Matts, just wanted to let you know i was up late due to an anxiety attack but watching your video put my mind at ease. thank you for being there once again, how i found your channel was 5 years ago when i broke my ankle and lost my job, watching you i forget my worries.
Hey bro, if you have the opportunity just get out there to the ocean. Or plan for it and look forward to it. We're all here because we relate with Matts and he represents someone struggling and succeeding. You just have to get out there even if you fail
@@julesl6910 thanks for your supportive and kind words. I have been out more doing clamming and such. I just want to let Matts know how he has helped me out. I hope to see you out there too Jules, tight lines. 😊
@@alexruwhiu7384 you must have seen my avatar picture, in tomales bay there is a diverse group of clams from geoduck, two types of gaper clams, Washington clams, razor clams, blood clams, and steamer clams. I target the first 3 species primarily but all the others I have caught as a bycatch. Steamers are easy so I let the kids do them. Clams taste great and as long as you are not drinking the clam juice it’s not salty. Sashimi, deep fried, in congee, salads, etc.
I was fishing for lingcod up here in Depoe Bay one day, and this guy taught me a trick to get your jig back when you get snagged. You release all tension on the line and you wait for one minute. Set a timer. Don’t apply any pressure until the minute is up. I’ve retrieved so many lures that way. It requires discipline. And patience. I’m telling you, it works. I’ve actually added a minute if it didn’t come free after one minute and gotten it back. Try it. It works. Like the Egyptians used to say thousands of years ago, “Or your mummy back.”
@@julesl6910 Give it lots of slack. Zero tension. As I said, it doesn’t always work. But when it does come off and you get your rig back, you’ll be very happy. Give it a try, Jules. You’ll see.
Yeah bro, 72 hour fasts become super easy especially when you cut out processed carbohydrates, refined sugars and hydrogenated plant and seed oils. I lost 55 pounds fishing and fasting and reversed my diabetes, fatty liver and high blood pressure. I also do a 48-72 hour fast at least once a month along with an OMAD style daily diet. The only thing I changed recently is eating more freely on the weekends but nothing too crazy. Thank you for inspiring me years ago. Your videos really helped me to learn how to fish, something I always wanted to learn since sharing fond memories of my Grandfather surf fishing when I was a kid.
@@ReefDonkey I do a ketogenic diet so once you're fat adapted you don't feel hunger like you do when you eat processed carbs and refined sugars. You actually have to remind yourself to eat. As long as you keep up with minerals by putting seasalt under your tongue a few times a day and keep some water in you, you feel satiated.
I know you’re prolly mad busy with the fam and stuff man but we miss you Matts ! Can’t wait for your next video to come out I’m always checking almost everyday :) sending some love brotha
Great video with spectacular views and beautiful clean water. I live and fish off of Long Island NY and it’s mostly sandy beaches except for the North and South fork boulder fields. Congrats on your fast but it’s tough the first day but for me gets easier after that. Stay strong brother and love all the gear I purchased!
@@FishermansLife I’ll definitely go place the reservation! I’ve been needing a rod like this for awhile now and you’ve given me the best option! Thanks for the heads up Brotha🤙🏽
Just bought some merchandise yesterday picked up a longsleeve UV shirt and custom Ling King shirt. Been watching your channel since 2015? Glad I could help support this content.
I've been Parting through a few different catch and cook videos and their are a Ton that are great to watch. Your channel is always a Big inspiration to myself and my friends, no doubt. for Sur
I've been fasting like that for almost 20 years now. If you can handle it, it's definitely worth it. And make sure you stay well hydrated! Thats extremely important. 👍
I did a 21 day fast in 2004. After day 10, you know all the toxins are leaving your body. By day 21, I really wasn't hungry, but I started eating every other day for a week or so. I felt great for a year or so. It's a great idea to fast like that once in a while. Late winter is probably best because of our natural cycles.
Always enjoy your videos man keep it up and yea it sucks that fishing equipment is so expensive and is only getting more and more expensive I enjoy fishing aswell every time I watch your videos inspires me to go back but how expensive it is makes me not want to but that’s just an excuse but keep up the good vids man.
Even though, many times, fish are off the bottom in that type of location, of the first spot. I would try mid depth as a first choice to avoid snags and just to really gauge the area. Fish are not always directly off the bottom. Especially, the big ones! In the summer months, you will get the real big fish off the top.
Dang bro , almost but just not big enough. It goes to show if you were in a total survival mode you'd be doing just fine with those two nice Ling cods .thank God for the good old avocado ! Thanks again Matt .your fishing bro from the beautiful Channel Islands in ventura So. California .👍
I started drinking 2 gallons of water daily bc I daily drank beer for a good 3 months prior, but kept that strict 2 gallons of water daily for a year and a half prior to daily drinking beer. I also was on a strict clean diet with fruits and veggies for a good year and a half
I lost too much weight fasting twice a month for a year so I stopped. But I developed this sharpness or clear headedness that is like drinking a cup of coffee without feeling jumpy. If you're just drinking water, you're losing minerals that your brain needs to keep firing. Try drinking gatorade or pedialyte. Take care.
Super curious about the fasting regimen. I've been wanting to try a fast for the health benefits but I'm already a pretty lean person an don't want to lose the muscles from a loss of calories.
if youve got some fat i think youll be fine as you dont easily start burning muscle, unless youre really not used to burning fat perhaps, still, should be minimal.
I want you to have your own lake. Not as a competition but as something for everyone. To test new gear, get feedback and in general something for everyone to be a part of. Self sustaining lake. Joe Robinet a survilst needs one to.
You gotta do some fishing in Corpus Christi Texas some time, probably the best fishing out there, for sure you should try to link up with Thesherfishing out in CC as well
You should try a bass hook and set it up weedless texas rig style you can swap weights depending on current conditions and you wont get snagged with that exposed hook
Stonestown, 50+ years ago we used to shop that place. After school at State college we'd stop for a slice. Good memories and too fishing the rocks off Montara. I'd catch mostly perch. Sorry, no fasting for this man.
Hey Matt, do you have a P.O. Box id be able to send some fishing lures and gear to try out? I work for a small company in Everett, Washington called Fisherman’s Gold. I’d really like for you to try out some new plastics baits we’ve designed and see how well they work with the fish down in cali, would love to hear back from you and as always love your videos, thank you -Austin
they aren't that hard to find, 4 years ago when I started watching FL videos I also wanted to know where every spot is. But no one will tell you, so I learned how to find them using google maps and other imagery
I'm about your age and I will say that I agree with just about everything you said in this video. I fish, and I also do the 72 hour fasting. It's pretty rough the first 1-2 day, but at day 3, my body got used to it and I feel alert, clearer vision, feels great. Fasting is good for us when done properly. Obviously you want to drink water like you are, and also take some electrolytes.
I tried a one day fast and could barely do it. I learned later that you should start light if you've never fasted before. I swear everyone was tempting me, they were out there grilling ribs and everything 😭Gotta say though, food never tasted so good. I was savoring every bite afterwards. Can't imagine what it'd be like to starve, or be hungry like that all the time. 72 hours is wild
I had gastric sleeve surgery like a decade ago. I never feel hunger and still can't eat more than a measuring cup of food every 30m. Sometimes I forget to eat for a few days till I get light headed....protein shakes are what I remember to eat with.
You need to make a fishing trip out to FL. Spend a month head down teh North east coast, all the way down, and back up on the west coast . Hitting up them fishing, crabs and scallops. Hella tight.
Nice video as usual Matt! That trout swim bait used to be the ticket for huge bass in California. You are the first I have seen put it in the ocean on RU-vid. ( I haven’t seen every video on RU-vid 😉) I have thrown the Osprey without success, they’re too light. But I do have access to the bait you used and I going to give it a whirl now.🤙
I’ve done a 3 day fast before and heard the same stuff about it behind unhealthy. All those comments came from people who had done 0 research on it. There’s most definitely health benefits from doing it.
48 hour fasting is pobably the best. Most of the research I came up with showed that anything after 48 hours can actually be bad since your body will start eating muscle after that.
Matt I need some advice. Where did you go to get your logo copyright. Or trademark..And how much is it to get it done..Need to know before I start my Utube channel
