This is actually a carpenter bee (Xylocopa) which resembles a bumble bee but has a larger head and a shiny, almost bare abdomen. They are the ones that bore the holes in wood. It is difficult to get them to sting (from experience in a laboratory milking the venom from many kinds of stinging insects).
I've heard it's also kind of rare to see the females out and about, and that the ones which buzz in your face and act like they're hot shit when you get close to their nest are the males.
@@PhirePhlame Both male and female carpenter bees visit flowers. Females typically fly directly to their nests (i.e., holes in wood) while the males hover outside, chasing off anything that looks like a competing male. The sexes are easy to tell apart: males have very large compound eyes, like those of a honey bee drone or even resembling some kinds of dragonflies, and they typically have a large white area on their face (clypeus), while females have smaller compound eyes and their faces are completely black. There are a few species in which the females are completely black while the males are of a golden-brown color.
At my granddad's house, a red wasp got in once. However his cat wound up saving us the trouble of killing it by swatting it down into the soapy water of the kitchen sink.
Yep, so unexpected! I was wearing Bose AE2 headphones and had the volume up a little high. I wish I could've read your comment before I experienced that loud noise lol.
And this is why most people shouldn't have pets... yes I said most. Through my years of living most people are super irresponsible with their pets. Youu can tell the difference between a responsible owner or a irresponsible owner by the pets behaviour.
@@ibra673 Bumblebees do not die when they sting and unlike honeybees they can sting multiple times. The same is true of the carpenter bee which is what this one is.
@@ibra673 Only honeybees are like that, and this bee clearly was not. Way too large. To me, it looks like a carpenter bee moreso than a bumblebee, but they both have smooth stingers with no barbs to speak of.
@@KoiTheAlchemist And this obviously could've been easily prevented?? Why the fuck would you sit and let your cat get stung by a bee just to record. Also stick a smiley face in the title. Bad owner.
Fez 3 excuse me im trying to trigger that bitch and also that bitch does deserve to die bees dont deserve to die they are super improtant to the ecosystem and cats pffftttt those bitches betrayed the enviroment instead of declinging rat populationg they started killing many animals and animals that are at risk of extinction and also dont just guess age your not always right
i know animals must learn and nature does what nature does but i am sorry if that was me i would worry my cat could suffer an allergy, costing a shit load in vet bills, and then you have a dead pet and a dead endangered bee on your hands for the sake of a five minute torture film. Just consider this stuff, but what you do is your call not mine. Beautiful cat by the way.
Evgeny Subbotsky Obviously, I have 6 cats and have worked with animals my whole life, but that's why you get them toys, they use the same predatorial instincts while playing with a toy as they do with insects and rodents, but it's the safer option. You don't let them play with something that can kill them, or even just hurt them "because they're predators." That's most ignorant thing I've ever heard. I seriously can't stand the *because-they-can* reason people give for doing stupid things. Do people REALLY lack this much common sense?
Kristen Miller So your poor 6 cats always stay at home, and don't hunt, and do not fight with other cats, and do not live their free life? It's OK for them to be free in nature. As you see in the video, I was next to Fisel as he got bitten, and if there was any sign of allergic reaction, I know what to do (the more so he was bitten by bees couple of times when he was a kitten, so I know he has no allergy). "Leave nature alone!" G. Carlin )))
Evgeny Subbotsky Yeaaaa, I'm pretty sure that cat in the video was also inside of a home, lol. It's called "Domesticated" for a reason. They've evolved to be comfortable inside of a home. We're not talking about wild tigers here. And yes, my cats do hunt and play, again, they have toys. Which (again) brings out the same exact instincts as they had in the wild. Sorry, but everytime I see a dead cat in the road from being hit by car doesn't make me think "yea, this is a much better life for a cat." My "poor" cats? Bhahaha! "Poor" is the absolute last word anyone thinks of when they see my cats. My 3 story 8,000 sq ft home is pretty much set up as an animal sanctuary. Trust me, their lives are even much better than my own. Actually learn something about animals and stop being so ignorant, THEN you can come talk to me, lol.
While I can agree that letting the cat mess with the bee and get stung isn’t something someone should do to laugh at, a bee sting isn’t gonna kill the cat. Just teaches them not to mess with the same insect again! If they were to purposefully injure the cat, then yes, that is animal abuse, but the owner wasn’t forcing the cat to get stung. The cat was messing with the bee itself. Not abuse.
Do you enjoy watching your pets get painful stings by bees? You take the time to film it? Animal Cruelty. The courts should order you to give away your cat and ban you from EVER owning a pet again. My goodness I wonder how you treated your children.
Looking for Wyatte you are a moron you are saying the cats curiosity and natural instincts why not film a natural sight and make it educational fucking moron.
