I'm so glad this movie is finally getting the love it deserves! It's such a fun watch, while also highlighting important topics. I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
Awww.... I stopped getting notifications for your channel (because I'm subscribed to like 500 channels by now 😅🤭😔🙈). But I have to catch up a bit, esp if you just reacted to this gem! I've recommended 1999's "Ravenous" to Rob W to react to like ages ago. He said he would do it. Maybe you can try and beat him to it. See which one of you is faster. 😅 It's one of my favorite movies. It has an unusual feel and musical score to it and a messed up story. It's almost like a Western. But with great performances as well....
9:03 She WAS NOT a virgin. She wasn't even a "backdoor virgin" anymore, as she explained in the club. And that's WHY the ritual didn't work as they planned. That's why Jennifer survived but became a monster. I hope you understood the movie correctly in the end, I still have to watch the rest of the reaction. But no offense, I'm still enjoying it! 🤗
if you haven't seen Pontypool I hope you do a video on it. or even if you don't i just hope you watch it. it's such a creative horror film that pretty much takes place in only 3 rooms and will make you rethink how tropes can be reinvented
9:10 you’re wondering if she wasn’t a virgin? She literally said in the bar that she wasn’t even “a back door virgin anymore” thanks to Chris Pratt lol no of course she wasn’t one
What I don't understand, dude: It's like.... Aren't you distracted?.... By those subtitles, like literally describing EVERYTHING that's happening on screen? 🤔😅🤷♂️ Like, you can SEE, right? 🤨🤭🤗 I would be totally distracted. Sometimes when I can't UNDERSTAND what a character said, I have to turn on the subtitles for a moment. But that happens once or twice a year at best. But stuff like [panting] ?... Yeah ... I SEE that ..... 😅
What I also don't understand is that your version seems to have a BUNCH of scenes, I wasn't familiar with yet. I've researched so many different cuts on the Usenet, when I got my version and then, when I watched the movie again with my buddy on some Halloween a few years ago, HE even got another version on streaming where more lines were dubbed (mine version had a few moments in English)... So. Where did you get your version from?
People didn't like or get this movie when it first came out, but it has gotten more appreciation over the years and has gone on to become a cult classic.
The marketing around it was so bad smh. I didn't want to see it either when I first saw the trailer but was curious enough to go. I'm glad I did haha it's awesome.
Yeah, I don't know why people hated on this movie. It was fun af. Went and saw it in the movie theaters with friends, but of course, the Gayze were gonna see it after that trailer lol. Glad you had fun with it Chance & great pick narotic. Another fun react, man.
While the mis-marketing did appeal to me😅, I really enjoyed Jennifer's Body when I saw it in theaters and never understood why it got such bad reviews. Some of the dialogue is a bit 'hello fellow kids', but the humor is on point and it satirizes the 'teen horror' fad well. "Our library has an occult section?" I'm really glad it's found it's audience online.
So, what I'm wondering............. ........ Is this like a "feminist" movie?..... 🤔😅🤭🤷♂️ I'm serious, like what is the people's (and esp women's) standpoint on this?
The reason people don’t like this movie is because Diablo Cody is a terrible writer. She tries desperately to make “quotable” but they’re so cringe and it comes off as pathetic. It’s not the idea of the movie. But just like Juno, it’s just so damn try-hard.
The issue with the movie is that tries to be something which is not. It tries to aim at women empowerement while trying to be funny. The guys are a bunch of bad people that need to be put in their places, because they want sex and do everything to get it. It should had been just comedy and Jennifer attacks who she likes, or wants. The movie tries to go for the succubus thing, which they kinda try to pull down and just a demon, to not to deal with the Succubus from the myth. which do seduce and make man do whatever they want. Which is going against the bad guys to explain the empowerement. Teeth had a better empowerement development, because the movie was focus on that and removed all the unecessary things to keep the story horrifying and most cohesive. The movie for me becomes the "lets use megan fox hot body, making her do hot stuff, theres gore and some lesbian intentions... so the straights and gays will love it!"
Did you watch the right movie? The only guy who isn't lured in by Jennifer is the Indian boy, and everyone she targets is innocent. The 'bad guys' are the band who get theirs at the hands of Needy using Jennifer's power to avenge her...
