FIRST TIME WATCHING ...Avatar The Last Airbender | 1x1 REACTION “The Boy in The Iceberg” 

I love how animated shows can Link together because you hear the voice actors and recognize them from all the other shows they have done

The beginning of an epic journey, just wait until things really get rolling. I love the entire show but it definitely takes a couple episodes to really set the stage for how epic it truly is

Dante has played a lot of characters over the years but I'll never get over his cameo in the Boondocks. A legend Oh yeah, there's a lot of two-parters and cliffhangers, some I'd recommend watching both at once, seasonal finales are usually like that as well as some of the best episodes.

I’m excited for you to see the greatness of this show!! Every season gets progressively better and more mature with its themes and tone!! So much wisdom for a “children’s show”

Appa is 6/106 Aang is 12/112 Katara is 14 Sokka is 15 Zuko is 16 Uncle Iroh is 56-63 (age never given) The bending's are based on real martial arts. List is in Avatar cycle order. Fire is based on Northern Shaolin Air is based on Baguazhang Water is based on Tai Chi Earth is based on Hung Gar All music in it is original. Great soundtrack. Arrow on Aang's head mean he has reach the title of Airbending Master. Appa's arrow is just fur pattern. Most creatures in this world are made up of 2 or more animals from our would. Appa is bison and manatee. This is a cartoon not a true anime but it's beloved by anime fans so much that most considered it a honorary anime. This is 1 of the greatest shows to be made. And in most people view (me included) it's the best cartoon to ever be made.

I picture Appa smelling like a warm spring breeze I mean just look at all the floof.

Also Sokka has some of the best character development of all time (my opinion but wouldn't be surprised if most people felt this way) I won't say anything else on the matter though.

So to condense things a bit: There are four nations. Fire Air Water Earth All four nations have some people with the ability to control the elements, called Benders. So an Airbender can basically do what Aang does, a Waterbender does what Katara does (but better since she is untrained), etc. Most people are not benders. The Avatar is a mystical being that can control all four elements (everyone else has one at most) and is reincarnated into the next nation in a cycle when they die. I'll give you one guess about who the current Avatar is! Also, the Avatar is the bridge between the human world and the spirit world, but don't worry too much over that for now. The cycle the Avatars are reborn as goes Fire->Air->Water->Earth->Fire again So 100 years ago the Avatar disappeared. The previous Avatar was from the Fire Nation, named Roku. Therefore the next Avatar would be from the Air Nation. Seeing this as an opportunity for world dominion, the Fire Nation ambushed the Air Nomads, wiping out their entire people. Yes, this is another show with a genocide. But they never found the Avatar... 100 years of war followed. In that 100 years, the Southern Water Tribe got really beat up, as it were. All of the Waterbenders in the tribe were taken away, except Katara because she was young and untrained so they didn't discover her. All of the men left for war (including Sokka and Katara's father) and I agree, leaving nobody to defend it other than a teenager is a really weird decision on their part. Either they really trusted Sokka, or they felt they needed every last man. And now they popped Aang out of an iceberg, you should be all caught up (for now). Also Zuko is the Prince of the Fire Nation and wants to capture the Avatar to restore his hooooonnnnor for reasons you will see later. If you need more explanation, Katara will do that at the beginning of every episode (most Avatar fans have it memorized). Enjoy!

Also the story does kinda just jump right into things without explaining everything right away, but it will all be explained more as the episodes go on as far as how things got to where they are.

When you've finished watching Book 1 of A:LAB you should 100% watch the 2010 Live action "The Last Airbender" movie by M. Night Shamalamadingdong... and before anyone says "Nooooooo don't it was so bad" or anything like that you know as well as I do that it is a right of passage for all LAB fans to watch it at some point.

Between Avatar, FMA, and Arcane you might possibly be watching too many top tier shows, and whatever follows will probably not be quite as fun. Seriously, all three shows are so good, it's wild that you are watching all 3 at the same time!

So the intro is extended/different for this first episode but I think starting in the next one it will be the same from then on.
