Fishing for 100+ lb Halibut in Washington State | Catch and Cook
It is nearly impossible that we can go anywhere for any reason without making a stop to fish! An Alaska fishing trip for Salmon and Halibut have been on our bucket list for years. However, on our previous trip to the Pacific Northwest we not only successfully fished for and caught salmon, we also went Dungeness crabbing in Washington State. With that checked off the list, the next species was Halibut which, yet again, we we were able to successfully reel in a 100+ pounder in the PNW. I am not saying Alaska is no longer on the bucket list but it sure does make Washington that much more special.
Ingredients:
-Halibut or thick fillet of white fish
-1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-3 tablespoons mayo
-3 tablespoons chopped green onions
-2 tablespoons lemon juice
-1/4 teaspoon of salt
-A couple dashes of hot sauce
Recipe:
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
2. Mix together softened butter, Parmesan cheese, Mayo, Green onions, lemon juice, salt and hot sauce and set to the side
3. Place fish fillets on a greased baking sheet
4. Coat fish in olive oil and season with salt and pepper
5. Bake fish for around 8 minutes (or until there are 2-3 minutes left of total cooking time)
6. Take fish out of the oven and add Parmesan cheese sauce
7. Broil fish on high for 2 to 3 minutes

Great eating fish! Just one thing, that was a "chicken", most assuredly not a "barn door". 😆

That can be a long run from Seiku out past Tatoosh when the ocean swell and wind waves build but it is absolutely beautiful. Glad you got into a nice fish. They can be a real back breaker! You put out a great channel. I'm in Florida now after a life in the Washington state and going through the learning curve. You two are great teachers!

Welcome to WA hope you enjoyed that area, Cape Flattery is beautiful but rugged and our weather a bit different than your usual home. If you ever get a chance try the southern corner of WA. The Long Beach Peninsula and the Columbia River, great fishing there as well as views and a great maritime museum in Astoria OR. Another great video, thanks!

Do you fly commercial or private jet? Looks like Kona went along and it would be much easier to fly private jet I would imagine on a long flight.

Wish you all the luck with your business ventures ladies, fishing gear is a very competitive area. Call me old fashioned, but those digital electric reels sure looks like cheating.

50 inch Halibut = approx 50 pounds. Unless they grow a lot fatter between Oregon and Washington.
