The City of Virginia Beach has partnered with Venture Realty Group and started the development of a mixed-use project, Atlantic Park, on the site of the former Virginia Beach Dome. The development is backed by star entertainer Pharrell Williams and features a 2.67-acre Wavegarden Cove surf park that generates waves for beginner and experienced surfers ranging between 1-6ft (0.3-1.8m). The Atlantic Park venue will also include new-to-market restaurants, experiential retail, residential and office space, as well as state-of-the-art indoor/outdoor entertainment facilities.
