WHen I lived in Pcola Bob Sikes was our main spot on the bay. Glad to hear it is still open.I had heard it was closed to fishing. I have seen everything caught there from rays to sharks, Spanish, jacks,trout,whiting We can't wait till we return to the area this Fall. Bob Sikes is on the spots we are going to fish.

We pulled up on a boat while you were catching bait we caught 9 and a mangrove in 30 minutes right off that corner piling

A kayak would have made fishing that pier a lot more better. As far as his channel, I would go with " Killing it with Kelton" because something tells me that little man is going to be doing a lot more than just fishing.

So this is not an abandoned pier. It is the dock for the Pensacola Bay City Ferry at Fort Pickens, an authorized concessionaire of the National Park Service and very much an active pier. It was severely damaged by Hurricane Sally in 9/20 and rebuilt about a year ago. There are a lot of fish around the pier. To my boating friends take heed to the signage telling you to stay 200 yards away - the FWC enforces it.

So why is an abandoned pier like that one closed? Unless it's unsafe, which it did not appear to be (appeared to be super well built).

Should've fished the regular peir , much easier to fish and the mangroves have been Stacked up on every piling for the last 3 weekends
