I wasn't going to wait long to start customizing the bike and making it my own. I've got less than two months to break this bike in and get it set up for the ride to Canada!
I have the 4.5" windshield now and it works amazing. I have photos on my IG of a guy who installed the standard size engine guard and then added the traditional lower fairings.
Nice vid and start to your customization. I like the “Box” you have. Can you share the details on it as I have the same bike and color. Again great video.
Matt!! The color is amazing. Love the box set up. Can’t wait to see the upgrades. T Bars are in my future as well. Since i have the thrashin floorboards/shifter/brake pad, their T-Bars are the obvious choice. #KeepRipping
@@robertvittetoe6158 Great choice!! I love the look of the new SG fairing, trying to convince my friend to upgrade to one so I can look at it when he’s riding with me 🤣🤣
Make sure you adjust the rear shocks, particularly the right side. You can always get suspension but this system is upgraded and once you adjust it for your weight it’s really good. I’ve had no issues with mine.
After adjusting my rear shocks I don’t see a need to get a new suspension right away, and if you’ve watched any of my videos you know I push this bike hard.
Got a 24RG, also Whiskey Fire, but with chrome. I had SE cannon slip-ons installed, pro street tuner and a wedge air filter, looks good, stock motor feels really strong. Just installed a Saddlemen Road Sofa CF Ext. Reach seat (no backrest), very comfortable, sits me back a couple inches. To break up the chrome look, I installed a pair of black empire mirrors, and the carbon fiber center console (which looks fantastic against the whiskey fire color). Got a 10" Harley wind splitter now (which works fine), but will change over to a 11" freedom shield, and install Memphis shades when I get them. Have fun on your trip.
Nice bike. That’s my favorite color for the new road glide. The slip on’s sound really good. Can’t wait to see what you add to it next. Be safe on your travels.
Did you get your bike tuned for the pipes? It helps to have it done. The results may be surprising. By the way, I like the look of the box. Quite a good idea and a handle.
Half the fun of bike ownership. Making it ours. Careful considered modifications for long distance riding. Experience on the road cannot be bought. 🇦🇺✌🏻
Just remove the top clamp that holds the handlebars in place. On the underside of the clamp is a pin. Snip off or grind off that pin and it allow much more room to roll the bars forward. I did the same to mine.
It’s more of an ADV thing, but it comes off easily with a handle so I just pop it off and bring it into the hotel at night. Plus I like putting the stickers on it. 🤷🏻♂️
