Aerials are/were the antennas used to capture the radio signals TV channels used to be broadcast on until the last decade or so. There were smaller ones that used to sit on top of the old TVs (the big honkers that were as deep as they were tall) that had the nickname "bunny ears" because they had two antenna that usually poked off to the sides at an angle. There were also much larger ones that were attached to the outsides of buildings that looked like big grills sticking up into the sky on a pole. Both were used to improve the TV signal (often at the same time). And often enough someone had to stand by the TV and/or hold onto the antennav of the bunny ears to further improve the signal, sometimes holding out an arm, to the point that it was a pre-internet meme. A lot of the time tinfoil was attached to the to ends of the bunny ears once everything was tuned in so that no one had to do the posing thing. ... I feel old now...

I hate that this is old cuz I HOPE at least someone sees this but people don’t know how truly gifted Serj is…a singing coach that knows his sh*t said that Seth’s range is something that is VERY hard and rare and most singers can’t do the kind of range his voice goes!! And that’s coming from a very talented and famous singing coach who’s coached a lot of greats in our time so….THAT says something!! These guys were so ahead of their time!!! To listen to the words now makes it hit so much harder and I wish I would have realized that when they came out!! I was a kid and didn’t know what life was truly like yet. But here’s Serj telling us the future over 20 years ago!! I also just saw a clip of Serj talking about when he was a kid his town he lived in was being attacked and he said he’ll never forget the sound a bomb makes. And he said he lived in constant fear of losing his family or his life every day and he was only like early elementary age!! I can’t imagine being that young and being scared every day-not knowing if him and his family were going to die or not. It literally brings tears to my eyes!!! How close we were from never hearing the GOATS makes it even more special…

I have gotten so into this band, and Serj he is a Renaissance man for sure. ☮️💜🤘✨️

Saw them live on the Norwegian Wood festival way back in 2005. Pure energy and awesomeness from start to finish. Also, the last song they played was Sugar. That takes skill!

when it comes to live system of a down I think the big day out festival recordings are the best.... but you should also look into the 2 bands spawned from SOAD. the guitarist and drummer started up scars on Broadway and serj released a solo album both are amazing groups and showcase why together the sound system of a down makes is incredibly unique

My personal favorite live performance is their show where they play holy mountains in Armenia on the day of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, and the song is even about that event. It's intense

I seen someone comment on the original video that "Ariel" meant antenna in other countries. An and looking at the video after knowing that the kid looks like an alien with his features. Then putting up with the sky when he sings a few times. They are either leaving you with so many questions or in your Face telling you exactly how it's going to go down. PRISON SONG IS CRAZY. It's my favorite and they give you a whole education on the prison system and shady government in one little song.😂

The harmonizing is the guitar player, occasionally he's also the lead vocal or they take turns chorus/hook. But almost always he's doing some harmonizing in there (backup vocals).
