Arab Man FINALLY Reacts to Creep HALEY REINHART & Postmodern Jukebox 

You, me, and every other guy, who has listened to Hailey, fell in love with her voice during this song.

You should know, Haley's a rocker, born of a Chicago Blues guitarist & a power vocalist who fashioned herself after Grace Slick & Ann Wilson, who've been in a band together for over 40 years. The family are true blue Beatles fans who attend the annual Beatlesfest in Chicago. Even though it's been told Haley's Dad used to do call & response scatting w/ Haley when she was a baby, before she could speak, Haley didn't really fall into Jazz until she joined her High School Jazz band as their first Jazz singer. She eventually took them to perform the Umbria Jazz festival in Europe. That 'growl' in her voice is an extension of her natural speaking voice, she said she used to be a tomboy as a kid, mimicking South Park's Eric Cartman. She even tried out as a voice in the Charlie Brown movie. That recording eventually was listened to by Vince Vaughn, Bill Burr and the Simpson's Mike Price which lead her being cast as the voice of the younger Bill Burr in their Netflix Adult animation "F is For Family". Haley sings Zeppelin, Sublime, Pink Floyd, Hendrix and of course the Beatles. Yes, she is most known for her Jazz, but you can hear the rock influences in her jazz interpretation of songs, like this one. This recording was done in one take on a day where she was feeling under the weather. After sitting in the front row of her concert last year, I was just as impressed with her live performance. (local girl does good)

Tired from touring a bit, she told Scott (who wanted her to do this AFTER All About That Bass) that she'd do ONE take. If it was not good, she'd redo it on the next day(s) off. Reviewing it, she did NOT like it and wanted to try again later. Scott said (to his credit), "No way- this is perfect!" 8 yrs and millions of views later, yeah, incredible.

Haley is one of America's best kept secrets, criminally under rated, same goes for Morgan James (one of her co-singers at that time in PMJ). Now no worries, both do pretty well in their own fields of music, but neither will chart the top 40 any time soon, they are no pop starlets, they are more.. let's say.. traditional singers. A thing to know about this performance is that Haley was not feeling too well, i believe she was coming down with the flu or a heavy cold or something, and it was after returning from a gig. So yeah, she's rather special, has a voice you can listen to for hours and hours on end, and as a performer, she truly tells and sells the stories she sings about, she's amazing. And as i mentioned the name Morgan James, you need to check her out as well because you'll love her as much as you love Haley. A good introduction song to her is one that also has Haley, and.. the Daughter of Telly Savalas (famous 70's/80's actor) who also knows how to sing a tune or two ;) That song would be "All about that bass - European tour version", it's a fun song and a great showcase for PMJ humor and talent. I drove from Miami to Orlando to see her a few months ago and she put on the best vocal performance I’ve ever witnessed in person. Every song was just perfection. She’s so dang incredible, eh? Some of my other favorite covers from her: White Rabbit, I put a spell on you, Black hole sun, can’t find my way home(with her dad). There’s so many more but I won’t go on and on. If you’re going down the rabbit hole, I’m here for it! Great reaction!

Another favorite with her is "Mad World - Vintage Vaudeville - Style Cover ft. Puddles Pity Party & Haley Reinhart" with PMJ. Puddles is his own unique trip! The 2 of them together harmonizing, especially the end section is exquisite. She really slow burns & vamps on "Seven Nation Army" also.

I just saw her in concert a week or so ago. She was magnificent! Such a stage presence! BTW, she performed Creep as an encore, so, if you go, don't leave too early.

Scott could write an arrangement for her to read the phone book to and I'd listen to it all day. As she was about to hit the little scat part, I was almost screaming "Don't pause! Don't pause!" at the screen lol. Look around the 10:50ish part of your vid... as she hits the little high run the bass player looks over to the booth with almost a little shock. Great reaction!

Others will give the full background on this, but what is awesome here is that this is a *literal* one-take video. All but 2-3 PMJ vidoes are a single continous shot, but may be the 2nd, or 5th, or 10th attempt. *This* one was, in a nutshell ... Band is in place. Haley comes in. Haley sings the song *ONCE*. Scott calls it a day. Just .... brilliant.

Haley was under the weather as this was the tour’s day off in Switzerland and she was exhausted, She wanted to do another take but Scott said no need. They shot All about the Bass during that day also. The vids are just their stage show performance filmed with a single camera, that’s why their vids are so tight, they play those songs every night. Saw them during the last Europe tour and Effie Passero? sang it, it’s Scott’s composition and every artist he has sing it on tour does it different, Effie just nailed it ❤️

No, you definitely haven't seen this before, can't fake it like that... :) Haley imo is one of the most unique, both technically and stylistically perfect vocalists of our days, those freaking American guys don't know whom they have in her, they should shit her with Grammys and all that stuff, but the media are ignoring her as she's not signed to a label. Anyway she is confident that quality will prevail, and she can stay true to herself and go her way... a true ARTist, I adore her! Peace and love from Bavaria!

The key change into the belting always gets me! First time I listened to this, that key change threw me for a loop! Thought, flat? She's going flat after all that...and then the instrumentation resolves the chord and bam! Eargasm! Whole arrangement is pure magic!

What makes this version of Creep so interesting is two things. It's a fantastic song. But Haley made me see it in another way. The song alternates between first person and third person. She starts in first person with a presentation as someone rather meek, timid even. But her rage builds throughout. Then she goes third person. "She runs, runs runs" telling us what this other person is doing. Only to come back to acceptance of "I'm a Creep". Did you notice her arms as she sang "She runs, runs"? They were flailing like you might seem to run in a dream. Her body interpretations of each line lifts the impact. Whether "I want a perfect body" with her hands on her hips or reaching up to the sky "I want a perfect soul". That's Haley. The song tells a story and the way Haley interprets it brings it to life. It's perfect. She's perfect for this song. btw I've got 3rd row tickets to see her on Feb 13, 2024. Laters........

This is my all time favorite cover and as far as Haley is concerned and her rendition, this is not a cover this is her song. I’ve watched her since she appeared on the talent show. She should have won, she was fabulous. But that’s in the past. I’ve watched numerous reactions to her version of this song and by far yours is the Best. I love that this video is in black and white. Her voice takes me immediately to a bar scene in an old detective movie from the 40's and she is the lovely lady crooner. Just an amazing voice.

This also was the one take wonder, Haley asked if they needed to do it again and Scott Bradlee (piano)(the force behind PMJ) Laughed and said, nope. Haley has "Don't Speak" by No Doubt with PMJ. Her original "I Don't Know how to Love You" (any version, 60's blues/rock official video, soulful live at Chess Records with just her dad on guitar or An Impossible Project Documentary with full orchestra) are AMAZING.

The word you were looking for was "soul." PMJ put a level of soul into this song at a magnitude that the original performers couldn't hope to match.

You are likely remembering that you saw Voiceplay do the creep cover wondering if it was Haley. It doesnt help that both groups also covered 7 nation army beautifully and totally differently. And you can love both artists. I do. Actually i want a Haley Reinhart and voiceplay collaboration now.

A bit of praise is due to the band. These people know each others quality and work together exquisitely. Knocked out by Haley's voice, reviewers gererally forget to mention the teamwork that goes into all of PMJ's arraingements. There are many other singers who shine with PMJ. Personally, I love that these folks all seem to be enjoying what they're doing.
