One of the biggest things I've learned, and appreciated, is how you "treat" the fish you catch. I guess gentle is the word to use. Only in circumstances that can't be helped do you toss them back in. They're creatures in our world that deserve respect and it seems that's what you give them. That's how I now see them and treat them as such. And I do feel like a better human after releasing them gently. I hope all this makes sense lol. Thanks for all you do on your channel!
I appreciate it Kathy!! I really try my best and have learned over the years to take care of the quarry we love to chase. I feel the universe pays it back ten fold.
New River is definitely on my bucket list for a place to chase smallies. You scratched out a limit each day and fished brand new water. Solid effort B. Blessings
We just made a trip from North Carolina to Michigan and back. I saw several rivers I wish I could fish. I have caught a couple of smallmouth in the New River in North Carolina years ago.
I like to camp at the New River Campground in Gauley Bridge WV. The New River runs right behind the Campground and there is area of mountains right behind the river that has a train that runs through it, it's beautiful!
That was a good idea the drop shot I no I wouldn't have thought of it . Ohio has good River bass fishing I live in northwest Ohio fish Maumee River auglaize River Blanchard River and all its tributaries just get out and do it.great video 👍😀
@@thecreekcrawler I think I over greased mine when I cleaned it. The drag is smooth, but it wouldn’t be great for frogging or punching in its current condition.
Hey Crawler, now you're fishing my neck of thew woods. Been fishing the New all my life, it's a wild river, you have to respect it for sure. Glad you had such a good day. Did you put in at Sandstone?
It was either that one or the one downstream! It was a chore to get to and from that ramp. I lost out on a few hours of fishing due to me leaving early to find service.
@@thecreekcrawler The current is so strong, you really need to just flow down river and run a shuttle to do it right. Sandstone to Price is great, 20 years ago we wouldn't see maybe a couple boats on a saturday, now it gets a lot more pressure. . Let me know if you ever want to hit it again. Also the Greenbrier river is special too!
Your 30 minutes episodes are awesome and keep it up especially the tournament coverage. Update: My Nikko leeches are in. Going use the same drop shot setup. Heading the AEP recreation lands on Wednesday and probably Lake Logan over the weekend. Thank you for the tips.
Yes!!!! The Nikko leeches are killer! I actually have been using them on the drop shot too!! Cool thing is you won’t have to replace your leech every 2-3 fish. Lasts all day long
Outstanding video! Enjoyed watching you out there doing your thing! Beautiful scenery and some nice catches. Keep up the good work my friend. Looking forward to more great stuff. And as always, #TheCreekCrawler rocks!!!
I recently watched your hellgrammite video with vance outdoors and was wondering what brand and size jig you use with the weedless nikko? Additionally, what jig would work best for exposed hook finesse with it? I've been watching a lot of your vids with the hellgrammite, and it seems to work great in creeks.
There are many to chose from but I try and find the football style EWG hooks. It just seems to work so much better in the rocks. I use the vmc rugby ones or the owner finesse football EWG. I appreciate the support
Yea the smaller ones were in abundance. That’s good news for the future fighters of the river. It was a grind and enjoyed every minute. Thanks for watching!
