Welcome back to the cinema sofa folks!! Well, I tried to stay away, tried to just enjoy this excellent series on my own. But old school friends from all the way back in the states talked me into it. Every time I think I'm out, they pull me back in...gladly in this case! X-MEN 97' is here on the channel, unfortunately though I had already watched several episodes before I was lured into during reactions, so apologies. Maybe I'll do a commentary on those early episodes later. For now, get your movie snacks, drinks, and make mine marvel!

And for the Australian X-Men: Rogue was also part of the Team, but Gambit wasn't created during that time. The Australian X-Men era began after Fall of the Mutants around issue 226 and Gambit was first indrouced in the comics with issue 271 (when I remember right).

Hey thanks for the comment! Yeah he was, right before the Muir Island Saga (had those comics). I figured the show was retroactively getting the continuity on track with the comics by killing him off, but now with apocalypse finding that card...perhaps another arc...

@@KensCinemaSofa Yeah, I don't believe they gonna do the Australian X-Men. Season 2 is gonna be all about Apocalypse and Season 3 maybe Onslaught.

I'm glad to come across another fan of the Outback X-men. It's a period of their lore that is short but underrated.

As am I now! Appreciate the comment and takin a brother back ol school, for me as a 12 year old kid reading it in southside chicago, it just made me dream of other places. In Japan now so it helped get me here you could say lol

Without spoilers, I can say that this season is a mix of classic stories no one dared to do before and bad 90’s stories that this show managed to rehab. The Genoshan attack is from Grant Morrison’s E is for Extinction.

Hey thanks for the comment! Yeah ive already finished the series, just editing takes a ton of time. Totally agree with you, love the Motendo episode because it reminded me of the little extra stories you used to get in comics back in the 70's and 80's. A lot of non comic readers wouldn't get that

@@KensCinemaSofa There’s a couple of Easter Eggs in the finale that go unnoticed. The Magneto protocols shows that Erik Lensherr is an alias and lists the names of 3 real world Magneto actors as other aliases. The story Forge hears on the clock radio about Santo Marco is reference to a recent story called Magneto Was Right and possibly a hint that Irae, Queen of Wrath will be a villain next season.

@@KensCinemaSofa When you say extra stories, do you mean the new stories that were added to the X-Men Classics reprint series?

@@MrDpool1 Yes! I meant more in comics in general, but yeah I had more than a few of the X-Men classics. One extra story that sticks out to me is the Proteus one where he battles nightcrawler and wolverine, he attacks wolverine by bending his form and sanity.

@@KensCinemaSofa Yep. I know Proteus came before Mr. Nobody, but he’s almost like a Doom Patrol villain.
