Hey Michael, I'm still out every morning from the shore striper fishin. Haven't got a good one since mid May at Bluff city. I make the rounds usually start at wing deer like 3am, then watauga river to twin bridges and sometimes I go to blevins in Elizabethton. Then back to bluff city. But something recently got to me. There are only a few good spots to park along watauga from persinger ramp to the flats, as of July 4th, most now have no parking signs, private property keep out, or have been blocked off with boulders and giant tree stumps so you can't park there. I knew this would happen, because of all the trash, i do like you do every time, I spend a few minutes and clean up soda cans bait containers food wrappers even diapers, in a trash bag. But lately it got so bad, its like 2 full trash bags per spot per week, sad. Fishing line rolled up in a ball is a bird killer, it's all over the place. So to all the dirtbags that ruined it for the few hardcore fishermen like me, and a handful of other hardcore stripermen that i know, thanks. Now there is hardly anywhere along hyder hill from the Austin springs Bridge all the way to persinger launch ramp to park. Great job........Another great video Michael...

Man, appreciate your passion. Thanks for picking up trash and I’m sorry about the shrinking opportunities to catch big striped bass. Keep me posted on any success. Tight lines.

I so appreciate your tips. I am getting closer to landing my first striper. 3/10 The wind was favorable to push me to the fishing area. After drifting/trolling/casting, I got there in 1.5 hours in my kayak, 2:15 PM. I was getting too close to a stone wall when BAM, fish on. It was taking drag, and towing my kayak, the fish was shaking like mad, and I lost it. But it was a thrill and a fun ride. It had to be a striper to hit so hard and tow my Kayak like that. [6]. Using shiner down about 20 foot, 20lb braid, barrel weight, 17 lb mono leader, 2/0 circle hook

@@MichaelKaal-TriFisherI am hoping they move near Pickens or Devault soon, so I don't need to paddle so far... I have not been on Boone during summer pool, but something tells me when the water level reaches all those party boats suspended in the docks now, that fishing is over...

I would recommend launching from Bluff City . I would recommend trout minnows this time of year. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iXpuwJAs_0A.html

I’ve been wanting to hit Boone Lake for that early morning striper bite … but it’s so much easier to live vicariously through you than it is to make that hour and a half drive from Sevierville 😀. Keep these videos rolling in, you’re killing it. P.S. You picking up garbage after every trip is VERY admirable and inspired me to pick that up as a tradition over here at the boat launch in Seven Islands State Birding Park.

I am enjoying your videos. I live in Gray very close to Boone Lake and sadly have never tried striper fishing. What weight and type of line and hook would recommend? Also where do you get a minnow bucket like you have? I don’t see anything like that at Bass Pro.
@MichaelKaal-TriFisher
@MichaelKaal-TriFisher 2 года назад
Hey Stephen, thanks for asking. I’m glad you like my videos. I would suggest anywhere from 20 to 30 pound braid, glass or plastic beads, swivel, 20 pound fluorocarbon leader. Circle hooks or treble hooks. I have a moeller bait tank
@stephengossett1627
@stephengossett1627 2 года назад
How big on circle hooks? Bass Pro recommended huge 7/0. Any need for split shot?
@MichaelKaal-TriFisher
@MichaelKaal-TriFisher 2 года назад
@@stephengossett1627 Honestly I would get a few different sizes. You want to match the size of the hook to the size of the bait. No need for split shot. Attach your barrel weight to the braid, then one or two beads, then your swivel, 4ft of leader attached to a hook.

Hey Michael, another great video. Quick question, what size spinning real do you like to use or what size are the white ones you're using? I'm trying to get setup for this, my gear is smaller and I need to up-size I think. Thanks!

Just moved to JC and my wife and I want to kayak fish BL. Any suggestions on what to target? I would love to catch stripers and hybrids but not sure I want to tackle something that large from the kayak. My gear really isn't heavy enough either.
