Who are YOU rooting for: Light or L?! If you can't wait to see how this cat and mouse game between these two plays out, the good news is that you don't have to wait! The RU-vid cut of my reaction to Episode 3 is already posted on Patreon at the $1 tier, and my extended reactions to Episodes 1-6 are available at the $10 tier. Be there or be square!
4:06 This is one of those cases where watching it in Japanese with subtitles actually works better, since I always got the impression proper Japanese as a language was very hard to learn, even for kids born in that country. Or maybe this was also the English class in the original Japanese as well. I can't quite remember, it's been literally years since I watched this. L is a really great adversary for Light and he really is an entertaining character.
@@lolilol5346 They are not talking down the English performances. They're great, but they're making a comment on how the dub makes it unclear what's occurring in that scene. What's happening in the scene is Light is translating an English passage into Japanese. The ease of which Light can translate a forieng language as if he's simply reading his first language is what's impressive, but this simply doesn't come across in the dub very well. People who watch the English dub often think Light is simply reading a passage written in his first language. It's unfortunately kind of difficult to translate these kinds of scenes clearly without putting extra translation notes on screen or making alterations to the dialogue.
I respect her honesty on Light's comments/thoughts of how people conduct themselves, because a lot of content creators straight up bypass that scene instead. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series
4:05 he reads that in english in the japanese version as well . understandably it's hard to get in the dub during a first watch , but i just wanted to throw it out there :)
Yeh every reactor hates ryuk in episode 1 and becomes their favorite in episode 2 You see ryuk is us He gives the same reaction as we watchers Helps us more information 😁
I know a person who had never messed up once in their entire life. My next door neighbor’s son is 4 days old and By all accounts he’s a perfect angel. I think when the show says “innocent”, they mean someone who hasn’t committed any crime according to the country they live in.
Love your reaction! Death Note has one of the best rivalries between two characters in any anime. Btw, the shingami's name is Ryuk and pronounced like "Ree Yook"
L is definitely smarter. Not on par at all. Light using magic, while L has no clue about this power. And still learned about Light's location. That ain't "on par" to me.
Think Light is smarter with how he manages to use the deathnote so spectacularly that L even with all his money, task force and resources couldn't beat him.
@@nikhilkashyap4667 Money and resources mean nothing if you don't know how to use it. Light has the advantage of literal magic that he could have easily got uncaught. But L baited and stay true to his deductions. Light had far more advantages. L was winning a game he didn't even know the rules to.
@@misterholmes221 Spoiler Alert In that case, even the 'literal magic' would mean nothing if you don't know how well to use it. L took no time to hunt Misa and Higuchi, so there goes your theory of Death note the book advantage. If anything, that kind of power makes you more noticeable because not everyone holds a death note in day to day life lol, a minor mistake. Light had to carry Misa throughout the show and watch that she should not get caught, talk about liability. Not to mention he had to live a dual life as Kira and Light. There are tonnes of pointers which boast of Light the school guy being on par and even better than L the best detective in the world with all his experience. Anyways I consider them both almost equals but this was just to show you mirror with that 'definitely smarter' !
My deduction has concluded based on you wearing the same shirt in both videos that you are binging the episodes. A smart choice if I may say so myself.
I've rooted for L since day 1. My conscience would terrorize me if I ever took another human life. If it was for self defense my conscience would still bother me but not as much. I'm just not a killer.
