The best thing about Invincible is the fact that the original writer of the comic, is the same writer for the show. So any changes that are done to the show are official and approved by the same guy who created the whole thing.

I understand Jaby's gripe about the voiceover gigs not going to known voiceover talent, but I think about it like this: a chunk of that talent is people from The Walking Dead. I like the meta-synergy of that.

I mean, it'd be understandable if the end result was bad or something. But the voice actors do a pretty good job in the show, all of them, and it's necessary to have some star power in order to get people to watch the show.

Or maybe he should check the actors IMDb page and see that most of the actors on here has experience in voice-over work except for a couple of people.just because you seen them in movies and tv doesn't mean they're not perfect for this. Khary Payton plays king Ezekiel on the walking Dead but has done over 22 video game voice work and has done twice that in animation.the three main leads has done a lot of work on animation and anime mark hammil, Clancy brown and others here have decades of experience doing this.just because they didn't hire jabys buddies doesn't mean they didn't hire experienced people.

It sounds a little like sour grapes to me. Just because you got famous acting in films doesn’t mean you can’t branch out. A lot of film actors do audiobooks and other voice over work. It’s not fair to say that a big star like Will smith can’t have a RU-vid channel or something like that. There’s room for everyone. Yeah, a buffer profile person will probably take the job you want but such is life. If you’re a good enough actor, you still lose yourself in the role. That said, I do love that so much of the cast is mad up of The Walking Dead alums.

Invincible did have a crossover with the Tick in a comic. Mark thought their universe was hilariously fun. One can hope the show might be able to do something like that in future seasons.

Clancy brown, Khary Payton,Micheal Richardson,among others are known more for their video games, anime and animation work by people than their tv work so WTH are you talking about!? Just because you haven't seen their work doesn't mean others like myself hasn't either. Everyone can't be stunt people and voice over people you know. Robert kirkman has been trying to get this made from it's debut in comics back in 2003 for 15 years. He pitched it as a live action movie then a live action TV show. It wasn't until his success with the walking dead people wanted to work with him. He then decided to make it an animated tv show and got people with voice work experience who also happened to contribute to the success of his show to help with this. Jaby is that one dude that's always looking for negatives to gripe about.

The simple fact is VO actors are routinely disrespected and undervalued in the industry. Not necessarily a problem in this show but it's good to have awareness. Chris Pratt should not be getting VO roles when there is so many talented people in the field.

I really think that these people are talented VAs that have all done VA work previously, and there's no reason to discredit them because they've done on screen work. I don't agree with saying that voice acting is not the field of "movie stars". Movie stars are actors and they work continuously on their craft, just like voice actors do. Although I agree that opportunities are taken away from some "specialized" voice actors, at the end of the day, they're all actors. Plus Sandra Oh and JK Simmons have been doing voice acting in games, tv, animation and movies for more than 20 years. And no need to explain that it's also about marketing.

The voice acting and hires are fine and optimal. As someone working on the games industry, I would MUCH prefer hiring actors like those that have more work in versatile trans-media fields, than the typical VOA. They just tend to deliver more consistent quality in my experience, over the more traditional VOA Hollywood types.
