First Time Watching LOST | Season 1 Episode 6 "House Of The Rising Sun" | Television Reaction 

Sun doesn't really stay because of the flowers. But rather because of what they represent: hope. The hope that, somewhere inside the man he became, the man she loved still exists. The hope of a favorable outcome keeps you on a difficult path.

No reason to apologize, man! All you can do is give your honest opinions about the story and characters as everything progresses. And frankly all your takes so far have been pretty insightful and reasonable. Just keep doing your thing bro, really been enjoying your reaction to this series.

Happy to see you back at it again, and your reactions were great this episode. So many gut punch moments where you see the deterioration of their relationship and how she was so close to leaving him and now she’s stuck with him after getting cold feet! I remember hoping the island could be a “tabula rasa” for more than just Kate after this episode haha. Looking forward to the next one, have a great week in the meantime!

I think I had the same reaction as you when I first found out Sun was gonna leave Jin and then she got stuck on the island! so tragic.. what a rollercoaster of an episode and a great reaction! can't wait for the next few ones already man, keep going!

I remember when the show aired in Scandinavia. The production company wanted to order a show that was a cross between 'Castaway' and 'Survivor' - huge hits back then. It was so different, but having watched Twin Peaks, I stuck around to follow it, too. I first noticed after the initial episode the connection between the famous Belgian Tintin comic 'Flight 714 to Sydney' and the 'Flight 815 from Sydney' in Lost, and this was later confirmed: crashing a plane on an island etc was one of the starting points for the writers. They wanted more of that album, but costs were too big then - the pilot was the most expensive ever made. Not my fave album: The Calculus Affair, Jewels of Castafiore, Mystery Island and Pirate Treasure are my faves. Btw., Lost is full of pop culture stuff: I don't know if you've ever watched 'Buffy', but there's echoes in almost every episode from that show. And it is really just as good as this is. I like checking out the names: 'John Locke' sounds familiar somehow, too, right?

Just something to point out and help with the algo... they didn't have the keys for the handcuffs.

Ok, I'm subscribed... #167. hahahaha, yeah, I said the same thing to myself about taking shifts at the beach for the fire. But, the writers write the script for their own reasons. As for the handcuffs, did you see a key? I didn't.
