Got my first type a few months ago at 750 hours (450 as a CFI). Lots of people out there will try to make you believe you have to instruct until 1500, but with a little bit of perseverance and networking you can escape that fate!
If you fly with experienced mentors, you will safely learn how to handle many threats that confront a pilot of a high performance airplane on every flight. Check your ego at the door, ask for help if you need it, and you will have a long, great career. Unrelated but relevant saying. “The wise learn more from a fool, than the fool from the wise. Just my opinion, but look at the accidents of single engine turbine high performance planes especially.
@@HangarTalkFS Yeah, europe and the US have fundamentally different systems. Very grateful for the fact I am able to do what I do, but also wouldn't mind the US Style of doing it.
@@HangarTalkFSI know of friends working in Europe , finish flight training, 5 weeks after they finish their A320 type rating and working for the airlines. The US honest waste pilot time but it’s still worth it
I have 475 hours and am IFR and Commercial rated. Can anyone advise on whether I realistically need a CFI and CFII rating to get hired into a job like Bryce got?
Hey Will, a CFI/CFII is not required but of course can help. A sky diving operation, and aerial surveillance can be great options to build time. Otherwise like Bryce you need to be patient and network with local pilots and operators.
