Mad Eye Moody used to capture dark wizards for a living. I think he was captured by Barty Crouch Junior because Barty was able to ambush him, and because he isn't as strong as he used to be on account of permanent damage from old injuries. He only has one leg. That's why he uses the cane.

7 part 1 is my favorite movie, but Goblet of Fire is still my favorite book. i like where Ash's head is at, the characters he seems to be cheering for- Snape, Malfoy, etc. You will both definitely get plenty of payoff for all the characters you love, or love to hate. JK Rowling really struck lightning in a bottle with this series, the world she built and the characters in it simply bring to the surface everything we love about story telling itself.

The movie really did Krum dirty. In the book, he has this really interesting progression of being this larger that life sports star, who Harry discovers is actually a very humble and a super solid bro. In the movie he's just kind of a beefcake lol

Barty Crouch Jr specifically chose Neville to highlight the Cruciatus Curse because he knew how much it would bother him. Crouch was one of the Deatheaters who tortured Neville's parents and using him for the demonstration was sick way of reminding him.

@@BGjunior in the books Neville's parents aren't dead they've been driven insane from the curse repeatedly used on them by Crouch and Lestrange and probably a couple of other Death Eaters too they're in a mental institution for wizards they're not the only ones in the same Hospital either to call back to the second movie when Ron's wand backfires on Lockhart so he's at the hospital too and he still doesn't remember who he is

5:30 Fun fact: In the book, they actually do talk about a character called Ali Bashir who's trying to get licence to sell flying carpets in the UK, as he thinks it's a very good family transportation medium. But, he's not able to because the British ministry of magic classified flying carpets as a "muggle artifact" and has imposed an embargo on all flying carpets sales in the UK. He keeps pestering Ron's dad to get him a licence, as he's the head of the department of misuse of muggles artifacts. 😂

Remember that Harry's and Voldemort's wands are twins, they share the same core. When twin wands are forced to battle each other, they refuse, they connect instead and try to overpower each other. This is where the courage, the character, the intentions of the owners come into play. In this scene, Harry accepted, almost welcomed the possibility of death, something Voldemort was never able to do. Therefore his courage won, his wand overpowered Voldemort's. When that happened, a very rare phenomenon occurred. Dumbledore mentions "Priori incantatem" but he doesn't explain. Basically one wand forces the other to regurgitate the last spells it performed in reverse order. That is why the ghost-like figures of Voldemort's last victims appeared. Moreover, at this point Voldemort has no idea what happened. He doesn't know that the wands are twins, so he is totally confused, he thinks that Harry won the duel due to some unknown superior skill. The movies gloss over the true nature of magic. There are strict rules to it, it's not like anything is possible. Also, there's a lot more to magic than just waving a wand and saying the spell. The character, the mental strength, the courage and the intention of the witch or wizard also counts. Also: every act has consequences which might not be immediate.

In the maze, Harry used a spell that made his wand point north in his hand leading him to the center and the trophy. There were many more challenges in the maze, not shown in the film. Huge backstory to Barty Crouch Jr. and Sr. as well.

Yeah I remember when I first read it, when Barty Crouch Sr died, I was actually shocked. Like 'hold on... Am I reading this correctly???' mostly because it was just so sudden and violent. They also didn't explain really that moody picked up ticks from the dark wizards he had hunted, that the reason he was so good (and so feared) was because he was willing to go as deep as he had to to get into their minds and find them.

The actors for the Weasley twins, Fred & George, are twins in real life. All the schools are co-ed in the books. Hannah's right. Ron was jealous in a way. He's been overshadowed by his 5 older brothers his whole life then his best friend is the most famous kid in their world. Ron usually handles it really well but Harry becoming a champion just pushed him over the edge for a bit. The dragons they pulled out of the pouch are just magical replicas not real dragons. The dragon's chain didn't break in the book. Clueless Ron just realized one of his best mates is actually a girl. He's jealous but doesn't really realize it or know why. You're forgetting that Harry is 3 years younger than the other contestants. He doesn't know as many spells as the older students. The kids like Ron & Hermione in the lake were never in any danger. They weren't going to die. The contestants were just meant to think so.

Fun Fact: Director Mike Newell was not aware that Alan Rickman wore black contact lenses for the role of Snape until one day when he was complimenting him on the amazing shade of his eyes. Alan Rickman leaned over and popped one of the lenses out. Also, at least one full-scale dragon was constructed on the set, which could even blow real fire. The dragon was created partially from the basilisk puppet seen in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" (2002).

Recall from the first film that Harry's wand had a Phoenix feather in it. The Phoenix gave only one other feather--it was in Voldemort's wand. Because of this, the two wands can't hurt one another. That's why Harry was able to hang with Voldemort in the final duel.

14:59 This was explained in the books but the last Triwizard tournament before this was held in the 1700s and this one was made safe by ministry so nobody would die. But the director exaggerated lot of things in this movie like the Dragon task where the dragon breaks out and chases Harry when in the books it didn't.

@@justtrustash i'm just going to say my opinión respectfully just because rob has the worst character ever in twilight dosen't mean he is a bad actor you need to see him in other movies to see that he is really good you can't just judge an actor because he was in a cheesy movie and he did an amazing job in the batman everyone agrees on that we where tired to see the same freaking batman all the time yes i get it other actors did an incredible job playing batman but we needed a new face and a new version and side of bruce not just the same egocentric, really famous, súper rich, and really tuff strong dude we were always seeing we have to remember that bruce was not like that in his first years of being batman rob just play the more acurate side of batman and yes what if he was emo? He was still depress of his parents death seeing the same thing being played over and over again gets really boring and also you need to start to stop judging someone just cause you don't like his personality or the character he play rob totally hated being in the twilight movies there's a lot of interviews of him hating the movie and judging his character 100% of the time you don't even know the things that person has been trough in his life you don't even know the struggle or the amount of hate that actor has got so maybe next time before you judge someone try to be in that person's shoes and have a perspective of his life before you judge have a great day or night💜

The Batman is stellar. He may have starred in an entertainment franchise that Ash doesn't like but what the hell? - Robert Pattinson is just a great actor. Watch The Lost City of Z, The Lighthouse, The King or Good Time. All outstanding performances.

The Lighthouse is pretty good, so is the Good Time and he is a talented actor and a fellow gamer. But bloody hell, I hated him in Batman. The emo-sad-boi, post modern Batman is cringe af.TBF though, it wasn't really his fault, he wasn't the one who wrote the character. But I get what Ash is saying, regarding Pattinson's aesthetic.

I didn't see the Pattinson Batman, but the Clooney and Kilmer were mostly forgettable. The villains were so overwhelmingly awful, that I can hardly remember any scenes with Batman from either movie.

@@WilliamMoses355 I'm pretty sure the Batman movie with Robert Pattinson wasn't meant to be peak batman, pretty sure in that movie he was new to being under the batman identity. but then again idk fully, haven't watched the movie since its release, I gotta go rewatch it. I remember liking the villain in the movie though, the riddler was fun.

In the books, Dobby makes a return in GoF as a kitchen worker employed by Dumbledore. Also, not liking Robert Pattinson just because of the Twilight movies is bonk and shows you don't really watch a lot of movies. Everything he's in, he's fantastic.

Yess i was going to say the same thing robert is an amazing actor and he has had amazing characters in other movies not just twilight and him saying the worst batman movie i think this movie was the best of all of the others i was tired to see the same rich and powerful buff egocentric batman robert did an amazing job playing how bruce was before he started to get more fame and reconigtion

The other two schools were co-ed. The movies just chose to make it all girls and all boys. But they had both genders and brought both genders to put their names in the cup. Also, it's so sad that Viktor didn't have anyone else in his life he would miss other than a girl he just met.

Voldemorts main anger isn't that harry beat him it's that people mock him and downplay how powerful he is because of that failure because harry was a baby but it wasn't harry that did anything it was Lilly and a mother love that beat Voldemort and he knows that but unless he can kill harry people would always think that way about him which is why imo he's so angry towards harry and even makes jabs against Lilly to harry

Krum was under the Imperius curse (the one they foreshadowed with the spider) that's why he only got rid of Fleur, attacked Cedric but didn't attack Harry, even when he was right next to him, his job was to make sure Harry gets to the portkey to end up in the graveyard so they can complete Voldemort's resurrection

Who was controlling Victor Krum? Barty Crouch Jr. (polyjuiced to look like Mad-Eye Moody). He was like a puppet. So Jr. tried to curse Fluer , then tried to curse Cedric, but Harry intervened, He did not try to curse Harry, because the whole plan was to get him to Voldemort by touching the trophy, which was a portkey to the graveyard. If you look back you see Victor's eyes are glazed, whited out like a zombie. The trick they played on the audience the whole first 2/3 of the movie was to make you think Moody was on Harry's side, when he was a real double agent. He murdered his own father, how Shakespearean is that?

Barty crouch Jr. (Fake mad eye) took part in the torture of Nevilles' parents via the Cruciatus Curse, hence why he chose Nevile to tell him that one and tortured the spider in front of him
