Fishing for Gilthead Bream & Bass -
This video is ideal for beginners to the of kayak fishing that may be wanting to anchor inshore and fish for Bream & Bass.
Although slightly earlier than ususal, the conditions for targeting the first Gilthead bream of the year from the kayak looked ideal.
Big tides and pretty much zero wind on the east coast of the island, which has fast become my favoured strech of coastline for targeting bass & Gilthead bream in the early stages of summer.
In this video you see me venture out on the kayak to use my slightly lighter fishing setups whilst fishing inshore and at anchor with worm and clam baits for Gilthead Bream & Bass.

You got that right I was pretty gutted I didn’t see it I’d imagine it was a fair bit bigger then the one I managed to net. Haha my Dog Ted had a small portion of it with his bus units the other day.. he really enjoyed it.He loves Gilthead bream I had one cooking a couple of years ago and when I plated it up he was going crazy… safe to say we had half each! Oh my days. AKA for fucks sake, amongst other expletives. Good control there sir. Watched slippy limpets videos with that bait tool and looks like it saves a lot of flaffing about. What a beautiful day out there. Gutted i missed next tide. The rear rod holders you have are a great asset. I see a lot on your set up I could do with. Nice to see a young gilt. The bass looks so fat and saw the crabs from its stomach on Facebook. Might show they still grab a free meal when their stomach is full. Nice change from crab lol

yeah it was great out there mate will have to try again soon… The bass was so chunky mate.. I had zero crab trouble too probably because the bass had hoovered them all up lol

Thank matey I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos! yes I use a dive reel for my anchor and I also have some smaller ones that I use on my crab/lobster traps when I put them out. it makes life so much easier I find. Thanks for watching it’s much appreciated!

EBay or Cornwall canoes is a good place to pick one up matey. Just make sure you get the correct size with the amount of line on it that you’ll need.
