Regarding A-Train's heart attack. We already got foreshadowing on this when he was told the drug was causing his heart to enlargen, his bone density to become brittle (eg: when Kimiko broke his leg) etc.
Homelander is the reason that flight got destroyed, if he wasn't there or if he just used his super strength instead of his laser eyes those people would've survived
Tek Knights thing for holes was due to his brain tumor not him being a supe... homelanders thing with milk is cus of his upbringing and having no maternal figure in his life
@@everybodylovesrae_ Yeah that's not a bad assumption. We actually don't know what caused Tek Knight's tumour. Considering Andre and his Dad are having side effects from using their powers who's to say that the tumour isn't caused by the Compound V ?
I was checking the video description looking for your patreon and was surprised by what you had to say about the current events. I can see now why everybody loves rae. Much respect
Yeah, it's ANOTHER plane that he destroys that had Shettys husband and kid...not the one that's in the first episode. Lol so yeah I guess you could say he has a little bit of a habit of destroying planes while they are in the air lmaooo
Hello Rae! Your Reaction to "The Boys" showed up on My feed today! I had never watched one of Your Reactions before, but i enjoyed this Reaction so much that I subscribed! I'm about to check out which other shows You've Reacted to! Keep up the good work on these Videos!
@@DanielGonzalez-xu1hi They never said that, what they said is that Sam was stronger than Golden Boy, and they were using Sam to enhance Golden Boy, he was getting stronger and more powerful, and if he would have gotten the suit he could've burned really hot and be super powerful, he had a lot of potential, but Sam isn't even close to Homelander. Jordan Li alone can beat Sam, and big Emma was able to stop him too. Of the Gen V characters he is obvioulsy the strongest in term of strenght, but he doesn't have any feat that is close to Homelander, Soldier Boy, Maeve, or Black Noir.
So fun fact, the comic this is based on had the plane that went down be the exact same plane that did 9/11. So, in The Boys comics, Homelander is partially responsible for 9/11.
@@everybodylovesrae_ There are still 9/11 parallels in the show. Obviously plane, terrorists ect. But also homelanders speech "I hear you! And the whole world will hear us!" Is nearly word for word what George Bush said after 9/11
@@doobzsalam1847 Homelander in the beginning of this show was really influenced by Bush. Later on they transitioned more to Trump parallels. Maybe it's bc I'm older but I always thought the Bush parody was more fitting for what Homelander represents but people seem to enjoy it either way.
@@cthulhuwu_ Well if we wanna get REALLY analytical it could be taken as how America has gained more and more radical beliefs in a post 9/11 world. The homelander before and after flight 37 is different as he starts gaining much more power and it’s sort of the catalyst for lots of things. In the same way America which homelander represents the worst and most extremist of, has changed and gotten more radical post 9/11. Or they were just taking moments from the comics that took place and were written during the Bush era and therefore assigned homelander bush but as they expanded into there own story they moved onto a more modern topic
Girl... I stumbled upon your The Summer I Turned Pretty reactions by happenstance and I can't stop binging your content. Love your energy, love the way your brain works, huge fan 🤗🖤
2:27 I know I shouldn't laugh, but that edit was hilarious😂. 25:50 Interestinng perspective. 27:05 Looked it up and it's actually wild, didn't get the reference when I first watched it. 33:06 Bi, not lesbian. 46:11 Yeah, Shetty approached her about the virus. Did you prefer Gen V's first season or The Boys first season?
Ah, yes, the most consistent thing about this show: making us regret ever wishing for something. 😂 What was really great about the twist with Becca is that it's so foreshadowed early on that it's easy to forget up until it comes back to bite us.
Well, I think there was enough time from the moment the pilots died to at least have saved just the children. I mean how many kids are there an any given flight? Both Maeve and Homelander just saving who they could would have made a difference. If Shetty at least had her daughter and knew they tried to save her husband, she would have never sought revenge.
They could have saved them, Homelander did that on purpose. 15 sec before he destroyed the cockpit he lasers that one guy chirurgicaly in the chest not damaging anything else
There was no time. Maeve can't fly, so not only is she useless she's extra baggage Homelander had to carry in that scenario. They were over waters and real-life distances are much greater than people think, because all the movies people have seen. So when a movie or a tv show tries to be a bit realistic, it's like "no no, they could've done this". "But Homelander can fly really fast, so what difference does the distance make?" - it's really just basic physics. If he flew "that fast" people would just fall apart in his arms. It's why eventually Superman had to get extra properties (or powers even) to his powers, to explain how he can just fly and catch people and objects at these incredible speeds, because physics don't really allow for that. Also the moment Homelander accidentally lasered the cockpit he realized he can't save anyone, cause he can't have witnesses saying he was there (on time) and stopped the villains, but somehow couldn't save the rest of the people. There would be questions (as to what happened to the plane) he'd never want answered.
@@SlCKNESS_ a bunch of bs excuses. Maeve can survive a jump into water and HL could have saved two if he wanted. He didn’t care about saving people, wake up. 😝
@@IAMHIM15He could have saved some of them, but the objective was not save them but to put them in the military, so he would only do samething if he could saved all of them, only some would be a failure
Not Hughie. The actor playing Hughie - Jack Quaid. The jury's still out on Hughie's mom (we'll apparently meet her in Season 4) but his dad is being played by Simon Pegg.
its not a product of compound v, tek knights tumor affected a part of his brain and gave him a weird kink, while homelanders upbringing without a mother led to to have mommy issues. their privilege due to being supes led to both afflictions being brought to a higher extreme than they would have in a regular human. tek knights also rich as shit
25:53 They could have saved them, homelander did that on purpose. 15 sec before he destroyed the cockpit he lasers that one guy surgically. in the chest not damaging anything else.c
@@tomotomi2182 You doubt it with your both brain cells. Than it must be true. Ofc he did it on purpose its telegrafed not so obviously but perceptive ppl will see it np. Its ok we all watch on diferent level.
Homelander did not do that on purpose. On some level he really enjoys killing humans, so the only restraint he shows is when he has an audience. The moment it was just him and Maeve he didn't even think he could damage the plane, he just lasered that guy he wanted to kill really quickly.
@@SlCKNESS_ Yea, thats a good argument i thought about that too. Its subtle , you have to watch the scene where Stillwell tells them about the plane, and how they are suposed to save it, Homelander doesnt like it , you can see it on his face. Its bc up until this scene he is always arguing with Stillwell in every scene she is in, she wants him to do one thing and Homelander thinks he knows better. its like a theme of their conversations. And its the same with the plane, Homelander doesnt like it bc he is told what to do again.I dont know if he planned to destory the plane from beginning but he was definitely going there to do it HIS WAY(it being getting supes into army), and he did. And he supercharged some jihadees all over the world give him some credit😁.
Surgically. Because he had time to plan it out and focus. He killed the guy in the cockpit out of reflex and in a split second. He didn’t have time to adjust his sights or account for anything behind him. So.. it was a genuine mistake. But an “oh well” mistake to him.
Just wish you'd watched it before Gen V, since it spoiled a LOT of good stuff for you. Also, Gen V is pretty crap in comparison, so prepare yourself for a much better story/show/experience. It gets better each season.
@@mrmouse9476 It starts off strong, but is rather mediocre in terms of overall writing. Still enjoyable, if you don't expect "The Boys" level of writing. Or even very good writing. You might even think it has (very) good writing if you just watch it and don't think too much about it.
@SlCKNESS_ I didn't like the romance at all, except for Sam and the girl that can turn small. I like their relationship. But besides that, it's a good show in turns of a spinoff. It didn't feel like popcorn food were you have to turn off your brain to enjoy it. The best part was the characters, I really grew to love the main cast and am interested to see where season 2 will go. TLDR, romance bad characters good, good spinoff.
@@mrmouse9476 The last few episodes of the first season of Gen V were legit awful. At least to me. It's like they skipped a season or something, none of the things some of the characters were doing made any sense. Even some of the scenes didn't connect logically.
