Hey roger can you please do a video on catching bull sharks me and my dad have been wanting to do shark fishing but we don’t know if we have the right tackle and the right bait
Great tips mate. The good old pool noodle and cable ties is the perfect flotation device for the sieve and a length of rope to your waist makes for an easy and enjoyable yabby pumping session 🦞
Great video Rodger. Catching yabbies is one of my earliest fishing memories and is such a valuable skill. Thanks for sharing this. For those considering joining Rodgers Fishing don’t hesitate, it’s such a fantastic resource and an authentic fishing community full of awesome resources.
Hi Roger. I used to pump nippers and squirt worms around the Woy Woy Nsw area back in the 1980s. I am 70 now and my 7 year old grandson has gotten me enthused again. Time to dust of the Alvey and Butterworth. See you on the water. Cheers.
THANK YOU SSOOOOOOO MUCH. In my opinion, this is the most useful, professional, and to the point tutorial about pumping yabbies. New comers, you gotta pay attention, each and every tip in this video will make ur session much more better and enjoyable.
Roger mate it’s always an absolute pleasure to watch your videos. So informative with the little details you take time to include and not to mention the vast amount of knowledge you possess. Please Keep these amazing videos coming I’ll be sure to tune in!
Hi ROGER, well done on the video ,what a great bank for yabbies ,more whiting fishing videos please its a big part of my fish targets, whiting summer time, bream and snapper in the winter , Thanks again for your videos. Cheers Chris
Thanks for the video Roger, certainly learned an easier way pumping these nippers. As a follow up video, it would be great if you are able to show us viewers the proper way in baiting a nipper on a hook. Keep up the good work mate!
Hi Roger, I use my sieve with the noodle wrapped round it to put my yabbies in -- I use an aluminium prawn scoop with galvanised rat wire (about 30-40cm deep) with a lever on the handle so that the scoop is on a good angle to pump into. The sieve is tied by a length of thin rope to my belt and towed round as I pump. The whole set up is great for a 1 man pumping excursion.
Hey Roger, you may have seen this already, but if you get a pool noodle and cable tie it around your sieve under the lip/top it allows it to be more self filtering in slightly deeper water. It was a real bonus to me.
Roger, not certain if this has been bought up before, just buy a cheap pool noodle around $3 cut a slit in it then place the edge of the sieve into the noodle and feed it along until the sieve is surrounded by the pool noodle then just cut off any surplus noodle. The sieve now floats freely and any sand with the pumped in yabbies just washes away as you move along. Those yabbies with the really big nippers get denippered early on as you can bet when fishing in the dark and reach for a yabby it will get you.
A car tyer inner tube works perfectly for holding your sieve, not pumped too hard. Lasts for years. Wear a belt that holds a small bucket with handle, and yes your pump action is spot on.
Gday mate used to do this in townsville when i was posted there wait till low tide and spend an hour or so collecting bait still got my alvey pump in the shed havent used it in a long time now .
Great video, thanks for the pointers. Tip for the sieve is to put a bike tyre around it so it floats. But like you demonstrated you really don’t need it.
Hi Roger. Great video (love my yabbying!!). I’m sure you’re doing it as a matter of course - but worthwhile letting viewers know that you should also be checking for eggs under the tail and letting those females go. :-)
HI Roger! Your explanation about sucking the water up and doing the full draw without pushing helped me so much. I usually only pump nippers down in the wollongongarea. Ive really had trouble finding them in the Sydney area where i Live. Is this video in narrabeen lake?
Great video mate.Do.you find rising tide or falling tide better or worse? What's your tips on avoiding being stranded on a sand bank as your busy pumping nippers on a falling tide? Can you make a video on where to fish in estuaries and what rigs to use when bait fishing and where? Keep up the great work mate.👍
Up here in SE QLD yabbies are my go to bait i havent userd live mullet since i was a kid but showing us how easy it was to catch them last week was great but what is the most efective way to rig them in strong current and other slack tide areas it could be a whole topic to cover some time
Love the videos, finally someone presenting information for the average angler. Quick question, can you use live poddy mullet from the beach. Thanks for the videos.
Could we have some crab videos. Maybe the best bait that you know of, best depth *for your location* obviously will change from spot to spot but may help
great video, again! Would it be possible to end your bait catching videos with how you rig them, this would also have been great at the end of the mullet video. I love fishing and often wonder if I am rigging my bait in an incorrect way that reduces my ability to catch fish regularly.
@@RogerOsborneFishing Awesome, this is what is missing in most fishing videos online, and is one of the things most people struggle with. Thanks for your videos, they are great
Roger has shown this in previous videos. In our country we thread them onto the hook then tie with thin elastic cotton as the small fish nibble the bait off faster than you can say "jack frost,"
Hi Roger, just wondering where your Video is of catching Flathead on yabbies? Because I can't find it, I wanted to see a video of you catching flathead on yabbies because apparently you have a video of that.
Thank you for the video, very handy. I aslo watched your beach worm video and i would like to try that(catching beach worms) but dont know what are the recommended beaches in NSW?
@@RogerOsborneFishing cheers, I was so motivated from the video I actually went and got myself a pump, I went down and started pumping and using your techniques. Within 20mins I had around 25 yabbies and started fishing but I kept losing the yabby without any bites. Looking forward to the next video. Cheers
I got taught a dodgy technique by a crispy old sand eater by the name of Lutch. He fishes at Narrabeen, spins a good yarn but his techniques leave a lot to be desired. Great video Rog!!
