Get a intake manifold. I got one and im in California of all places. I have to swap back to stock before Smog Checks but once you learn how to remove and replace its worth the gains!
Cool video man. I like the mods you've done! I have a 06 rsx with k&n typhoon cold air short ram intake, and a header back skunk2 exhaust. I don't have kpro, but after installing just those two mods I found that my vtec kicks in at 3800 RPMs. And it's pushing 220 WHP now. I've street raced mustang GTs and WRXs and beaten them straight out. I personally recommend Skunk2 exhaust and K&N products, they're really expensive!!! But it's worth it.
ok i like the video, but first off cold air intake (CAI) dont give more top or better ''Vtec' or anything, it just gives colder air to the engine making a more effective burn. gains are virtually nonexistant unless you get a reflash. short ram intakes (SRI) are one of the worst mods you can do, you will always lose power with a SRI due to the hot air, this has been prooven many times on dyno runs and footage is easy to find on youtube. the best is to keep the stock airbox and remove the resonator within it and using a K&N air filter. one has to realize that very little gains will be had from just bolt ons without a reflash and/or dynotune. when you go on a website and dealers claim +30HP thats with a dynotune not just by bolting it on there.
i got my rsx type s it had a few mods on it already i'm watching videos to learn more about the mods that it already has so i can make my own plans to build it
Dude I have a 2005 g35 coupe six speed with DCSport Sri, Stillen exhaust, 20 inch concept one staggered wheels and honestly my old 2002 automatic RSX was more fun lol I swear.
good stuff man as we all know money is the issue most of the time or we'd all have race cars lol but just start building your part slowly you already know what you need maybe some cams definitely K Pro and a tune I'm rocking the 03 type S would a TSX swap in it waiting to put on my A2 head and stage 2 Brian Crower cams Springs retainers Etc but keep up the videos I enjoy watching them not too many RSX guys out here anymore making decent content
They're all great mods I'm doing a cat less Megan header with a custom straight pipe resonator delete and no muffler just a pipe from the header all the way to the back no restrictions more free flowing and power gains I'm also gonna upgrade my fuel injectors and fuel pump install a performance clutch BC Racing Coilovers a cheap cold Air intake with a quality filter and then I'm gonna invest at least 2 grand into a turbo kit I also want to upgrade my throttle body and camshafts a big break kit won't fit because my rims are a lower offset so they sit more against the hub and stick out farther past my Front and Rear fenders but a Front tower strut bar and a Lower Strut bar would be a good upgrade for suspension cross drill Rotors with performance Break pads as well these are mods on my list for my car I'll be doing through out this year to next year
Their is so much for you to learn about your car it’s not even funny intake header and exhaust is a good start to wake the car up but if you don’t get the k-pro your basically running stock still which at times can be too rich or too lean and can cause you to blow the motor. And some of the people on here that comment on your video don’t know shit. But good video though
Omareko if you really want to make power with your car do not change your transmission to the type R one all you need to do if your running a 05-06 Type S with the 4.7 final drive all you need is to change the 4th gear main and 4th gear counter shift to the type R 4th gear. USDM 4th gear 1.147 and the type R as 1.212 which is shorter than than the usdm. Combine with the lsd your will run like a true Type R with a tune . I have a 300 hp k24/k20 if you like to know more link me up
Good video man! I dont think the intake manifold would make it run cooler as thats the job of the cold air intake, the larger diameter would definately add to air flow though!
Omareko exactly! I was just thinking when u we’re going Thru the mods gotta get that upgraded Throttle body. Lol glad I found your channel. I agree with about all your mods I did pretty much the same except I got a stand-alone 1st Aem Infinity. . Got a real good deal and couldn’t pass it up. But I have all the same mods as u. Love k-tuned and hybrid racing parts. I have a DC5 front clip with k20a type R engine and trans with Lsd which makes such a difference. I would say after u get pro. If u really wanna build the car get an lsd. It will make your type s feel like a whole new animal. Especially after u get the kro then tune. Keep up the vids. I plan on posting soon as well.
Jason OC I’ve had the bigger throttle body sitting in my garage for a while and also wanna get a LSD. I didn’t bring it up on the video since I feel like I talk too much haha. I also wanna get a type r transmission. I was thinking about just buying an aftermarket LSD but I might as well get the whole thing since it comes with a 4.7 differential. I’ll subscribe now to keep updated on your videos 👍🏻
Intake manifold and intake dosent "cool ypir engine down" at all. Its purpose is to pull air in the help the combustion of the fuel. Injectors spit the fuel, plugs spark the fuel, intake gives the air needed for the fuel to combust.
Hey man, quick question - based on your experience with progress and bc coilovers, which would you prefer in terms of daily driving? I’m on tein lowering springs now, but have been looking at progress, BC or buddy club (buddy club is way more pricey than I wanna spend, especially just for daily, but have only heard good things). Any advice would be awesome!
From my experience I’d go with Proggres. They have no adjustment settings but even with out having that option they felt great. Out of all of them they felt the most stable and gave the car a more of a performance feels. While keeping the car comfortable.
No... Not all race headers are created equal. Especially when talking about a custom race header versus a shelf race header. And when you are N/A those extra ponies make a difference.
Gotta check bcus this Civic RSX same stuff created a lot of problems for me. They never say the hard part, ex. It saved money on struts and springs but it took more than a day to get em in. All thanks to these "completely interchangeable" people.
When someone says "DC5" they are talking about the "platform". The older Honda/Acura Integra(I think from 90's to 01) was the DC2 platform. All RSX models are DC5s. There is the base model and then there is the Type S model. Hope that helped some.
I have been having my DC5 for about 3 years now and I have probably spent around $13K-$17K into the car, can you give a quick estimate on much you have spent on the to this day😉
Like "oh my God" take some speech classes, don't smack your lips, don't speak so fast, and your basically saying aftermarket headers are worthless and that just getting a test Pipe. Which makes no sense, because any decent aftermarket headers will help the exhaust flow tremendously yes the cat restricts it but a what you described not even mentioning a motor should have a certain amount of back pressure is uneducated, changing your intake is going to make your car run rich it is a no brainier. You shouldn't even change it if you don't have a tune or a piggy back tuner ready because it is going to put more wear on your motor ruin spark plugs, didn't mention something even more important than exhaust which is rotational Mass. You can have all the hp in the world but if you have 2000lb of rotational Mass you aren't going to be home any where quickly. Which means light wheels, lighter tires, and light weight flywheel. And you saying you don't have the power between 7k-9k rpms you remove rotational Mass and you won't ever have that problem again if your car is running right.
Maybe your video isn't perfect but at least you aren't wearing a backwards baseball cap in butt pirate style the way Lois and Serge does on their channels.
