nation Army... Also All about the Bass, and Mad world Haley and puddles.. , Think there are a couple more just cant think of them atm. Her voice is amazing.
Postmodern Jukebox is the backing band. Each of their songs normally has different singers. The Piano guy is Scott Bradlee and is the main person for the band and is the composer.
I saw Haley a few years ago in Utah and she sounds great "live" also...I have a picture of me on one knee proposing to her 🙂 She was so fun and played along. That pic is now framed with her signature and concert poster. She is so kind and fun, as well as beautiful and talented.
Woot.. I posted for you to do Post Modern Jukebox and Haley for your first PMJ reaction way back after first Ren reaction... Can't believe your doing it.. I knew you'd get into this.. Your faces and reactions are F'in hilarious.. I know Good Music brother. Not deaf yet from drummin.
I'm with Anthony Ray. The first time I watched/heard this performance, this 75 year old body immediately thought of Jessica Rabbit (the sultry cartoon character from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"). Haley Reinhart is seriously talented.
Her lives are just as insane. Look up her "MY Baby Just Cares for Me" with Jeff Goldblum, yes him, it is amazing. Also her original "I Don't Know How to love You" (any version) is fantastic. Also this beast was done in one take, Scott Bradlee, director of PMJ and piano man was asked by Haley if it needed to be done again, he laughed and said nope!.
PMJ is a touring stage show, this was on their Europe tour long ago, they were tired and this was their day off between shows and Haley was ill and not 100%, they just set up a single camera and record most their vids this way. It’s basically just their show they perform every night on tour and that’s why it’s so tight and relaxed. If you get a opportunity to catch their show when they’re in your area you must attend, They have a show consisting of many extraordinary vocalist who are next level talents, rare entertainment nowadays.👍
I'm with AR on Haley's voice, and his faces throughout the video are hilarious and relatable. Shes my number one voice crush, followed only by Joey Cook and her work with PMJ as well
Definitely go through Postmodern Jukebox's channel and react to more of their videos! They have so many good ones to choose from so pick some out that peaks your interest! Much love
PMJ is superb and Scott Bradlee is a genius. The arrangement he creates for songs you thought you knew are unbelievable. Check out more of their stuff. Morgan James singing Dream On, wow! They use a multitude of artists and put their own signature to each song. All About That Bass, Portugal the Man; Ain't No Rest for the Wicked just to name a very few.
