I just watched "big sister" hand over that reel to little brother because she knew he'd enjoy it more. Most people didn't even know what she was doing. Little Emily is growing up into a young lady and what a fine young lady she's becoming!!

Miss EmmaLee needs a "fighting belt" to anchor the butt of the pole into---- I think the way she was getting leverage was hurting her a bit.

I'm not versed on fishing etiquette but she caught the fish and did half the reeling in. So she gets huge kudos to me. It was one heavy fish too. She did excellent!! Even with the guy taking it from her, (I understand he was doing sthg strategic ???) but I felt bad that her thunder was sorta stolen. But like I said, I'm not versed on fishing.

Love fishing ...fresh or salt water. My parents have a 8mm video of me at 3 yrs old with a fishing pole in my hand walking around our camp site. Still love fishing to this day. Watching this brings back memories, one day Houston and Emmalee will look back and cherish these memories.

Heart is beating fast! I grew up on deep sea fishing! My Dad had several nice boats from cabin cruisers to yachts...he took customers out every weekend...we fished 100 miles out from Galveston...snapper had no limit back then...we fished for King and Ling - best fighting fishes...caught dauphin (not porpoise), sharks, octopus...you name it...At age 13, we went bill fishing out of Destin...OMG...That IS the fishing experience...I caught a Blue Marlin bigger than me..., my Mom caught a smaller sail, and Dad caught a White Marlin...you must go bill fishing...I'm 69 y/o and I remember that day like now...best fishing trip ever! Have never heard of Snook! Just wait to you see a bill fish come up and fly out of the water...heart stopping!

If you had the dogs along you might catch more fish. On Emily time change might be a factor. It for me when I live on West coast and be used to that time zone. Then be on East coast it was hard.

Love in to see you happy with your family and not needing to garden so much. There is one thing I have found it's called veggie boy, I think you will enjoy the humor 1 dad and 3 boy +cousins. 80 Acha 'garden', the grow pole beens cucumbers, tomatoes very windy and no climbing allowed to grow on dirt and crop like crazy!!

That was quite an outing with Salt Life. That tarpon certainly put up a fight for EmmaLee and Houston. Some of us Florida fishers would be wearing a life vest while out on the water just in case that something goes south. It was good to see that you had a fun day.

Get a fisher's belt for the kids -- it hold the but of the rod in place ---- a lot of small people use them..... also go after Spanish mackerel = smaller fish but a lot of fun to catch....
