I saw them in concert in December 7, and they performed this from a secondary stage in the middle of the arena, sitting in a tight circle with their backs to one another, creating a lovely theatre-in-the-round experience.
Scott and Mitch were both sick on this performance and actually had a couple of concerts where they had to perform off=stage. The show must go on! :) You really DID drop a lot of songs today....FUN!
Yup...a clap track was used...likely the same one they use at their concerts. They do perform this at their Christmas concerts this year and last. There was a clip/short last year of Matt practising and trying to get the timing and hand choreography right. He had a rough time of it.
Kristen seems to have difficulty with earpieces. I’ve observed her adjusting them a lot in live performances over the years. She’s such a professional you barely notice.
I feel like Kirstie and sometimes Mitch have issues with their in ears often. But I’m also a little more sensitive to it as a hearing aids user I tend to notice that kind of stuff.
I noticed too. They adjust them, take one out depending on what they want hear, etc. I think I saw a clip of Scott explaining everything they are used for.
I remember seeing a clip of Mitch saying that he needed to clean his earpiece because he had a lot of ear wax. I love watching ear wax removal videos, yes, I'm weird. But the audiologists that I watch all say that ear wax is not a hygiene problem, it's a natural cleanser for the ears. They also say not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear, so no qtips. Mitch might just have the genes that produces more ear wax, it happens.
I must say that I have a strong preference for the original by Fleet Foxes. It is livelier. This rendition is a bit flat sounding, especially at the start of the verses. It may be the fact that they are trying to keep time with each other.
Well, do you have any idea why that kind of singing does not move, although all (seems to be) on point? It is kind of being in car store watching how "great" those super-cars are looking like.
