Fun fact, the Sloth victim was NOT an animatronic. The actor, Michael Reid Mackay, had a history of wearing a lot of prosthetic makeup, and weighed only _96 pounds_ at the time of filming.

This was one of the first R rated films I watched, the scene where Sloth starts moving traumatised me so much as a kid and I still never want to see that happen again 😂 Brilliant film though. It's so good, I always loved how they leave a lot of it to your imagination as that can be worse

22:48. That's a real cast on Brad Pitts arm. In the chase scene he slipped and his arm went through a car windshield, requiring surgery. Ironically, it was in the original script for Pitts character to injure himself. It was removed, they thought the focus on his injured arm was slowing down the pace of the film. Obviously, it was reintroduce when Pitt actually injured himself, needing surgery and a cast.

About the library card & some books being flagged--that is/was absolutely true. What books is hard to say but the most well known one, especially during the McCarthy Era was the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx. The modern equivalent would be accessing or possession of a book that I don't even really want to name because it's internationally flagged. My mom was a librarian.

Random Trivia: Brad Pitt was nominated that year for Best Supporting Actor Oscar in his other movie: 12 MONKEYS. Kevin Spacey beat Brad Pitt for his role in The Usual Suspects. (Though Spacey turned out to be a creep) this was quite a year for both actors.

This is one of if not my favorite movie. I don't know what it says about me that I love Se7en, Children of Men, and Prisoners so much but oh well. My favorite number is whatever my next paycheck will be. For more Fincher I'd suggest Zodiac, Gone Girl and the Social Network.

Now is the best time to watch Alien3, directed by David Fincher with a similarly grimy aesthetic. As a follow-up to Aliens, it feels quite ugly, but when you have a taste for some early David Fincher ugliness, it actually hits the spot.
