I was so caught off guard when i was watching this in theatres. I was for sure they'd make it out somehow. And then BOOM.. I sat heartbroken for a long time after the credits started to roll. Man this movie got so much hate at the time. I and many of the audience however, loved it.
34:01 stormtroopers aren’t clones. We see in the bad batch show that clones start defecting from the empire after their inhibitor chips wear off and realise they’re disposable. The Empire transitions to stormtroopers (human conscripts)
@@Yo42169It was never clearly explained until Rebels (in TV/movie media), that the Stormtroopers weren't clones. Even though it was explained in comics, games, and other forms of media. But yea the casual Bad Batch spoilers are kinda :\ I should add that OG fans didn't assume they were clones in the first place, while those who watch 1, 2, and 3 before or with the other trilogy, assume they are clones usually. Just something I've noticed.

The cost of The Death Star was calculated at about 850 quadrillion dollars, that's equal to about 13.000 times the domestic product of the entirety of Earth, for reference. It likely needed at least one quadrillion tons of steel, about 830.000 years worth of earht's current yearly steel output. It took the empire about 20 years to build and was powered by huge lightsabercrystals(kybercrystals). They had wookies in massive slave camps for years and the acquiring of the minerals destroyed the surface of entire moons. And if the empire had had a slight sense of intelligence they would have just used the minerals and money to create star destroyers, which they could have made about 6000 of, or even 1000 super star destroyers, which would have easily secured them galactic dominance for millennia.
Yeah, I quite like how stupid the Death Star really is. It’s kinda like hitler wasting everyone’s time trying to build the world’s biggest cannon or whatever. Fascism is incompetent, they love to do huge big super buildings/weapons that sound impressive with no care for efficiency. It’s all show, no thoughts.
@@valbuns They should BUT Palpatine interested with Death Star projects than Tie Defender projects, which is Thrawn was right in Rebels talking to Tarkin: “Building that thing is wasted potential” and we also knew Vader was right.
@@sheilapaolamillanrosas8922 nah, the truth is if he hadnt built the death star theyd have killed him and gotten someone else to do it, so he did it himself because if he did he could have a built in structural fuck up and he trusted that Jynn would somehow find it, thats why he sent the messenger to Saw Guerrera, it was quite literally a perfect plan considering the impossible position he was in, and he kinda knew that hed die for it too
love that Don had such an issue with Cassian who didn’t shoot her dad when he adores Anakin who murdered many many many children and then many many many others 😂
@@404-AnimationYT nah mate force awakens is crap. What makes Rogue One so good is that they've made good SW movie without lightsabers. It was captivating with a great plot. On the other hand theres force awakens where you have fully trained Kylo Ren losing to some random girl. They made dark side into a laughing stock, a dark side user that does not posses any danger at all besides what's said. You don't see him as ruthless and absolute elite of an warrior you just hear that about him in dialogues while every time you see him fight he either loses the fight or the fight ends unfinished.
In the theaters, I dont think anyone cared. it was enjoyable and a return to the greatest franchise ever. I think that most everyone knew it wasnt good as some previous star wars movies, but it doesnt mean everyone hated it and was pointing out every single fault and etc. It was really the following movies. @@invictacenturio4627
Cassian shot the guy because he had a loose mouth. He was too dangerous to be left alive. Just shows how powerful the Death Star was, the fact that a single reactor ignition was that powerful. "There's no horizon". Best line in the movie. 🤣🤣 Anyone that criticizes "be careful not to choke on your aspirations, Director" don't understand who Anakin, and Vader is/are. He's notorious for sass and brutal sarcasm. The irony. Krennic, on the tower, was the first to be killed by the Death Star on Scarif, the very thing he was responsible for. They had to fire at an angle because they didn't want to take time to fire directly over the base. They just wanted to fire as fast as possible. That end scene though.
You have to realize that "The Force" itself to non force wilders is essentially a god so when people say "May the Force be with you" they're basically saying "May God be with you"
Fun fact, but the door was not stuck. It’s implied Vader were using the force to hold it shut at the end there while he slaughtered them all in the hallway. It’s also why the door only opened once he reached it and needed it to open.
In the rebel attack to Scarif, the red five pilot unfortunately died. And the rebellion chose later a new red five pilot... Luke Skywalker as we saw in episode IV and the rest.
Fun fact: one of the rebels in the hallway is played by Matt Lantur the same actor that plays Anakin Skywalker in the clone war animated movie and TV show
Not just that, but I heard that the voice that yelled 'Open Fire!" was Sam Witwer, the voice actor for animated Darth Maul--oh and the little Rebel who pulls the switch to launch the Tantive IV is Gareth Edwards, in a little cameo.
According to Star Wars reference books, the population of the Death Star was 1.7 million military personnel, 400,000 maintenance droids, and 250,000 civilians, associated contractors and catering staff.
You GOTTA watch Andor. It’s a brilliant show that’s connected mainly with Rogue one, but the pacing and character development is way better in my opinion, because unlike with Rogue one, they had the time to fully explore their vision
Also, Kyber Crystals are what they use to power lightsabers in Star Wars. Each having their own unique colors. Blue, Green, Red, Purple. Plus, the Empire was searching for them to power the Death Star. If you remember the beam that the death star shot it was powered by the Kyber Crystals.
You are correct, except Kyber crystals are never, naturally, red, they have to go through a process called "being bleed." Long story short the Sith has to pour his hate into the crystal which corrupts it and turns it red.
@eddieboncek2447 ah! That part I missed. But thanks for informing me. I didn't know the sith had to do that for the color to change to red. Maybe I missed that bit of information through the entire Star Wars history. 👍🏽
btw stormtroopers arent clones the clones were abandoned a few yrs after ep3. stormtroopers r conscripted people and people who signed up. some stormtroopers r also people who the empire kidnapped as babies and raised as soldiers
As something approaches the speed of light, time does indeed move slower for it in relation to the rest of the universe. Theoretically, if it WERE possible for something with mass to reach the speed of light, time (from its perspective) may even freeze entirely. For example, if you were to put an atomic clock (basically just an extremely accurate clock) on a spaceship and send it 100 light years away, the clock would (theoretically) read the exact same time on arrival that it did the moment it hit light speed. What's crazier is that exceeding the speed of light may even reverse the flow of time. That being said, everything we know of physics tells us that nothing with mass can ever reach the speed of light. Source: Astrophysics major Also, the faster-than-light travel they use in Star Wars is actually just entering a sort of alternate dimension where distances between objects/planets are much shorter, so all this time dilation fuckery doesn't apply in this case.
7:20 "What happened to don't shoot the messenger?" If you don't shoot the messenger, the Empire will torture the messenger for any information he has on the Rebellion, learning about the defector pilot and how much he knew about the Death Star. Then they would have shot him.
@@lukescrew1981 lol are you kidding? The final 4 episodes of season 7 clone wars is some of the best starwars we have ever seen.. plus all of tales of the Jedi is fantastic.. and season 3 of badbatch is arguably on pace to be the best starwars season out of any of the shows.. and how tf is season 2 of mando bad? Are you one of the clowns that think just because they had a little bit of “fan service” it makes the show bad? I like andor and it has fantastic cinematography and writing but give me a break lmao
Not sure if you remember... In star wars: a new hope, they said in the briefing of the attack of the death star, They said many people died to give us this information, talking about the death star plans.. This is where that movies ties into it, all those people that died in this movie was the reason they got it because of what they did.
29:25 wait.... i thought comunication in hyperspace is not possible 0_o edit: 53:30 an Imperial I-class Star Destroyers had over 37,000 crew on board- 9,235 officers and 27,850 enlisted personnel. The complement of 9,700 stormtroopers added to a total of 46,785 crew and passengers. thats just one of those 2 destroyers
I was lucky enough to see this one in the cinema when it came out. I love this one so much, showed how much potential there is doing one-off stories within SW universe. And then Disney took it personally as a challenge and decided to mess the whole franchise altogether 😢
The stormtroopers are humans and the clone troopers are clones if you watch the bad batch you will see that they don’t want to use the clones anymore and bring humans instead.
The actor who did K2SO was also hilarious on Firefly. If you somehow haven’t watched that, it’s a popular show for reactors, has a dedicated following, and it’s not too long: 14 episodes and a movie. Pretty sure you’d like it by the end of episode 2 if not right away.
The blind badass, Chirrut, is played by Donnie Yen, who is an incredible martial artist and talented actor. If you wanna see more of him in action and in a leading role, check out the Ip Man movies. They're about the life of the man who trained Bruce Lee.
Seeing Leia at the end in the cinema really hit the feels just a few days after the actress (Carrie Fisher) died. RIP and may the force be with you, always.
“If you travel at the speed of light, does time slow down?” Literally on the level of thinking of Albert Einstein. His work in his “Theory of Special Relativity” spawned the theory of “Time Dilation”. The theory is that time moves relative to the observer, so an object (in this case the object is the observer) in motion experiences time dilation, which means that an object moving really fast experiences time more slowly than when it is at rest (not in motion)
For the first time we saw Vader fully unleashed in live action. Because of limitations back in the original trilogy they were never able to convey how powerful he really is. Not anymore. You have no idea how much people cheered when he pulled up in the final scene in theaters.
I love how saw gerra appeared in many Star Wars things even a game and shows he is more aggressive leader then the actual rebel alliance good character tho
Clone Wars. Then Bad Batch. Then Obi-Wan Kenobi. Then Andor season 1. Then Star Wars Rebels. Then Andor season 2. Then The Mandalorian seasons 1-2. Then The Book of Boba Fett (which is arguably Mandalorian season 2.5). Then Mandalorian season 3. Then Ahsoka.
@@FrozenxDeath you honestly think by the time he finishes seven seasons of Clone Wars, three seasons of Bad Batch, Obi-Wan, Andor season one, and four seasons of Rebels that season 2 of Andor won’t be out?
@@LeChaunceConsidering it's still March, and Andor's release date within 2025 hasn't been announced, that gives him anywhere from nine months to over a year and a half. So.... yeah. I don't think it'd be terribly difficult at all, let alone impossible.
@@FrozenxDeath Even if he does two or three episodes of CW and Rebels a week, I'm willing to bet he wouldn't finish everything earlier chronologically before needing Andor season 2. And even in the unlikelihood of him finishing all that up before then (remember, filming has wrapped... they're well into post-production at this point and I think we can confidently say we can expect it early in 2025, taking the spot usually reserved for a new Mando season), there won't be that much of a wait.
Yes, planetary rings do cast shadows. Moreover, these shadows would create seasonal, months long twilight/eclipse areas on the planet, with completely different climate, flora and fauna. And in the other parts of the planet, that would be completely backwards, as rings would reflect sunlight during the night, making the sky almost bright as day for months. Planetary rings generally make climate, seasons and daylight cycles quite complex, and it would probably be a total nightmare to live under such conditions. I love space
also the 2 planets in rouge one that the death star ruined but didnt destroy it aka jedha and scariff the death star was only using 1/4 of its full power
Yes. Those guys in Jeda that gave Jen a hard time and told her to just watch herself... Same guys who bothered Luke in A New Hope and Kenobi cut his arm off.
34:03 stormtroopers are not clones!! The empire discontinues the clone trooper program, stromtroopers are normal people taken from homes or who volunteered etc.
The faster you travel relative to another object, the slower time passes. If you travel in a jet from London to New York wearing a watch, your watch will be about a ten-millionth of a second behind a watch left behind in London as time passed *very very slightly* slower for you when you were on the plane.
Realisticly speaking, the Death Star would take more metal to build then we could mine from the entire planet. So, it is literaly beyond cost for us to build.
