I'm completely on his side. Death Note was the first anime I ever watched. A friend recommended it to me because he said I reminded him of Light. This show goes at a slower pace. Nick has a ways to go in his journey to figure out who he is, including what his specific sexuality is. He takes things in relatively baby steps.
Silco is my favorite arc, for reasons I cannot disclose until the final chapter. What I can say is that I love how they've presented him up to this point, and how his every action has multiple interpretations depending on the person: is he using Jinx? Does he unconditionally love her? A mix of both?? His persona is fascinating, and I really enjoy villains that let their Evil Virtues shine.
I spent the last third of the episode with my hand over my mouth: I was *that* surprised by it. And I play League, so I knew how Powder ends up. The execution is just that good.

The thing is Nick really didn’t have better friends through most of the season 1. Yes he met Charlie’s friends at the birthday party, and had a date thing with Tara Darcy Elle Tao and Charlie but other than that he only had imogen and the rugby lads. Nick only started becoming friends with everyone else later in the season.
He spread it out throughout the day by killing on the hour every hour as in literally 11:00 12:00 1:00 2:00 You don’t think that’s trying to get the message across that he controls the time of the killing? That’s Light trying to throw them off instead of announcing he knows they know?
I like how everyone warms to Ryuk more as they recognize that the scary entity here is Light. While Ryuk caused this by dropping the note for fun, that kind of pales to the growing outright maliciousness of Light.

I was pretty sure of my attraction to guys by high school, and even came out to one sister as gay. But then I had a huge crush on a girl friend in college, and dated another another girl for about seven months around the same time. Every time I try to pin down my sexuality, it always wriggles out of my grasp. So now I accept a bisexual identity, even though I'm mostly into guys in a variety of ways. Honestly, casual biphobia has played a hugely negative role in my life, which is one of the many reasons I love this show. Nick is a bi king, and a fully real, fleshed out, and humanized character. Truly, the golden retriever energy that the world needs. I wish to protect him (and Kit Connor) with all my heart.
I’m fifty five years old and cry every single time I watch this and that’s sad because I’ve probably watched it thirty plus times! 😂 The process of acknowledging your gay and coming to terms with it have never changed but society certainly has, I so wish my experience was like this instead of all the age restrictions and genuine hatred we experienced back in the 70’s and 80’s. I’m so happy for the younger generation, it’s still not easy to be gay but it’s getting better and better. 🎉❤
I`m hoping in Season 2 we get to see the Sumps, which is the most polluted, repressed and impoverished part of Zaun where Silco, Powder, Mylo, Claggor, Deckard, Salo and Vi were born. I`m pretty sure that will further confirm in people`s minds Zaunites despite what Piltoverians claim are not just "bad people" or "criminals" for the sake of it, they`re people who have suffered the worst of conditions possible and been forced to grow up way too fast with no mental health services as they are merely "Trencher trash" in the eyes of Piltoverian elites and authorities. That doesn`t mean all the things the Zaunites do to gain freedom for themselves is justified of course but when you consider they were once a free, unified and independent people and are now second-class citizens to Topsiders whose notions of "progress, equality and innovation" are literally built on keeping them down, you can understand their resentment! As Silco said, "There is a monster inside all of us, it`s time to let the monster out." What he meant is Shimmer just intensified the Zaunites` resentment of the Piltoverians in physical form. It was the Piltoverians` abuse and repression of the Zaunites that truly made them monsters to begin with as well as being abandoned, judged ,nearly killed and betrayed by their loved ones over and over again! That`s why many Zaunites developed Social Darwinist and Illegalist anarchist tendencies as a coping mechanism!
The thing is Silco didn`t want to create the Nation of Zaun. In the world of Runeterra(Which is the world of "League of Legends" and "Arcane"),Zaun was already a thing,in fact when Heimerdinger talked about how the Topside and the Undercity used to be one tribe, do you know what that tribe`s name was? It was Zaun, it was the Piltoverians building sewage lanes above them which reduced them to a polluted, impoverished, repressed undercity where the locals(Called "Trenchers", "Filthy little animals" and "Undercity rabble" by the Topsiders) were forced to commit crimes to survive .
