I don't know if people can truly grasp just how far and fast technology has come. Also this would be a great thing to produce experimental movies for.

I had the original handheld Movie Viewer with a few of those cartridges. I used to play with it for hours! I would sometimes play the movies really fast too, and play them in reverse.

OMG, this gives me the chills (in a good way)… Watching movies on my phone or iPad doesn’t make anything seem special at all. But watching a 1920s-quality movie on this device gets me all excited…without sound, no less!!!

So glad this showed up on my feed. I had one of these in the early 80s. Amazing!

I never heard of dog pound tea cartoon. Wow, that is vintage.

I had the handheld version of that which looked like a mini mouse camera and you cracked it to move the film forward or backwards. I only had bugs bunny though.

Only a few seconds in and have to commend the care and effort in the intro. Keep it going.

I used to own this when I was a kid...among the cartridges I had were a few Disney films (Mickey Mouse and the Giant, Pinocchio, Three Little Pigs, Donald Duck's Toy Train), a Warner Bros. Looney Tunes film (Bugs Bunny in the Lion's Den), and a Sesame Street film (Big Bird's Birthday Party)!

I got the handheld viewer as well as the Movie Theatre in 1979, just recently found it again in the attic. I have also quite a few of the films. One of them was Walt Disney's The Black Hole, not really a childrens movie, in my opinion. Unfortunately, mine is missing the power cord. Any idea what type of power supply and plug I could use? It only says 5 Watt on the box, not sure if you still can get those.

The power supply is hardwired into the unit, but at the plug end there is a 'toy transformer'. It's a 120V 60 HZ 5W input and an output of 3.5W. Hope that helps.

Got a great channel here, RU-vid is the closest thing we have to a Time Machine and it’s cool to see all these old things my parents/ grandparents grew up with
